[Hine] On [Markkanen] Minnesota interest here … any trade the Wolves attempt to make as a 2nd apron team would be hard to execute, and Wolves have no first-round draft capital left to deal currently outside of (I believe) a 2028 swap. Strange things happen but hard to see how it comes together.

  1. There’s just no way the Jazz do it without picks after seeing the Bridges trade

The only realistic path would be a 3-team trade where KAT gets dealt for stuff that gets rerouted to Utah.

    For example:

    Wolves Give:
    – KAT
    – Dillingham
    – 2028 Swap
    – Unprotect the ‘29 pick (top 4 protected)

    Wolves Get:
    – Markkanen
    – Sexton

    Golden State Gives:
    – Kuminga
    – Wiggins
    – Looney
    – Payton
    – 2025 1st
    – 2027 1st (protected)

    Golden State Gets:
    – KAT

    Utah Gives:
    – Markannen
    – Sexton

    Utah Gets:
    – Kuminga
    – Dillingham
    – Wiggins
    – Payton
    – Looney
    – 2025 first
    – 2027 first (protected)
    – 2028 swap (Minnesota)
    – 2029 pick protection removal (top 4 removed)

If the Wolves traded for Lauri, I’d rather keep KAT and send Jaden. Yes, KAT’s contract is awful, but he’s a better player than Jaden and this would be an all-in sort of move. A lineup of Conley, Ant, Lauri, KAT, & Rudy is insane offensively. Defensively, we’d get worse without Jaden but we’d still have a lot of size.

No thanks. I don’t think Lauri is better than KAT on our team, especially defensively and rebounding wise, and I don’t think Lauri would make us the clear favorite in the West.

Would probably be something like Naz and Terrence Shannon as the core package. I don’t think they’ll be able to retain Naz moving forward… any package around KAT or Gobert would be ridiculously hard to pull off and would change the team outlook too much.

So you trade Kat to save 25 million? If you resign Lauri it will start at 25 mil a year

  7. yourloudneighbor

Can Lauri guard Jokic? No? Forget about it

No way I’m trading towns for markkanen. It doesn’t make the team better, just a cost saving move

As a Jazz fan who loves the wolves because of Mike and Rudy, I can say that this is a silly rumor. Y’all don’t have picks and the only player we’d be interested in would be Edwards who won’t be traded.

Notice how you guys won’t say Naz Reid when you talk about trading him. Pathetic. Cowardice. Say it with pride now and forever.

Tim won’t it unless it makes the team better
