[Reinhardt] Without much cap flexibility and a plan to rebuild the next two seasons, I’d expect the Nets to target “second chance” players who are looking for more playing time & a change of scenery in FA. Jalen Smith, James Wiseman, Markelle Fultz, KJ Martin, Saddiq Bey fit the bill, among others.

Fultz is the most interesting one on this list. Would be a lot of good vibes if he did well in Brooklyn. Also would be funny having him and Ben on the same team.

I know we joke about needing “tank commanders”. But we can also use this time to see if any busts can revive their careers. We did it early on in Marks tenure
I’ll pass on Wiseman, give us higher floor guys who have lost minutes, but still have a chance of cracking the rotation on a good team. I’m always wary about picking up random lottery picks who have all the physicals but haven’t put it together. Iron sharpens iron, on paper it seems like the right risk, but in practice when you field a team of incompetent players, sometimes everyone gets worse. And considering we already have a guy in Cam Thomas who we are focusing our efforts into, surrounding him with low iq and bad feel basketball players could hurt his growth a lot.
Just a reminder for any newer nets fans that weren’t around in 2016 when Sean Marks took over our dumpster fire – this is what he does best.
Spencer dinwiddie, Joe Harris, Deangelo Russel are the three best example. All 3 were either tossed aside or out of the league when marks brought them in. All 3 had complete career resurgences because of their time with the nets
I’d love to get baby Kenyon on the team. We definitely need more hyper-athletic guys on the squad.
KJ Martin would be cool, Fultz is a rich man’s DSJ so he works too. Bey, Smith, and Wiseman probably want too much money to make sense for our tank.

Kj for the vibes. Would have loved beyond in a team trying to win but not anymore. Stay bad as possible.
