what are teams saying what are you hearing about him this is Bob breaking news listen so I think we all can imagine what the goal is for Rich Paul in that in that in that situation but there’s a difference Malik between hoping that happens and making sure that happens and I think what I’m hearing is there’s an effort to that happens meaning whoever’s picking between now and a certain number is being told don’t do it if you’re thinking about it don’t do it and and the question is a lot of people watching might say well you can do whatever you want you got the pick well it’s a little more complicated in that you don’t want to waste the pick one and you don’t want to get in a situation where you have a player that you’re drafting not wanting to be there and so and this particular agency has some a lot of other players so it all factors into the equation no no no questions no I’m kidding yes go ahead go ahead why are we just hearing this he’s been projected to go somewhere around 5455 Celtics lak is that kind of thing maybe a touch earlier why is it on the day of the draft you or you w can answer this question why on the day of the draft we hearing the message has been clear all NBA draft the Philadelphia 76ers select ADM Bona from Eboni Nigeria and UCLA [Applause] Adam Bona the Pack 12 defensive player of the year he moved from Nigeria to Turkey when he was 13 years old he grew up playing soccer and he started playing basketball the same year he moved at 13 he’s the youngest of five siblings he’s getting to share this with some of his family members in a clean double be the best athlete in the draft 74 wingspan incredibly explosive no one plays harder in this draft than a Dem Bona covers ground all over the floor terrific offensive rebounder shot blocker gets in passing Lanes ADM Bona is on all likelihood going to be on a real roster spot next year in Philadelphia and he has a chance to play real minutes behind Joel embiid and now he is with our Cassidy huers Sam you just started playing basketball at the age of 13 what does it feel like to be drafted in the NBA today um it means the world to me um I represent a lot of people um I represent two countries um I know back home they’re really proud of me um it means everything for me to be standing here right now born in Nigeria I I I understand that you modeled your game after Yannis Sant DMO growing up how do you feel his influence will impact what we see out on the court next year um I think you probably going to see a lot of yianis and me Relentless do everything for his team to win hard working um being in a position like this just gives me the opportunity to represent myself pretty well congratulations back to you Malika Cassidy thank you this pick right now is staying in Philadelphia at amb Bona joining Jared McCain who was picked 16th overall out of Duke yesterday so now the Charlotte Hornets are on the clock Charlotte staying with that 4C pick uh but Charlotte’s in a really interesting spot this is the first uh draft that we’re seeing for Jeff Peterson their new head coach Charles Lee what are their plans for for this immediate future here well they got a great piece last year in Brandon Miller at number two this is a this this is a player with real star potential and you know uh lamelo ball certainly they hope they can keep him healthy he’s shown he can be an All-Star there are some young pieces is in place you know miles Bridges is going to be interesting he’s a free agent they would like to keep him they would like to keep him at a certain price he’s got course his teammate Cody Williams went 10th to the Jazz Tristan D Silva went 18th to Orlando he was an all Pack 12 First Team selection and we all remember of course when he hit the game-winning tournament against Florida Jonathan what impact is he going to have here for Charlotte Malika KJ C was in my view the best player in the Pack 12 under size at just 6’1 in shoes but an absolute bucket getter mies pull-ups from in inside the arc and outside of it um floaters around the hoop can pass off a live dribble plays at different speeds KJ Simpson has a lot of craft to his game he’s got a little bit of uphill battle on the defensive end but I think he’s got a fighting chance with his scoring instincts H thanks Malika KJ you are one of the most improved players in college basketball this season well first I I see the emotion what are you feeling right now oh man I just went through so much to get here and to be here in this moment have my parents right here you know everybody back in the hotel room everybody I supported back home nobody expect me to be here so oh man it just feels good it feels good but it’s I know it’s not over and I just can’t wait to go and keep proving
