Bjorkgren is basically a distressed asset in coaching form.
I have to assume his level of talent would not otherwise be available to join a tanking Chauncey staff.
Perhaps he is an insurance policy if Chauncey decides to leave this season. Tinfoil hat theory might suggests this is a push to get Chauncey to leave.

I can’t remember a time I’ve seen a locker room turn on a coach as fast as Indiana did with Bjorken. His players absolutely hated him. Can’t say I’m excited to have him on board.
