[Russo] The players for the San Diego Clippers, the Clippers’ G League affiliate in Oceanside, will live “about 100 yards” from the arena and training center in a brand-new condo complex. Lawrence Frank said he’s excited about what that could mean for them.
Thought this was really cool of daddy Ballmer to add to the new G-League facility and is a huge value-added benefit to attract promising G-League talent to SD. I know it hasn’t paid off yet, but it’s not said enough how lucky the Clips were to be bought by such a dedicated owner.

That’s dope, is it by the beach?

Interestingly (per Twitter comments) the free rent is not employee compensation for the players and doesn’t count towards their compensation (required to be at least $40.5k/6 months) for tax purposes under section 119 of the IRC, permitted it’s required as a condition of their employment. So shout-out to the American tax code too.
