Timberwolves trade for ROB DILLINGHAM

so the San Antonio Spurs just drafted Rob Dillingham with their eighth overall pick a guy that’s maybe the most skilled player in the draft one of the most interesting players in the draft a guy that shot 48% from the field 44 from three 80 from the free throw line and just hit ridiculous shots in college tough floaters smothered by the defense crazy flashy handle can hit crazy J jump shots with Flare to him kicking his legs up he’s definitely got some sauce in his game some shades of Jamal Crawford bones Highland Tyrese Maxi Emanuel quickley he’s in that mold and generally I don’t love that type of player when you look at most championship teams they don’t have a guy shorter than 6’4 that isn’t very um strong and a great defender when they do have those smaller guys they are normally um terrific and you know fairly physical like a Jamal Murray um you know the Celtics smallest guy was Drew holiday and with Rob Dillingham I kind of worried about him as a number one overall not number one a top 10 pick because he played no defense and just that style of player worries me a little bit but what I said was for a team like the Spurs that would be a great pick and so for the Spurs it’s a great pick because his defense was the worst out of any film any player I watched in the top 30 it’s not just that he’s small and very skinny it’s that his effort stunk he would just reach at a player and then just let him go by him in like big moments too like horrible defensive the worst defender in this draft probably by a wide margin but when you have wanyama arguably the best defender in the NBA moving forward behind you when you’ve got Stefan Castle you just drafted who’s known for being Defender guy that does the little things the winning things to pick up the slack in that area even a soan kind of like that too you can afford to draft a bucket getter that’s what they did but at number eight overall taking a risk on the guy that is as talented and could score the way Dillingham can maybe the best score in this draft to go with his worst defense I’m not mad at that for the Spurs at all I like that the Spurs got him because he’d be very frustrating on a team that really needs defense watching them go out there and just get Buckets but for a team that has the Defenders that they do now now you can appreciate the stuff that he does well if the Hornets drafted him it’d be like oh my goodness lamelo ball with him this is just disastrous there’s no defense being played out here but for the Spurs when you’ve got guys to cover up his mistakes and a team that needs a bucket getter it’s a match that we love good draft for the Spurs so far both in fit and guys from where they got him Talent skill all that stuff I think the Spurs have had a good draft and I’m happy as an NBA fan that you get to see a talent of Rob Dillingham going to a place that can kind of hide the weaknesses and where we can appreciate the stuff that he does well as Zack Edy just got drafted ninth overall by the Grizzlies very interesting but let me know what y’all think drop a comment hit that like And subscribe please yes sir bir

  1. I could see Wolves culture driving and inspiring Dillingham to work harder on his defense. He will naturally add some bulk with age but always be undersized. Not mad at the trade, just have some concerns.
