[Buha] The Lakers have struck out on three of the players LeBron James was reportedly willing to take a pay cut for. DeMar DeRozan is another name to watch for, as ESPN first reported. Otherwise, it’s unclear if there’s another player that reaches that threshold.

Rob dumpster diving in Miami as we speak

  2. James Harden was never an option, Klay didn’t want MLE, I don’t know why we didn’t go for JV.

  3. bagustin8

Bron prob taking max now. What’s plan B, Rob?!

  4. GeorgeLovesBOSCO

What a shitty off season already. 1 day into free agency and I’m ready to simulate until next off season.

  5. LALyfestyle

I think Demar will come on full MLE. We just need to trade D’Lo for an athletic point guard though

  6. I really fucking doubt LeBron actually had Jonas Valanciunas on his list of players he’d take a pay cut for lol

  7. lol Rob struck out on 3 of Lebron targets and people will still defend him. Nasty work hiring a player agent as a GM.

  8. We always have to overpay to get shit done because the rest of the league hates the boogeyman, so it is what it is. Get something done to win another chip while we have 2 top 10-15 players on the roster.

  9. RIP Klay Thompson: Los Angeles Laker (2024-2024)

So now this fan base is going to start thinking DeRozan is going to take the MLE and he will end up going to some other team. Then our only hope is Rob making trades and once that doesn’t happen the report will be they’re waiting for the trade deadline.

Lmao Lakers and getting rejected in free agency name a better duo

  12. LoveTheHustleBud

Lebrons paycut being public and not a convo behind closed doors was just to make Rob look bad. Harden signed for 35M but is being used as a “Rob couldn’t get it done” name. Klay getting more than the mle. Jonas got a guaranteed starting spot.

Now sub is (as expected) blaming Rob for Klay not wanting to sign for 12M. Bron gets his max and good PR

  13. Pats_Lakers1224

So why are we crying over klay thompson again?

  14. randomhero_92

Again, Derozan IS NOT signing with the lakers for the MLE. He can easily get 25m+ elsewhere.

  15. WeCantBothBeMe

LeBron was probably not willing to take a pay cut for anyone besides Klay if the report of him calling him during FA was true. Let’s not start this false narrative lol. A pay cut for JV? Demar? Harden was going to take the MLE? Yeah right.

  16. JayRod24_

Doubt he comes on the MLE and regardless I hate the fit.

  17. Guys all the players listed are looking for their last big payday. Lakers unfortunately only got the MLE only because LeBron is willing to give a discount. That just isn’t enough for these guys. They are not prioritizing winning or don’t believe they can win with the Lakers and are choosing $$. DeMar the last player left LeBron willing to discount for.

This whole offseason so far is like having the bases loaded and ultimately striking out

  19. lakerconvert

We don’t need any of these guys man. Sexton and Kessler and we’re golden

  20. freeminded3

Always felt like none was realistic and all of this was to give off the impression of being willing to take a pay cut lol

  21. Blame Rob all you want, nobody is lining up to play with LeBron and be a scapegoat, especially for less money.

  22. Granpa2021

Demar is not a good fit. He never was. He’s a mid-range guy and average defender at best. Rob dropped the ball again.

Ever since Dr. Buss passed away, I have seen the reality of this franchise. Dr. Buss would be driving around in an old VW Bus around the NBA talking to the free agents that he wanted, he would convinced them to join the bus, and never let them get out without a contract in hand. On the other hand his sons and daughter, are driving a lambo that their father left them after all his work with the tools to get it done, and they can’t convince one god damn player to jump on board. They have struck out on free agency have no idea how many years it’s just freaking sad

  24. JDangle20

Incoming posts about “Let Rob cook at the deadline” for scraps.

  25. locust098

Were not making any trades this year. Were stuck with the team we have. Im not getting my hopes up this front office has a collective brain cell of a wooden chair

  26. Zealousideal-Tea-837

They should just go ahead and trade for Lavine lol especially if Bron is willing to take a cut and use the Mle on as couple different rotational players

  27. Well, if he wants to win, he’ll have to take a paycut.

We can’t win paying Lebron 50M+ per year given his age associated limitations.

If he wants the full max, he’s more than entitled to it considering how much money he brings in for the franchise, but if winning is his top priority, he should be taking less than max money.

  28. dawgoooooooo

lol yall gotta remember how we felt going into this offseason, we can’t do much and need to make sure it’s the right move. We’re getting creative and seeing what can happen, it just might end up that the best move is to stay put
