  1. This changes everything. So many more avenues to improve the roster now. A Dejounte trade is also much easier to do since Atlanta is trying to get under the tax

“To be honest with you, I don’t have a great feel for what this is going to be,” said Brian Windhorst on First Take. “I thought maybe a month or so ago, D’Angelo would opt out. Now, I think there’s a chance, a stronger chance he will opt in, because the market isn’t looking so great right now. We can talk about that later, but I’m now kind of leaning that direction.”

If he had clear options in FA that were better than his PO, his agent would know by now and he’d have opted out imoĀ

With so few teams that have real cap space and those teams already seeming to want to take on contracts for assets, Dlo should probably opt in to preserve his Bird Rights.Ā Ā

Ā Dlo/picks for Murray should happen immediately lol idk if Murray’s extension kicks in until July.Ā

Sounded more like a guess by Windy but this would be best case scenario for tomorrow going into FA on Sunday

  5. Confident_Pen_919

Even if we dont make a trade we cant afford to lose Dlo and his shooting

  6. I guess Orlando wasn’t really that interested then.

  7. Smooth_97

just did a mock trade using the spotrac trade machine,

any trade with Atlanta Hawks will hard cap both teams on the 2nd apron

  8. AntSmith777

Hopefully that means weā€™re trading him.

  9. CabbageStockExchange

Get ready to speak trade block, buddy

  10. Need that 226 threes, record-breaking shooting from DLO

  11. crimsonsentinel

Sounds like nobody wants to give him what heā€™s asking for. Maybe we can extend him for cheap?

  12. incredibleamadeuscho

I think this is more of Windhorst thoughts than actually prediction. But him opting in would be good.

DLo opts in, and is traded to Atlanta for a first and a pick swap for Murray.

  13. thelennybeast

I still don’t think Murray is better. Trae, yes. Murray no.

  14. You morons should know that the Hawks wanted Reaves not DLo lmao

  15. Hungry-Space-1829

Quickley just got like 35/year, Iā€™d be shocked if D Lo opts in

The minute Ham was fired, I had a feeling Russell would still be with the Lakers next year.

I don’t feel much of this roster can be judged accurately with the abysmal coaching we’ve had, including Russell, despite my doubts about him. People always default to wanting to make lots of roster moves, like it’s fantasy basketball.

That’s what we’ve been doing for years. It’s not as simple as just throwing a bunch of pieces together. It’s utilizing the pieces in the most effective way, and developing those players. We’ve been bad at both of these for a long time.

  17. goldenbzzz

Good for both sides. Win win. With a legit coach, i truly believe dlo is due for a breakout season

  18. SlowCrates

Sweet, the Lakers will be able to trade him for something, hopefully. Anything, really.

  19. this sub will go insane when Do opt in and gets traded for cp3 and moody hahaha

  20. Public-Product-1503

Great news if true . Means we might have a chance to make some actual upgrades . Garland wants out of Mitchell extends rob needs to get on the phone and move whatever is needed ( keep knecht n if possibly reaves unless theyā€™re valued super highly that it saves lots of assets which I doubt ).

  21. Kobe_stan_

Can we offer Dlo a new longer term deal if we wanted with the current cap space/rules?

So instead of 1 year for $18.7M, how about 3 for $45?

  22. DLo is by far the best 3pt shooter on the team. Heā€™s also 2nd on the team in assists. I think we should keep him.Ā

  23. If he’s going out we need to make sure we get a solid PG and playmaker. That side of DLo will be missed.

  24. TRashGodBrian

I say keep DLO yeah heā€™s ass in the playoffs but we canā€™t afford to lose him for nothing. Iā€™m all in for a Dejounte trade w him but then we still need to address the big situation and I really donā€™t think weā€™ll get

  25. This makes a Lavine trade much easier if so and probably becomes this team’s best option.

  26. SquallkLeon

He saw that we drafted Bronny and was like, “No matter what, I *have* to be on this team with him!”

  27. Hulk_Crowgan

Was just waiting to make sure we secured JJ and Bronny

  28. Marktaco04

Dlo might have been streaky, plus a poor attitude under preasure. But he was our best ball habdler after bron, and his steals went up last year. He became our legitimate third option, and developed really good chemistry with AD. That could be tough to replace with whats on the market. I think people will br pretty dissapointed with murray

  29. dcoolidge

Dlo’s best bet is to resign, get traded and live through another contract year. His abysmal performance in the playoffs didn’t do much for his value or with teams already having a better pg.

  30. Did he hold his fingers up like he did in that meme of him šŸ˜‚

  31. discussionandrespect

If he only didnā€™t play like a little bitch against Denver he would be getting a bag rn. Its all on him
