We really got an all star caliber player and didn’t even have to move BI. We still probably will, but man this trade was such good value

While I was very intrigued after Trae was reportedly interested in coming to NOLA…

Dejounte Murray’s contract is straight up roster porn, such good value for a player of his caliber. 2 years at just under 30m and then he has a player option (which I imagine we would just extend him beforehand if the relationship is mutually good).

Not moving BI and still having him as a bargaining chip for an upgrade at starting center is massive.

Dude averaged 9.2 assists and 2.6 turnovers on the tanking spurs. Imagine what he would do with Zion, Trey, and maybe CJ to pass to.

Yeah he’s not a shooter but neither is BI and he averaged twice as many shots on the same percentages as BI his last season.

Plus, he has the ability to play like an All defense player (he hasn’t lately but Willie gets his guys to bring it all in).

I like him as a BI replacement.

  4. For the love of everything please make him the Lonzo role again

Meaning let the true point guard set up the all stars and scorers. Let him be the one mainly running the offense and let BI and Zion focus on tearing shit up with less responsibility on their plates to do EVERYTHING

I’m very happy with this. That they can now move BI specifically for a big, that’s great.

And now Hawkins may actually get PT!

Murray, Jones, BI, Zion, ______. With Alvarez, Muphey III, Valenciunas, and McCollum off the bench is a dangerous squad.

This is a glorious day. And I don’t have to worry about Trae Young anymore 🔥🔥🔥

  8. Casual fan here

Is this a big get for us? I saw we lost Dyson and Nance. I’ve always liked Nance and Dyson had some potential to be pretty good.
