    I’ll believe it when I see it in an NBA game. I’d be so happy if he started shooting free throws this quickly in real games.

    Giannis looks leaner in that clip. I’m happy that he’s being coached by someone that can help him with his game. Good luck to him and all the players on the Greek national team. I hope they surprise people and do well in the Olympics.

  3. Now, this is looking promising. Before you guys come with the “It’s FIBA rules, he has 5 seconds to get it from receiving to shot”, he used to take way longer than the permitted 5 seconds last time, just look at [this ](https://youtu.be/Wrf3LLUpIlg?t=1432)or [this](https://youtu.be/Wrf3LLUpIlg?t=1901). He’s doing his routine AT MOST 1 to 2 seconds faster, taking at least 10 seconds every time, which is like 2x the allowed amount.

    Analyzing the times he shot, this is the table:

    |FT Number|Time (s)|Start Frame|End Frame|Note|
    |:-|:-|:-|:-|:-|
    |1|3.8|25|139||
    |2|4.4|236|368||
    |3|N/A|N/A|N/A|He heads back to center field, doesn’t count.|
    |4|4.57|963|1100||
    |5|4.4|1200|1332||
    |6|4.7|1423|1564||
    |7|6.5|1730|1925|He turned his head and still was 4s faster than his normal routine…|
    |8|4.57|2032|2169||
    |9|4.4|2322|2454||
    |10|6.17|2585|2770|He receives the ball at the elbow, has to restart the routine, and still makes it.|
    |11|4.77|2869|3012||

    As you can see, he’s taking a relatively consistent speed between 4.4 to 4.75 seconds (when he’s not doing random shit), and this would be amazing cause it looks way smoother.

  4. It’s nice how he’s keeping it closer to his body. He should always be doing that

  5. Idc if his percentage stays flat of he’s at least shooting quicker lol

    This is what I have been saying for years with Giannis. He has to just start shooting without thinking. Free throws, open catch and shoot 3, pull up 3, or just any other shot he wants to attempt. He just has to do it without a thought in his head that he might miss. Just pull the trigger and it is what it is. But by hesitating and then having to get a dribble in to attempt the 3 or he takes a few steps in and shoots that long 2, the defense is able to collapse and take away his drive. By having a quick shot, the defense will have to start playing that a bit more and can open up his drives to the basket with much Fewer guys in the paint.

    Nice! That hitch at the top of his motion still looks screwy, but if it works it works.

    Still amazed sometime just watching Giannis and thinking about the journey he’s been through and what he’s proven to himself and the world. Dude’s as inspiring as it gets, we’re so lucky to have him.

    Every other team in the league are crying tears of joy rn

    I never cared how long it took him but you can clearly see teams lose it over him taking 10+ seconds lol

    SMOOTH. Shooting is a fluid motion & he was SO robotic at the line. This looks WAYYY better!

  11. as long as he shoots it quicker im fine with missing them idgaf

    everything about giannis’ shot looks better when he’s speeding it up. even after whistles in games he shoots 3s so much faster and more confidently and they’re always all net

  13. Love this but important to note that I think he will sometimes take longer in game because he’s trying to catch his breath. When you play all out like Giannis does it can be exhausting.

    Hasn’t it always been the case that in practice he shoots free throws well, but once he’s in the game he struggles?
