[Scotto] The Lakers tendered a qualifying offer to guard Max Christie, which makes him a restricted free agent, @hoopshype has learned. The 21-year-old appeared in 67 games for the Lakers last season. He’s expected to be one of the more sought after young wings in free agency.

He’s sought after and we haven’t even been playing him… Just shows what Ham was missing but plenty of other teams and us see

  2. We have to keep him. It would be nuts to let him go, considering his ceiling.

I really wish he develops with us in the coming years and does not get traded. His play reminds me of Ingram, who grew into a star when he started for Pels.

Max is interesting because he’s a 3 and D player but can’t do much outside of that. Not a great dribbler and passer, not great at midrange and driving to the basket. If he’s not shooting a 3 or playing D, he’s kind of a deer in headlights. But the game has evolved to where 3 and D are the most important things in a role player.

Max has great potential, we seen flashes of it the last two seasons. Hopefully Rob and Jeanie can see that. JJ will use him right

  6. for the first time in a while, the Lakers have almost the same roster returning. With that chemistry it’s going to be a fun season

Will Bronny take away his minutes? Hope not. Max can hit 3’s and would succeed in JJ”s system.

Gotta retain him. He’s the exact profile of player we need and that JJ should love

  9. Can’t wait until we have him on a Reaves style value deal.

  10. Please give this young man a consistent role🤞🏽🤞🏽

We completely misused him with his playing time and as a garbage time ball handler

Stayed professional the entire year, we’re gonna regret this if someone outbids us

I really hope he stays so we can properly use his 3&D skills

Someone’s going to have to be traded. Lakers in the 2nd apron with this. Moves are coming I’m guessing

Fuck Cam Reddish bum ass stealing all his minutes. I hated that pick up the moment it was announced.

  14. What would be an ideal contract for Max?

I’d like to keep him for 3 years/$25 million with a team option. If other teams want to offer him over $11m a year I’d let him walk.

Hamas clueless on how to use him. Can’t wait to see him get minutes this year under JJ.

JJ can convince him to stay. Ham barely played him and Christie would look scared when he was out there because he wouldn’t get enough reps
