[Johnson] League sources indicated that the New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings both offered draft capital to the Bulls in packages they felt were superior to the [Giddey for Caruso] deal. The Athletic previously reported the Kings’ offer that featured the 13th overall pick in this week’s NBA Draft

I’ve come around on this trade. If they had done a Caruso for Giddey trade exactly one year ago we would be saying OKC got fleeced. He had a year from hell with his off the court issues, but he’s only like 21. If they can fix his mental the Bulls got a great player under contract.
Interesting. I wonder if we had made that trade, OG becomes expendable?
Would’ve been a hell of a pickup
I love how active our FO is. Seems like they’re never resting on their laurels
the bulls franchise are so poverty
This trade will likely age well.
Giddey has produced more by the age of 21 than most players do in their entire career. Depending on how the shot develops, the Bulls might’ve found their franchise PG. Even if he isn’t, it’s well worth the cost of an expiring contract to take the risk
I love Caruso but he is kind of a redundant to Hart. Obviously Caruso is a better defender but how many sub 10ppg scoring role players do we need. Caruso would of made a great defense better but what about our offense with the 2nd unit
Giddey is a better Get than we got for KP
Interesting to see front office willing to part with draft capital in a deal for a theoretical elite role player as opposed to holding out for a “star”. I think (hope) minus some moves on the second unit, Leon is planning as if they will run it back.
