(Jeremy Cohen via Michael Grogins): What a Paul George Trade Could Look Like

He's pretty emphatic that there isnt a path with Randle. Listen to his latest C.R.E.A.M on Knicks Film School.

By “isn’t a path with Randle” do you mean he thinks the Knicks can’t win with Randle? Or he thinks we can’t get a trade done without giving up Randle?

    It’s not gonna happen.

And certainly not in a 3 team deal where Deni & PG end up here.

Might aswell throw in Ant&Wemby aswell now

  3. Clever-Innuendo

I like how it objectively makes us worse

  4. MikeyLikeyPhish

Fuck that! Randle is the best player in the deal

  5. killaslam

Why is Paul George 1-50 more valuable than Julius Randle 2-60

    Make it make sense

  6. JNerdGaming

i dont get it, this would be fucking awful. we already have three forwards. we dont have infinite cap space

  7. GoldenBoyRecords

Wizards would def want their protected pick back in any trade scenario and idk why they come up off Deni. Randle isn’t perfect but I think it’s a semi lateral move to move off Randle.

It is possible to do a trade without including Randle. If you include Josh Hart that easily matches salaries with Bojan and Mitch

Who is this from? Someone paid to make up bs to fill space/create content?

  9. I am still not a fan of letting Randle go. To me it just makes very little sense and this FO has only been doing sensible things.

Deni is not Randle level, at least for the time being and we are looking to win now. You bring in PG and DDV goes to the bench. You start Deni but he is not going to produce what Randle produces offensively

I don’t care what it takes this is fuck no for me

  12. Wizards probably would want more than 1 FRP for Deni I think. I’d give them more if need be, but other than that good trade 👍

not happening but if it did the negative opinion in here would flip pretty quick

For those who haven’t listened to the podcast, Cohen was asked what a PG13 trade could look like. He then laboriously walked through why the math doesn’t make sense for most traditional routes because of the apron rules and the fact that the Clippers won’t want to be hard capped and the Knicks would like to be at worst hard capped at the second apron. He eventually posited that this three team trade makes the most sense from a cap perspective, provided the teams actually wanted to do it. He wasn’t saying it’s a good or bad trade, only that this is what it would look like. It’s actually really interesting to hear him walk through it. The NBA’s cap and trade rules are really complicated.

this would be a legit terrible trade for us

  16. This would be fire. Y’all are crazy for saying no

  17. Kill me. This is probably from CREAM I’m guessing someone asked him how we can get deni and PG?

I hate we are giving up that much for PG and Deni

  18. Whats with all the Deni fascination? There’s like a group of knicks fans that seem to be obsessed with him. I don’t get it. He’s not really good at anything.

  19. NYdude777

Everyone ignoring that George wants a max deal. It’s the whole reason he wants out because the Clippers don’t want to pay him one. Nobody should be getting a MAX at age 34.

  20. dBlock845

Lol $48M a year for a washed PG13. Can’t wait til he gets traded somewhere so these fantasies of trading for him stop.

  21. ArtGrandPictures

I think it’s silly to be overly dramatic about speculative trades and we should have trust in our FO. They’ve earned our trust so far.

Also, if the Knicks do a trade like this, I will die a million deaths.

  22. tedlassobelooking

I’ll keep randle. We less and less legit post players I’m skeptical of letting him go . I miss that bully ball down low when we need a foul or a good chance at a shot or open assist
