Miami Heat UDFA Tracker: All The UDFAs The Heat Signed After The NBA Draft Ft. Keshad Johnson

Heat fans it’s time to hunt in the spirit of the Florida Panthers by the way because we are 209 subscribers away from 12K and I want to get there before free andc opens at 6:00 p.m. eastern time on Sunday afternoon so if you’re a Heat fan looking at Daily coverage around the Miami Heat and fun entertainment as well this is the channel for you and if we get the 12K before Sunday at 6:00 p.m. eastern time I’m doing a beer bong to celebrate [Music] all welcome into the heat report by chat sports I am your host Nick rolloff and on today’s show we have a updated two at least the point of filming udfa tracker for the Miami he as they have made five signings in undrafted free agency after the conclusion of the 2024 NBA draft now I do want to quickly look at who the heat did pick in the NBA draft if you’ve been living underneath the Rock these are the two selections kle wear was the pick the center from Indiana in the first round at 15 and then pel Larson after trading with the Hawks down one spot to pick up some cash considerations they grabed the guard SL forward out of Arizona in the second round two players that I do expect to carve out some minutes for themselves this upcoming year for the Miami Heat unless they somehow get traded in a blockbuster trade which I at this point don’t see happening I think these two are going to be some interesting players for my Miami and they will be playing on the summer league roster heat udfa tracker number one Kad Johnson the forward from Arizona I am estatic for this pick Kad Johnson signs with the Miami Heat and undrafted free agency and I could not be more thrilled this was my number one udfa target Trey Alexander was number two but he ended up going to the Denver Nuggets but kead Johnson is someone I would have been okay with the heat selecting with the 44 overall pick but instead they went with his teammate pel Larsson and they are going to be paired up together in the summer league Kad is an athletic Wing who will do a lot of good things and fit the Miami Heat mold and culture welcome kead to the Miami Heat and I mentioned that I would have been okay with him at 44 it’s because he’s an absolute Energizer Bunny on that Wing position and he performed really well for Arizona in the wild cats last season averag 11 and a half points six rebounds two assists and shot extremely efficient from the field and something I like about Kad Johnson as well is that he’s an excellent Defender and what do I mean by that let me tell you who he played for prior to being a wildcat last year he was San Diego State who has been one of the top three to five defensive teams in college basketball over the last decade like them and Houston have really led the way in terms of defensive prowess in college basketball and keyot was a major key in that a team that by the way went all the way to the NCAA championship before they lost to the huskys and then Kad joined Arizona and performed extremely well he can throw down some athletic and highlight real dunks and I expect to see some fireworks in Las Vegas with Kad Johnson on this heat summer league team are you fired up for Kad Johnson I am type y for yes or type n for no one quick note before we get to the next Heat udfa Adam Simon who is the top I guess draft guy alongside Pat Riley and Andy ellisburg in the heat system when speaking to the media about Kad Johnson he said they he were stunned he was not selected in the draft and he was their top graded player available in undrafted for aenc so they got their guy another guy that Heat fans are going to love and I do like as well Zion Poland the guard from Florida a lot of people in the chat wanted to keep him in the State of Florida and that is ultimately the case I know not everyone’s Florida fans there’s some hurricane fans but pulling is another home run that the heat were able to get and Miami always seems to be the team that just finds the gems and undrafted forc right we’ve seen it Caleb Martin Gabe Vincent Max stru Udonis Haslam Duncan Robinson like these guys have just been so good over the past 18 and 20 years for Miami and undrafted fre agency and I’m not going to try to Peg one of these guys as another person to be a high valued role player for this team but Zion Poland can absolutely be that he is a good shooter you see it there shot 44.9% from three average five and a half or five assists excuse me is 15 and a half points for the Gators he could just shoot the rock man and I am also bullish on his playmaking ability having him as your lead guard in summer league was going to be a lot of fun he is going to fight tooth and nail to make this roster and I do want to share these two tweets here on the two free agents that we’ve talked about so far Kad Johnson and I want to read this for btim and then we’ll talk about why it’s important undrafted free agent Kesha Johnson of San Diego State by the way this is Arizona I don’t know why Shams went back to last year he yeah he did play at San Diego State but played Arizona last year has agreed to a two-way NBA deal with the Miami Heat and then the initial report of Zion pen the he have signed udfi Zion pen to a two-way contract person source and why I wanted to read this and give this verbatim to make you give it an understanding is like Kad Johnson and Zion Pand are getting two-way contracts right off the bat and if you remember the three two-way players from Miami last year were alandis Williams Cole swier and Jamal Kane and none of them have been resigned on a two-way contract to this point so Kad Johnson and Zion Poland are two of your three two-way contracts there’s one more up for grabs and we’ll see who ends up getting that maybe it’s someone from the summer league maybe it’s an ales Williams again a coer again Jamal Kane again we’ll have to see but those two guys be giving a two-way contract not like a summer league exhibit 10 or something like that tells you how much they value those two guys and I think they’ll be continuing to stay on a two-way contract for a while all right hit that like button by the way show the love to the rookie class whether it be kle wear um P Larson the two udfas we’ve talked about in Kad Johnson and Zion Pullen if they scroll across this video I want them to know the Heat fans love them and got their back so hit that like button all right Isaiah Stevens the guard from Colorado State who I am so excited to talk about on this one because he was one of my favorite players to watch on the college level last year and you might be wondering who is Isaiah Stevens well he is one of the most Do-it all guards in the entire college basketball scene last year he did it all for Colorado State this is on me we’ll fix this here three-point percentage is 40% field goal percentage was 47% and he averaged 16 points a game um he shot extremely well from the field and I actually that is even more of an F up on me it’s 44% from three but either way Stevens was one of the most doit all guards at the college level and he made Colorado State one of the most fun teams to watch in the entire NCAA tournament last year like they made the tournament and I was excited for them I picked them to win and unfortunately did not go so well against the Texas Longhorns still hurts my heart because I was an Isaiah Stevens guy in truth there but the reason why he went undrafted after you saw those stats is well he doesn’t have the greatest size he’s 5’11 without shoes 6 feet with shoes um so he’s very under siiz wingspan is solid verticality is really not there either so he’s a below the rim point guard but he’s able to distribute the basketball he’s able to defend he’s able to shoot and I would peg him as someone to watch as the lead guard coming off the bench for Miami in summer league because I expect Zion Poland to be your starting point guard and we’ll get to alandis Williams as he’s likely going to be on the roster as well but Stevens as your backup yeah that’s going to be fun a name that I had no familiarity with until this video Bryson Warren the guard from Sue Falls and you might be wondering Sue Falls is that a no he actually was on the Miami g-league team last year but it’s a fascinating situation because just like you had the g-league ignite where you had multiple NBA draft prospects playing for there well there was also some NBA draft prospects scattered across the other g-league teams and Bryson Warren was one of them he’s only 19 years old so yes he is a rookie he’s not some journeyman g-league player that just happens to be on this like summer league team right now no this is a young guy at 19 so the Heat have familiarity with him I guess because they saw him play in 17 19 games last year in their g-league system they obviously felt intrigued by him to bring him back and give him a chance in the summer league to see what he can prove maybe he can grab a two-way contract if not might end up playing in sou Falls for another year for the heat g- League squad one more udfa to break down but let me know who is the best Miami Heat udfa let me know get in the comment section it’s probably either Kad Johnson or Zion Poland all right last one Warren Washington the center that played for Texas Tech a year ago Jacob Harris had the initial news that I don’t I like he is the only one that has this like I didn’t see any heat reporters talk about it I didn’t see anybody National talk about it so this is strictly on Jacob Harris and I’m running with it because he said that the Texas Tech forward/center war in Washington side to Summer League deal with the Miami Heat he tells me so I’m going to trust that Warren Washington is right about that this is an intriguing Center that doesn’t really have a lot to his game here 9.7 points 7.4 rebounds one and a half blocks um he can’t really space the floor either like he doesn’t shoot any threes he shot 62% from the field and 55% from the free throw line which is just like obviously if he can’t shoot from the line he’s not going to be able the space the floor so it’s someone that I don’t really have a lot of optimism for long term and I don’t really give him a good chance to make a heat two-way contract or anything like that but we’ll see what he has to offer for Miami in the summer league he’s 7 feet tall 225 lounds so he’s a big guy he’ll likely be maybe the backup center to kle wear at the summer league we see what he can do also to know as I kind of teased a little bit ago about alandis Williams Williams and Co swier who were under two-way contracts last year for Miami are expected to play for the heat summer league team not the G League team I think I’m drunk from last night I don’t know what’s happening with me today I’m just not there just to Simply you some days you don’t have your fastball today’s one of them for me this is Summer League Cole swier and Alanis Williams will play which means if I had to predict the starting lineup for the Miami Heat in the summer league right now I’d go Zion pull in starting Lis Williams in the back Court Cole swier at the three Kad Johnson at the four kle we at the five pel Larson your second round pick coming off the bench uh with Isaiah Stevens like that’s what I would have to guess it’s going to be a fun team and we’ll continue to update you with all the people and players that Miami adds to the summer league Squad so hit that sub button we’re going to go live for the summer league games as well so make sure you tune in for those I’ll see you with the video tomorrow breaking down the top free agents Miami can sign when it opens up on Sunday afternoon after the draft so hit that sub button and I’ll see you then [Music]

  1. Good job my friend I know your under the weather ,I enjoy ur heat report on the undrafted players..fa sho .it's a Rap 😎🌴🙏🇺🇲❤️

  2. I want all three Allondes Williams, Jamal Cain and Cole Swilder should stay. I really think. Letting the vets Go would be best.
    New roster should be:

    Terry Rozier
    Duncan Robinson
    Jimmy Butler
    Nikola Jovic
    Bam Adebayo
    Jaime Jaquez
    Kel’el Ware
    Allondes Williams
    Cole Swidler
    Jamal Cain
And whomever we get back from the Herro trade

  3. I was so pissed that my Pacers didn't select Keshad Johnson. He fixed his jumpshot and he's a menace on defense. Tied for max vert in combine. 3rd fastest.. reminds me of a taller Shannon Brown.. Or a really good defending version of a shorter version of Obi Toppin… They also drafted Kel'el Ware, who I thought could have went as high as pick 7 in this draft.. The only other pick I'd made if I was the Heat instead of Larrsen. Is I'd probably took my chances on Jamal Shead instead. Since they could use a PG and he seems to fit their culture.. and since they hit on all the other picks I liked. I figured maybe they'd like him as well. However I did sorta like Pelle at one time as well. Jamal is so short, but very strong and his tenacity is off the charts. Wingspan of 6'3, but standing reach of 8 feet. 37 max vert.
