He’s retiring just three years since his last Celtics game

Shoutout to Kemba for the positive vibes. When he scored he scored in bunches i was always so impressed at how fast he could get buckets.

The end of the 2019 season was DARK.
He was the first person to look at the Jays and say “yeah they up next”
Completely changed the vibe of the team when we needed it
2019-20 season was super fun

Kemba at his prime chose Boston after the 2019 disaster season and was more than fine with letting Tatum take over the team. Will always be thankful for that

His stint wasn’t a disaster for us. Pre Covid Kemba was dynamite. Hats off to a great career.

don’t let people forget that Kemba was a All Star starter when he played for us
was special until Nick Nurse ruined him

Could not have asked for a more humble and amazing human to guide the Jays. Fuck the injuries, Kemba on the Hornets was so unreal. All the best to Kemba.

Much respect to Kemba for a great career

One of the [top Kemba Celtics games](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIfvxcxACc0&ab_channel=TomaszKordylewski) for me was the play in game against the Wizards in 2021. Backs up Tatum’s 50 with 29 and puts his body on the line to draw a bunch of charges. A lot of people (including the Celtics) saw the writing on the wall that he was cooked but I was still talking myself into him being able to be a high level 6th man. Say whatever you want about Kemba, he had a ton of heart, even though his knee was letting him down

I’ll never forget the run Kemba helped UConn achieve in the 2011 Big East then NCAA tournament. I watched every one of those games with the utmost excitement. I picked them to win as soon as the Big East championship game was over on all my brackets because of how phenomenal Kemba was in leading that squad.
Thank you Kemba, you were a fantastic player and a joy to witness.

We will always love you in Boston Kemba. Congrats on it all!

I like to think that as loudly as we boo Kyrie, would be as loudly as we cheer Kemba. He came in and healed the wounds Kyrie tore in the team.

I was a huge Kemba fan. Loved him at UConn, was happy to see him on the Celtics. He fell of a cliff so hard. But don’t forget he played some meaningful minutes in important games.

Really sucks his knees failed him. This team isn’t where it is today without him. Wishing him the best in his next chapter!

The eighth-handed Isaiah Thomas.

People won’t remember how GREAT he was 2017 to 2020.
Thank you Kemba. All the best!!!

I wanted nothing more than his knees to hold out for us, I loved his sacrifice and his leadership to shift us away from what could have been a dangerous rut. Will always be a Celtic in my eyes.

Always seemed like a good guy and good teammate. He was really fun to watch, and it’s a shame his decline was so rapid.
