I am so distraught man

My favorite player gone just like that. I know there’s two firsts but he’s on a team friendly contract and progressing beautifully

Now i know what it feels like to have my heart break this year

My favorite player on this team since Wall man

  2. RoosterB32

I am pissed. Out of all the moves the new FO has done this has been by far the worst. Ted needs to sell the fucking team. We’re such a joke.

  3. Solid-Confidence-966

I’m distraught that Mr. Buck Buck won’t be on our side anymore 😭

  4. I want to see what the front office says was the discussion. I don’t think any of us saw this coming.

  5. Mean-University-4674

On the bright side, more room for Wiz fans and fewer Deni-only fans

  6. YungChildsPlay

Literally had the highest upside of anyone currently on the team 🤦🏽‍♂️

  7. Rosencats

Deni perhaps had the most discourse on this sub since Quinton Mayo and Kamiyah Adams-Beal. Farewell sweet prince

  8. BoldElDavo

Brogdon can *maybe* be flipped for an asset (he’s good for the 35 games he plays each year).

Getting that in addition to two firsts and two seconds makes it not a bad deal.

  9. Brilliant_Quality_14

I hate the wizards so much. Been a fan since the Washington Bullets days. I guess we’re trying to lose as many games as possible again. Traded our highest ceiling player for a bunch of draft picks during the worst draft in years. WTF are we doing man?

  10. SelfLoathinMillenial

Lmao. Here we go again. You all gotta stop falling in love with these dudes

  11. As much as I dislike it, we may have actually capitalized on a players maximum value for once, good contract, solid year that ended on a boom run, he very well could have peaked and we got the picks from it.

  12. Hagdogrobinwood

I gotta feeling its Zaccharie Risacher at 2 now

  13. MarqueeM00n1

Would’ve thought with Kuz gone, Deni could’ve inflated his stats and we coulda flipped him for more value in 1-2 years but oh well.

This is all part of a bigger plan from our FO. Let’s give them some rope

  14. Ok_Code_6314

Yeah sad we’re rebuilding so I guess it’s ok. I became a fan of the wiz in 19′ and my fav wizards were Rui and Deni. Was really happy we got Deni locked up on that deal last year. Sad but we don’t have that A1 young player yet like a Shai so no one is a for sure lock to stay long-term.

  15. SongYoungbae

Trading a former 9th overall pick that’s developed surprisingly well despite the bullshit of how we tried to use him in his first 2 years for the #14 pick in a “historically bad draft” and a backup guard is something

  16. eternal_student78

I think Portland will be happy with the long-term results of this trade.

I’ll be happy if Topic falls and we can get him with the Portland pick.

  17. phillturdwater

I don’t understand how we traded Deni and Gafford before Kuzma

  18. COACHREEVES

I would like to ride or die with Deni but I want to win. The real question is did we get fleeced or set ourselves back?

Maybe they think that Dillingham, Topic or Collier will be at 14/ Or they want to do something we don’t see coming Edey or MIssi someone like that. I am not a Topic fan, but If I told you Topic-heads:

We get Topic, keep 2, get a 2029 1, a couple throw in 2’s for Deni … & we plan to develop Bilail and no.2, 14 & 26, while we Tank for another big pick next year & its possible we could flip Brogan for a future one from a contender ….. maybe it isn’t so totally crazy & unimaginable.

  19. Plane-Juggernaut-321

Goodbye Kuzma and Avdija, you will be missed

  20. Don’t be, we’ll draft two great rookies and replace him easily…

  21. Joshottas

I’m not distraught…just rather trying to make sense of this deal while Kuz is still on the roster. You don’t sell this high on Deni while keeping 33 around. Ridiculous.

  22. MrBuckBuck

I’m just happy he got way better in the last season, showing some of the promise he had shown in his youth. Keefe is a fantastic coach, and I’m sure he will keep doing great with Bilal, Kispert, and the upcoming young picks.

It’s just business, and it seems like the Wizards got an offer they can’t refuse.

The Wizards will probably keep accumelating draft picks, so it makes sense.

I think the Wizards will have to make similar decisions with Corey Kispert, Kuzma, and Poole.

It seems like the Trail Blazers try to build a serious team, but the main problem, from what I’ve seen in the last few seasons, is that they similarily stick to ISOs like the Wizards did so in the past.

At least the Wizards aren’t afraid anymore to make cruicial decisions and have a true vision about its future.

  23. toquiktahandle

We are the team that gets them ready to be good on their next team

  24. anonperson1567

I don’t think he was untouchable, but for the 14th in a weakass draft? I don’t know about this.

  25. FerretWinter7063

Why do people care about him so much? He’s a middling player who made progress this year but no one thought fifteen all star games in a row.

  26. capsrock02

The Wizards traded the literal only player on the team I’ve heard of. Welp, back to hockey.

  27. e_milberg

I remember in a different thread, I wrote something along the lines of “we didn’t suffer through Deni’s growing pains just to trade him right after he put it all together.”

    Well…

  28. e_milberg

Also, if Deni is up for grabs, EVERYONE not named Bilal or Sarr should be traded, too.

  29. Shotmaker71

They have 3 – 4 SF’s in Coulibaly, Avdia, Kispert, and Kuzma.
One HAD to go and while Avdia has learned to score, he’s a limited defender.

Getting the 14th pick (18 yr old Bub Carrington) for him is exciting. Bub has great size for a PG and competes in all aspects.

    Good move

  30. Fit-Acanthocephala82

Lately I’ve come to care about players welfare much like i do teams. Same thing with soccer (avid follower of the premier league). Will miss him for sure but if Deni benefits from this and gets more playing time then i like the trade.

  31. Easy-Lucky-Free

I’ll feel confident about the future of this franchise if we actually play all our young guys this whole season. And just suck it up.

Rather than the old days of our rookies never touching the floor despite us being a fringe playoff team at best.

  32. NIL-Empire

If the wizards want to be a real contender, they need the 1st pick in the 2025 nba draft. Loosing Avdija may be part of that strategy

  33. XXeadgbeXX

What the hell man. I was NOT expecting this at all. Deni was just coming into his own too.

  34. burper2000000

All Israelis (lncluding me) on the way out of this sub

  35. Team friendly contract doesn’t mean anything when your team sucks. His contract will be over before the team is good.
