I know this is the ideal fit, and please correct me if I’m wrong, but wouldn’t we basically be unable to max one of Chet or JDub if we first max Lauri and have SGA? If so, it seems like a non starter to even try for Lauri, no matter how good he looks on paper.

Ainge will require too many assets and Lauri is going into the final year of his contract. He’s too expensive and other players will become available who will be easier to acquire that won’t impact your cap situation as severely as he will.
Be patient. The right deal will come along, like the Caruso trade, that won’t break the bank but be meaningful and impactful.

That is a helluva lot for an expiring contract, and I’d only do it we can extend him like we can Caruso OR the Jazz do a “sign & trade” to get us at least two seasons guaranteed.
Dieng is the great question mark because if he’s much more developed after significant G-league time, he could solve a lot of issues coming off the bench in what will basically be his NBA debut.
