let’s head to the city of the sun where people are saying that Kevin Durant’s future might be in question and I mean why wouldn’t it be Minnesota mopped them off the floor in the first round of the playoffs but here’s what Stephen A Smith had to say about where KD stands with the Suns I am reporting I am reporting here uh oh pay no attention to what Phoenix is saying they want out of Kevin social media and here’s what he said NBA draft night is the best everyone talking about the drama and storylines some are right and some are just wrong my turn Phoenix loves Kevin Durant and Kevin Durant loves Phoenix and we are competing for a championship this year because we have the team to do it got to love the draft night go son you sleepy no you good no man’s I love sa I just I understand he went to his reporter mode but that was the biggest bunch of BS I didn’t heard why is it BS because for the simple fact listen at the end of the day we’re talking about Kevin Durant a guy that averaged 27 points on 52% shooting last year okay did Minnesota give them that work last year absolutely but let me remind you they won 49 games last year the Oklahoma City Thunder I believe won 53 games last year at the end of the day KD is still KD did he have some up and downs with Frank vogle in that locker room yes was he a disgruntled superstar in that organization at times yes it was because of the relationship with Frank voger Frank voger is gone now you bring in booten hoser you got to give it another shot with these three guys when it comes to your big three I talked to my guy James Jones yesterday he said perk that’s not happening not this season we’re not trading KD we’re not trading uh Bradley Bill we’re not trading Devin Booker we’re going to give it another run right now we’re staying pack we’re not even entertaining those conversations unless Kevin Durant goes to the uh front office and the owner and says that he wants out that’s the only way that’s going to happen and that’s not happening KD and D book about to go play for the represent our country together well they will go represent the country together whether they play for the Phoenix Suns or they play for the Phoenix Suns and the Houston Rockets but CJ you said something very similar you believe patience is key here I believe patience is key they obviously had some injuries last season they still were able to win 49 games we played against them when they were whole we played against them when they had injuries I think the ways in which KD was utilized last season wasn’t to his liking obviously they got coach butd now they’ll have more pick and roll opportuni they have more spacing situations in which KD and book are in actions together they’ll use Bradley Bill on the weak side they’ll put Bradley Bill on the ball off the ball I think you’ll see more pin Downs I think you’ll see more creativity because they have to be creative with this lineup in order to get the best out of their big three and then I think only at that point if they continue to struggle if they continue to not reach 50 wins if they’re in the playing game would they potentially entertain breaking up this big three because it is hard to build a team around three guys that make $50 million a year but trading Kevin Durant is not the answer Bobby Bobby how long can you wait to make a decision about KD’s future yeah I think you have another year here I think when you go all in like they did last last off season I think you have to play it out certainly when you have a another coach and Mike buen holes are here I think you know Kevin Durant’s got two years left on his contract I would expect Phoenix to offer him a one-year extension this off season I think when you go into next year if things don’t go well uh a player that’s got two years left on his contract compared to an expiring got a lot more value if they want to go in in a different direction here now I will I will say this I will I will call Cap to Matt isbel when he said Phoenix loves Kevin Durant and Kevin Durant loves Phoenix I would replace that love word with like okay it’s no love they like each other well you know what it’s actually better to like folks than to love them anyway yeah it’s a lot of people I love I got family members I love but I don’t like them all the time KD okay are you so perk you’re saying stick with KD what do they have to do to get past the first round this year then well I think I think when it comes down to being that top heavy when you have three guys that that are Elite scores that want the ball in their hands the first word comes to mind is sacrificing and we just watched the young uh Duo and Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown do just that and they got a championship now do they have the pieces around them like that no but Grayson Allen is no scrub right he was one of the best three-point Shooters in the game last year so it’s going to come down to them buying into buen hosa’s system are they going to defend at a high level is he is KD going to be a playmaker have the ball in his hands a lot more can Devin Booker go back to the Devin Booker we seen two postseasons ago where he was not only getting buckets but making guys around him better that’s the thing with the Phoenix Suns passing up good shots to get great shots not taking a lot of tough contested shots and trusting the others in their teammates listen I know you were stuck in the NY last night but we still got to give these folks a little bit of the morning perk right so as we so we G to stay in the NBA perk who should the Lakers be pursuing tonight in the draft they have no trust if if if uh Brony James is there they have to take him um they I mean at the end of the day look bronny yes it’s a it’s a development process but you still waiting on LeBron James right he did opt out I believe you do want him to sign back you get drafted son I tell you what we got some more conversation on this a little bit later on in the show I think there’s some people that might disagree with you on that but should the Warriors let Klay Thompson walk yes I think look at the end of the day it’s it’s time for both parties to go their separate ways right I think Klay Thompson he went through a lot right and we know as a athlete if your mind is not in the right place you’re not going to perform he watched Andrew Wiggins get his 100 million he watched Jordan P before he left get his 100 million Draymond Green get his 100 million Klay Thompson need a reset button a new organization but he could be the better version of himself well you’re saying that Klay Thompson can get a reset somewhere else should Paul George be an option for the Golden State Warriors hell yeah and Paul George should be running to get there look when you talk about winning the championship look KD had to learn the hard way right gold PA up with Steph Curry and Draymond Green and they’re going to Mentor you and show you how to win
