Golden State Warriors NBA Draft DEEP Sleeper List

Golden State Warriors NBA Draft DEEP Sleeper List

all right Larry Krueger here from the pig and a pickle Krug show with a little Golden State Warrior video NBA draft night is Wednesday and Thursday night and the Warriors have a pick in the second round deep in the second round I think pick number 52 in this video we’re going to go through our my favorite NBA draft sleepers um it’s one of my favorite videos that we do every year um and we’ll talk about some of the draft sleepers that I think are are going to be available to Golden State potentially in round two and of course we’re brought to you by pig and a pickle the best barbecue in all of Northern California check them out there in Emeryville and C Madera they’re open in both spots from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm or until they run out get some brisket get some brisket chili go say hi to Damon and Mary tell them that Larry Krueger sent you and this video is also brought to you by Underdog fantasy check the link in the description use the promo code Krug krg and they will match you up to your first $100 all right let’s talk a little bit about the the upcoming NBA draft now the draft has changed it used to be that um the draft was you know very topheavy and if you had a lottery pick you were going to get a very good player but if you had a late first round pick you were not going to get a good player and no good players hardly ever fell to the second round and if you weren’t drafted you couldn’t play I mean it was as simple as that now the NBA draft is a more speculative draft you’ve got guys coming out after their freshman year in college you have kids who are playing for the g-league ignite team and never playing college ball you have European players and and international players who are playing in foreign leagues and so there’s a lot of players in that 19 to you know 23 range but that have a whole variety of Developmental uh paths and um you know you it just it’s very difficult to handicap uh who’s going to be good and who’s not going to be good because they’re not all going through the same process some guys are playing you professionally with with adults in Europe and and internationally some guys are playing and they’re going to college and they’re learning great defensive principles in college some guys are playing in the g-league um or you know in the developmental league and you know are basically like pros so I’m goingon to go through a few guys that I think are sleepers in the upcoming draft and we’ll just go through a few of my favorites okay one of them is Eric gain a point guard from University of Alabama at Birmingham he’s a 23-year-old Junior it’s one of the best athletes in all of college basketball he’s six feet and he’s really really skinny I mean like 140 pounds 148 pounds but man this guy’s a dunker and a crazy athlete he’s got speed he’s got explosiveness he’s a kid from Georgia Leonia Georgia is his hometown uh averaged like you know 12 points a game 5.5 assists per game 3.9 rebounds per game H for UAB shot only 28% on threes so he needs to develop his outside shot but man if you watched Eric Gaines put the ball on the deck and go to the hole the athleticism is off the charts this is one of the great athletes in this draft he’s a little on the skinny side he’s probably gonna have to spend some time in the developmental League just trying to get stronger he’s probably a guy who’s a couple years away from really being a contributor but man if you got the 50c pick and you’re deep in the second round uh Eric gains in two years could be a very athletic point guard that’s really fun to watch all right another guy that I really like Germaine Kinard the Oregon guard who’s a you know he’s a combo guard he’s he’s like 64 215 very strong body he’s from East Chicago Indiana he’s an offensive player he averaged 16 points a game 4.6 rebounds a game 3.3 assists per game shot 35% on threes 75% % from the foul line very strong combo guard that I think has got some real upside and athletic potential another guy that you play him in the G league for a year he’s really gonna emerge um strong body good Defender but much more interested in playing the offensive end of the floor than the defensive end but kinard’s an athlete he looked good in the turny look good I saw him a couple times this year he looked really really good so um he’s he’s a late second round pick he might even not he might even go undrafted but Germaine Kenard really kind of a sleeper another guy who’s a sleeper is Tristan anuma uh from Cleveland State who’s a 68 220 pound power forward he’s he’s from the Netherlands um he’s he’s a Dutch kid who’s who’s a scorer he handles the ball he’s a very polish player he can score down low he averaged 19 points six rebounds he’s 68 but he plays like a 610 611 guy he’s got a 7-1 wingspan so he plays even though he’s listed at 68 220 he plays more like you know 610 611 235 he looked really good in the Portsmith Invitational uh pre-draft Camp um just a lot to like there uh Tristan in Aruna I believe it’s enaruna but um really lot of upside I think he’s just kind of sleeper guy that people are are missing on uh a couple guys that I think are sleepers even though they’re probably going in the first round Baylor shyan from kraton and Kyle filipowski from duke let’s start with filipowski filipowski is a big center from duke who’s like 610 he didn’t measure all that athletic but he can really play the game he’s competitive he can pass he knows how to make successful basketball plays in the half court um he’s not a shop blocker he’s not a rim protector he’s not a dominant rebounder what he is is a he’s a he’s a a stretch four whose shot is developing who can really pass who’s kind of fiery and competitive uh I like filipowski I think filipowski is gonna have an NBA career and then shyan I think is one of the great steals he looked great in Chicago at the pre-draft camp this is maybe one of the greatest Shooters I’ve seen in college basketball in the last four or five years he reminds me of Klay Thompson he’s a 672 guard who um is a little bit underrated athletically because he’s such a great shooter he’s just a money shooter I mean this guy can shoot from the three-point line he’s also money inside the line if he squares his shoulders the ball is going down I mean he is one of the great Shooters um in all of college basketball and they’re saying he may go you know some somewhere between 20 and 30 that’s pretty late for a guy who can shoot the ball like like Baylor shyan so I love shyan if the if the Warriors could get their hands on shyan they should be doing cartwheels another guy that I think is kind of a sleeper is Brandon Carlson the center for Utah who’s rail thin he’s seven feet about 220 pounds you know there’s questions about his defense of ability there’s questions about his ability to Rebound in the NBA he averaged 17 points and six rebounds he’s a stretch five but he can handle uh he can pass and he can shoot he’s a little overaged at 25 but he’s a good player he’s a good player and I think um Carlson could be a really nice stretch five and I think he’s a very good chance that he doesn’t get drafted at all another guy that I really kind of like couple point guards Isaiah Stevens a point guard for Colorado State really smart point guard average 16 points 6.8 assists per game excellent playmaker tremendous feel five years starter uh really good player in the half court set the other point guard that’s kind of intriguing is um is Zion Pullen who played at Florida now he’s a 64 kind of a combo one two he’s actually a Bay Area kid he’s from Pleasant Hill California shot 45% on threes and 85% from the foul line and he’s got a polished mid-range game so that might not be a bad addition for Golden State I mean 45% from the college 3 85% from the foul line if he could improve and most guys do improve their shooting when they get into the league you know you could have a very valuable piece I mean if you have a point guard that can shoot 40% from the three-point line and 90% from the foul line that’s a guy that you can play you know in the fourth quarter of games because you can he’s efficient you know if he gets fouled he’s going to the line he’s making 90% And this guy’s very Polished in the mid-range so uh the 45% from three is real the 85% from the foul line is incredible but a very polished mid-range scorer he’s kind of he’s kind of he’s kind of strong too he’s not a weak guy he’s got some good strength Zan Pullen from uh from from University of Florida is definitely on my list um a couple other guys that I want to mention here as well one is Adam Bona for UCLA 68 about 245 250 pounds and this guy is just one of the great athletes he can run he can jump he can finish uh tremendous athlete and another guy he’s 68 but he’s got great wingspan and length so he plays more like a 68 you know he’s 68 but he plays more like 610 611 he can run the floor for days up and down really really strong Runner he can catch the lob you know he doesn’t have a he’s he’s got a developing face up game and a developing you know um skill set overall but as far as right now this guy can run the floor block shots finish at the ring Rim uh be a rim protector there’s a lot to like there another guy that I really like is the Houston point guard Jamal shed you know I see a little bit of um of you know the the uh the Knicks point guard um he reminds me a little bit of the the kid from Villanova um he just he just has he’s a six- foot point guard maybe even a little under maybe 5’11 but this guy plays great defense and he’s really tough and tenacious um I really like Jamal shed and he’s probably also going to be there in round two now I left the best for last my favorite sleeper in this upcoming draft is a guy with a tremendous name and he also has a tremendous game his name is babacar San and he’s a power forward who played for the g-league ignite team he’s from Sagal he was part of the USA Africa movement and he’s a 66 you know I would say I mean he’s probably kind of like a he’s 6’6 they list him as a power forward he’s another guy with crazy length he’s got 72 wing span on a 66 body so even though he’s 66 he’s really more of a power forward and if there’s a guy that he kind of reminds me of he’s a little bit like kuminga in that he is a crazy athlete tremendous strength incredible length very very explosive only 20 years of age now he definitely needs development uh he needs skill development his feel for the game his decision making um right now Baba carane is a Run and Jump physical specimen but man he’s 72 he’s 6667 about 240 pounds but he’s shredded he’s ripped with a 72 wingspan and he’s a leaper he’s a dunker he’s a shot blocker this guy this isn’t this is one of the Great athletes uh coming into the league I mean when you look at him it’s hard not to think of like a young Giannis because he’s just got such incredible length in athleticism and this guy’s improving at such a rate um that you know I I you know I don’t even know if he’s gonna be drafted Jonathan gavone from ESPN ranked his top 100 players only the top 60 are getting drafted he had San I believe like 89 overall but all you got to do is YouTube this kid and watch the athleticism and it’s impressive I mean really really really impressive um this is a kid who’s who’s got a lot of talent um incredibly athletic gets off the floor you know can really run can really jump um when you watch him you sit there and go wow this is an amazing player um I’m GNA share the screen here real quick Qui and you can take a look for yourself at uh at San um and he he’s just a special player I mean here he is we go we’ll there we go we we’ll uh we’ll show you the little video here from San some of it has him talking we won’t necessarily play the audio portion but babacar San here he is you see the length um and he’s just a he’s a he’s a great athlete I mean 666 67 240 lbs super broad shoulders really long arms shot blocker um and he’s you know he’s obviously a smart kid if you hear him interviewed um he’s you know he’s got every part of his game needs polish his dribble his shooting his passing but the athleticism is off the charts and you look at at his ability to run the floor um it’s it’s really an imp he’s an impressive player he absolutely is an impressive player and and a guy who might wind up being um a very very good small forward you know a guy who might be able to be he kind of reminds me a little bit of a kuminga that he’s got that length he’s got that power it’s a gamble on athleticism but the athleticism is off the freaking charts so there you go thanks to uh thanks to pig and a pickle for sponsoring the Krug show thanks to 1. What does it matter? Kerr loves the old guys any talented young guys won't get to play.

Warriors need to get all the oldest guys in the league, go on tour as the Geriatric League.

Warriors are gonna stink until the drop Kerr and get a head coach who knows how to develop young players.

And get rid of all the old guys , especially Draymond, that guy is a team killer

  2. Kerr and Warriors front office think they still can compete with the old guys Old short guys. Time to revamp

  3. Knowing the Warriors, they love shooting the 3 ball, so I'm thinking that they'll pick Cam Spencer a SG from UConn. He's a threat from beyond the arc with 44% 3 point shooting rank #5 in the NCAA. But they really need to get big so Branden Carlson is a good fit but I think they will go for a SG then trade or sign a True Center after
