Thunder PURSUING Lauri Markkanen TRADE… Major Woj Update | Thunder News

Lori marinan is back on the trade market as the Utah Jazz are willing to listen to trade offers for him but yet it’s going to take something that is out of this world for them to actually send Lori to another team and the Oklahoma City Thunder are right back on top as one of the teams looking to trade for him and probably one of the favorite teams to actually land Lori marinin if a trade were to happen for the Utah Jazz power forward and I definitely think this would make us contenders along with some of the cap space that we’d still have left sign guys along with reigning Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe on some longer term deals with the Thunder and I think these uh two moves that are kind of looking like they could happen for the Thunder one of them kind of 50/50 the other one looks for sure to happen would be Isaiah harste the for sure one signing with the Oklahoma City Thunder and then the one that’s 50/50 this proposed Lori Market an idea where we can potentially go after and trade for him I also talk about what a potential trade will look like later in this video but first and looking at the report here you know the Jazz are opening to listening to trade offers on Lori Marin per W Utah was seriously in on acquiring maau Bridges and now team’s wondering uh wonder if they will pivot to sell so it looks as though you know if they got maau Bridges they’re going to try to compete and actually make a little playoff run in the Western Conference now however it looks likely that they will kind of sell the team and start a little rebuilding option here as maybe Lori Markin doesn’t fit their plans and maybe they’re you know want to get something in return if he does leave them in free agency next season um Utah would like to keep Marketing in a perfect world but teams are preparing aggressive offers and it would take a great great deal to Prime Markin out of Utah and by the great great deal all right the Oklahoma City Thunder have draft capital and we have young prospects that we can offer Utah in exchange for Lori marke and and so I think we have the most that we can offer Lori in uh trade deals some other teams that could potentially try to go after him are the Philadelphia 76ers and maybe some other sleeper team that is out there a lot of people want to say the Lakers could potentially trade for him personally I don’t see it I don’t see what you know capital and young guys that they could trade over that Utah would be serious and obtaining the only two teams I could see that actually have a chance of going after Lori would be the Thunder and now maybe even the Sixers although there are a bunch of teams out there I look at it I’m just like I don’t see who can really compete keep with us in obtaining Lori Marin on the Thunder and yes it’s going to take a lot to off you know to pry Lori away but we knew it was going to take a lot in general and realistically we might not need to be a team that’s 12 men deep especially come playoff time so it might be good to trade away some of our guys and have a nine to 10 man rotation come playoff time and I think Lori would fit our team perfectly as well as the contracts that we trade over could also match up with Lori Markin and still give us space to sign hartenstein and resign signed Joan Wingin but going to an article I found by F report here kind of talking on it a little bit more all right teams are reportedly circling the Utah jazs in an effort to acquire onetime Allstar forward Lori Markin speaking Saturday on Sports Center ESPN NBA Insider W um said the Jazz want to keep markting and sign him to a contract extension this summer but teams are being aggressive in their pursuit of him uh WJ added that the Jazz had been in on the Macau Bridges sweep Stakes but after the Brooklyn Nets Trad him to the New York Knicks instead opposing teams are wondering if they may sell off pieces rather than trying to build around marketing going to other piece of the article here the Jazz already have a bounty of draft capital in the coming years thanks to the trades of Mitchell and Rudy gobear so while it never hurts to have more picks the Jazz would arguably benefit more from locking in a foundational player like marinan but given that marinin is arguably the best shooting big man in the NBA it isn’t outside the realm of possibility that the Jazz could receive an offer that is too good to refuse so like this Godfather type of offer is what I’m kind of getting from all these talks of what it’s going to take to get rid of you know Lori Markin on the Jazz and I think the Thunder can offer that when I look at what we have what we can offer over there I think it’s very you know AB doable to do that now I think it would take you know a guy like Usman Jang who we are very high on here in the Thunder uh you know family where we think he can really uh pan out and be a great play player as he’s still young and has shown signs of being a great power forward however I think Lori sets us up for instant success right now and I think we’re trying to win a title next year I think we are with some of the moves that we plan on making I think we’re trying to win a title and Lori would bring that to us next season rather than Usman Jen I think he could in like 2028 however I think there are some moves that we can make to still extend that you know this team that we have further along the line to like 2030 and 2031 so I think Lori Mar would be the better option out of the two because once again Lor Markin has established himself us has potential he has glimpses that he’s shown but yet we’re not sure if he’ll ever actually fully show in the Thunder organization if he never really gets the true minutes that he deserves so Lori mark would be great so I think a trade revolving you know around Markin would take uh us I think it would take Kendrick Williams and then maybe even get rid of case Wallace as well along with four first round picks I think that’s what a trade for Lori Markin would kind of look like salaries would match with those three players for Lori as well along with kind of going in there and getting rid of those draft picks I feel like we’d get rid of two first rounders that we have out of the four for uh next year’s draft and then you know two further and two uh draft picks further down the line probably a 2026 and a 20128 would be my guess we get rid of some more first round picks there but definitely two for next year and I think that’d be a decent trade package I don’t want to say it’d be great I feel like the Jazz would definitely look at it and it might be a deal that they would end up accepting because case W has shown you know promis in the league he’s already kind of come out as one of the better perimeter defenders in the league um as a rookie last season and then us has potential Kendrick Williams is just kind of getting rid of a contract a veteran that has established himself that can kind of help develop some of the guys you know being mentors to some of the guys on the Utah Jazz in the first round picks of course you can never have too many of those even though they have a good amount adding four more first rounders so the mix can definitely help out a team I think that could probably Lori Markin away and Lori marinan is a great player when we look at the stats here he is a fantastic fantastic player last season he averaged 23 points a game eight rebounds two assists uh almost a seal game half a block a game so not really you know known as a rim protector but he has that size which can help out uh less than two turnovers a game less than 2,000 game 48% from the field and just there at 40% from behind the arc we’re going to go ahead and round that up that’s 0.1 away we’re going to round it up to 40 all right he’s 7 foot tall 27 years old so he’s still young uh he shoots 43% on Corner threes 98% of his threes are assisted and 49% of all his shots are three balls and I think this could definitely help us out three-point wise adding him to the four and it can still allow us to run this five out style of offense that we can because he can shoot the three ball he’s not limited to playing inside and slashing he can do all that and he can still shoot the three ball which allows us to play this five out style of offense that we clearly love to have here in OKC kind of smaller but yet he adds size he helps us out rebounding wise and if you add in hartenstein to the bench on this team I truly don’t see how we don’t win the 2025 finals I truly don’t see that unless we go cold again like we did against the Mavericks which was kind of you know insane I think some of that is just because of lack of playoff experience environment just is the same but I think going into next season that won’t happen again and adding those two guys on the team and keeping Wiggins and Joe I think we can be title contenders and actually win it all in 2025 I truly believe that Alex cruso Off the Bench as well you have Isaiah uh Isaiah Joe Aaron Wiggins Jay will and Isaiah hartenstein running your second unit that’s a great second unit if you ask me you have Isaiah Joe he’d have to run the point I believe himmer cruo would run the point the other would run the two uh Wiggins would play the three Jay will at the four and hartstein at the five that’s a great second unit for us all right they can go toe toe with all the other you know second units in the league and some of them could also compete with some starters such as Alex kuso and Isaiah hartenstein and then our starting five of course would be Shay Lou Dort who’s one of the best defenders in the league definitely top five in my list um Jay dub who’s has a ton of potential and he’s been shining a lot next year can be a big development year for him Lori Markin at the four then Chad at the five that 10-man rotation I don’t see a lot of teams competing with I don’t the only team that could compete with that would be the Celtics but yet they’re not going to have Cris stops until I think January and that might not be enough time to get back into the groove of things in actual play and yes injuries play a part we could get injured on the Thunder a lot of other teams could get injured though all right in a perfect world if no one gets injured I see us facing the Celtics in the finals and potentially even winning the finals against them I could see us winning in seven against the Celtics I see that adding these additions I we can be a 65 win team adding lorri and hartenstein to this to the squad I truly see that and yes we’re going to have to give up some guys that you know are young have potential can be great players in the league realistically they were going to have to go anyways when you look at it for other trades or you know we wouldn’t be able to resign them some of those guys would have to go so you might as well okay right now get someone in return and I think this would also allow us to resign Lori Markin on a good deal he gets something close to macal Bridges as well a deal where he can make you know over the next three years $ 48 to $50 million and so it’s kind of like similar to what he is right now 18 million you know is just left on his final year of his contract I think he’s a guy that’s worth you know 20 to 25 million he’s one of the more you know perennial big uh power forwards in the league however I don’t think he’s a guy that’s worth 30 million quite yet I don’t think he’s worth that much yet however he’d be a great addition to the team not taking that away from him at all I just think you know it could set us up for long-term success we can keep him there’s still a way we can keep Dove and Chad as well and then also L Dort we could have the same starting five for a few years and then the bench just filling in with solid role players we’re going to be able to lock down wickens and Joe for another three to four years you have that Alice Caruso as well potentially lock him down so you have at least eight guys right there that you’ll have long term for a while maybe even jwell as well he could be a guy I can see taking a pay cut to stay with this team all that be left is finding a backup center for the next few years after hartenstein eventually leaves because of a contract this is also saying if we do sign him but if I’m the Thunder after laying all this out looking towards the future I think Lori Markin next season for sure gives us really good odds at winning the finals and I think we have to try to trade for them as long as we don’t trade any of our starters it’s fine trade some of our bench guys that can be good assets for Utah in the future and also guys that probably in the future wouldn’t be getting much time with us or eventually leave anyways I he might as well get Lori marinin in return and see if you can resign him even then having him for next season if we win a championship I don’t care if we make the finals I don’t care all right it makes us a better team for sure and then maybe if he sees that and sees all this growth and potential he takes a pay cut to save the team that way he can win a ring because that is very possible you’re seeing with a few players now in the league and so if I’m Sam pry I calling Danny a right now and I am trying to trade for Lori Markin I’m putting together a package that he absolutely can’t refuse that doesn’t involve any of our starters but let me know in the comments if you guys think you know we should trade for Lor Markin or stick in free agency also let me know a trade package that you guys think would be realistic for the Utah Jazz to send over Lori marketer to thunder let me down in the comments and I’ll see you guys in the next video

Free Agency is kicking off, and the Thunder are looking to trade for a starting forward rather than sign one. With their eyes set on signing Hartenstein, they may also try and trade for Utah Jazz power forward Lauri Markkanen. Bryson Akins breaks down what a trade for Lauri would look like, and if it is possible the Thunder have the best odds of landing him.

  1. i think it is better to have a 11-12 man rotation personally. injuries happen and having those extra guys ready to go would help during those times. especially since OKC can afford it right now. it also prevents injuries making everyones load a little lighter throughout the season. i could be wrong though.

  2. Presti isn't in a hurry. I think cam Johnson is much more likely. But, still don't think either happens. If they do great we will all go crazy, but hartenstein doesn't make us that much better. I say sit tight roll with what we got and take a shot at the deadline.

  3. Here's my offer Topic Osumane Deing Isaiah Joe and 4 first for Lauri
My thing with giving up Wallace is he is a really good defender and I'd give up Joe than an elite defender in Wallace

  4. Isaiah Hartenstein.."one looks for sure to happen. Hartenstein looks for sure to sign with the Thunder"…So if Hartenstein signs w/ the Thunder, then you deserve A LOT OF CREDIT for calling it first. Of course; if Hartenstein doesn't sign with OKC, then Thunder fans should take out their frustration & anger on you for falsely raising their expectations.

  5. I don't really know how the recently signed rookie restriction works, but if I were to make a trade for Lauri, I would rather trade one of the new rookies that we signed than Cason Wallace, Cason has proved he is going ot be a solid guard in the future. He was getting key minutes and he brought an incredible 3 and D prescense off the bench.
