Lakers & Heat After Demar Derozan! Demar Derozan Updates

what’s going on everyone so first we were waiting for Klay Thompson uh and to see what decision was he going to make and now it’s DeMar rosen we’re all anxiously waiting around for is dear coming to the Lakers or is he not we’ve gotten some updates in regards to the deardo Rosen front uh first off it appears that he’s not interested in taking the mid-level exception now that could always change depending on how the market shapes up and whether there’s actually uh able to work out a sign in trade but it’s also looking like he may be interested in just taking a one-year deal and then kind of going into free agency next season when more teams have cap space and then he can maybe get a bigger deal then where it’s kind of limited right like the only teams that actually have significant c space are all you know kind of the bottom feeding teams and yes he wants money but he also doesn’t want to be you know not playing in June so it’s one of those things where he’s got to kind of make up his mind on what does he want to do and it’s getting to the point where it’s like if you’re the Lakers you you almost have to like force his hand at this point right I’m not saying you have to do it today you can give it a day or so like nothing’s really happened especially today it’s been very just boring and the Lakers more likely than not any kind of upgrades or significant upgrades are all coming from trades anyway so the Lakers should still be fine in that department but you got to at some point pick a direction and just tell dear like look if you really want to come here what is it going to take for you to come here and then evaluate if it’s worth it or not and then if he’s like ah I don’t know like I want okay well then sorry dude like we just missed out on Clay taking too long we need to go a different direction and then if there’s room for you we’d love to still have you but there is a chance we might not need you like at what point do you kind of just force theor D rozen’s hand and just say hey it’s time to it’s time to come to a conclusion right because there’s also reports that have came out which you know you’re kind of scouring through the various reports and you know some say one thing some say the other so I’m just trying to go off of just the consensus that we’re seeing in reports and some say that he may take his time that he’s not in a rush um to to go and just take the mid-level exception or or work out some type of deal luckily Chicago is open and willing to facilitate and work out a sign in trade for dear Rosen there was also through Jake fiser uh talks that the Brooklyn Nets could potentially be a third team so mentioned a video earlier today or late last night actually about uh that potential three team trade so it’s just again it’s kind of scattered all over the place but you do now have the Miami Heat that are making a strong push for uh the Chicago Bulls deara Rosen that they’re very interested in working out a sign and trade the Miami Heat are kind of you know whispering in dear’s ear of like hey come here don’t go to the Lakers stay on the east coast and let’s go try to contend for a championship over here um now there are reports that Pat Riley might have kind of ruined it because he offered Demar de rozan basically a vet minimum deal I think it was like 5 million or something like that so a little more but dear basically was like nah that ain’t happening and the question is like what can the heat end up giving up that makes sense for the Bulls now look the Bulls could there’s probably several pieces that maybe make sense but are the heat really going to look to trade like are you trading Tyler hero to go get demard Rosen looks like the Bulls kind of want to do what basically the Warriors did and just not really take back any salaries or anything uh just kind of wipe him off the books and get some Assets in return so Miami may even have to find a third team if they’re going to pull off that type of trade uh and also it boils down to how much does dear want dear wants like 30 million or something like that then no you got to stay away I mean at that point if you’re the Lakers and let’s say dear wants 30 million I would rather go get Zack LaVine I know Zack lavine’s 43 million but you’re probably having to give up the same amount of players and pieces to go get dear as you would Zack LaVine so at that point and Zack LaVine would come with a first he’d come with an asset right so I’d rather just take on the extra 13 million and get Zack Len who’s the better fit right look I like demaro r rozan a lot I know a lot of people have concerns about his fit and his age the guys led the league in fourth quarter uh minutes fourth quarter points right the guy’s been one of the best closers in the league he’s been you know one of the best crunch time players like he would be great there’s more to floor spacing than just shooting threes I think another big aspect is his ability to just go get a bucket it’s something the Lakers don’t really have something that the Lakers really need there’s a million reasons why I think demard Rosen would be excellent on the Lakers I just think a lot of people are looking at his well he doesn’t shoot threes right it’s fine as long as you have the other pieces cap around him which is why they’d have to get more than just deardo Rosen I don’t think the Lakers adding dearo rzan immediately makes them the best team in the league or anything like that I definitely think it’s a huge stride in the right direction but to me you got to get demard de Roan and then you know can you get a cam Johnson or can you get a Jeremy Grant or somebody else to where it’s like okay now you have and you’re starting to see the pieces shape up and I don’t mind working out a sign and trade for DeMar rosen because we’d still have that full midlevel exception which we could use to go sign somebody else right could you go get a miles Bridges right would he be willing to kind of do that for a year to kind of just you know potentially get a bigger payday and kind of raise his stock like you look at stuff like that it’s like okay I mean obviously it depends on what you’re getting for 13 million if you’re turning the 13 million into like buddy healed well then that I wouldn’t be happy with but like if it’s like buddy hee and say tus Jones right okay well now we’re talking right and if you could turn the the midlevel exception it doesn’t have to necessarily be this huge piece but like if you could trade for dear trade for we’ll just say cam Johnson and then turn your mid-level exception into like a tius Jones and Buddy hee like that to me now you just basically now you are have enough to be a real Contender now you have enough pieces to really make an impact cuz now you’re basically 10 guys deep and they’re all upgraded better versions of what you already had so look I’m in full support of the Lakers kind of just being patient and waiting and see that’s fine I’m not saying that they have to really expedite this but last thing you want to do is kind of wait around too long for a guy that doesn’t want to come again and then now you’re going for Plan D E F and it’s just and then it starts to get to a point where it’s looking desperate and teams are going to take advantage of that teams are already trying to take advantage of the Lakers what’s going to happen when teams know you missed out on clay you missed out on dear now what right we’re your last line of defense luckily the market is a sellers market right it’s luckily the market is just heavily like everyone’s trying to sell all of their basically pieces on their roster you have several teams trying to tank and I think you’re just going to have more as the season progresses because a lot of people are going to be tanking for Cooper flag so as the Lakers being a team that are a buyer I do have confidence that they pull off some type of deal I do think that they get something done at some point it’s just win and again I I’d like to see kind of that first Domino you can go and trade for a Jeremy Grant and still go get demard rozan it’s not like if you go make a trade elsewhere then oh that means you’re out on Demar R Roa no to me pull off a move or if you if the only way if you know the only way to get DeMar rosen is via sign and trade then go make a heavy push for mil Bridges or something like that right and go use that mid-level exception because if dear is really not going to take the the mid-level exception then what are you waiting around to use that for right and then go work out like I said go get a Jeremy Grant and then you know evaluate okay do we still want dear or do we not you know oh yeah we’d still love to have dear okay fine then still go get dear right like it it’s clearly this battle there’s other teams that are in the mix um for deardo Rosen you have the the Clippers are a team that that is uh you know kind of been linked to Dear for a little while I just I think it’s really the Heat or the Lakers right I think the Lakers he wants to be a Lakers I mean he went on an entire campaign tour essentially right prestor talking about how badly he wanted to be a Laker and he thought he was going to be a Laker and all that stuff but he could also look slided you know it’s also possible that the Lakers might have blown it with him and you don’t think he forgot that he thought he was going to be a Laker and they chose you know Russell Westbrook over him you know so I mean that that’s another another option too but to me it’s just like how serious is Miami to go get dear because also it looks like Miami is going to let Jimmy Butler just walk after this year that you know there’s reports that they have no plans or intentions on working out any type of deal to to keep him longterm so it’s like all right so is this kind of like okay we’re just going to do tomorrow one year one last push kind of maybe clear some more salary if we can and then and then just kind of let everyone walk and hit the reset button is that something that they’re trying to do I mean that could be a possibility where maybe Miami’s looking and going like hey we’ll we’ll we’ll take him for 30 million for one year and and it will work out a sign in trade and we’ll take off some of these pieces and then now Miami goes in next season with like a ton of cap space like that could be a possibility right but is that something that Chicago wants right like does Chicago want pieces where you know the Lakers they at least have you know d’angel Russell who’s expiring right they have a couple other pieces that other teams may be interested in they could get a third team the Brooklyn Nets my Miami would probably still have to work out a third team in that deal also which third teams are always incredibly hard to work and figure out they’re always very difficult because you know all parties have to get what they want and then even when everyone feels like okay we’re good it’s finalized then somebody else goes ah you know what on second thought you know I feel like I’m getting fleeced here and then you know cuz everyone wants to feel like they won and so it’s hard enough to have just a one for one trade it’s you add a third team it just makes things so much more challenging cuz again everyone wants to feel like they that they got the better end of the deal rather than like oh well we all got fleeced and they they got everything that they wanted so anyway hopefully this process gets done sooner rather than later and demard Rosen ends up being a lak sooner rather than later so we kind of move into the next step cuz I don’t know if the Lakers are going to do anything until they figure out what’s going on with dear right because if dear comes then they probably go look for you know specific pieces to put around dear Reeves LeBron and ad if they end up going uh the route of you know uh say dear doesn’t come then I’m sure that they have other plans to go okay let’s go get these guys to build around Reeves LeBron and AD right so anyway as always this is a discussion pass question on you let me know thoughts and opinions down in the comments below what do you think how do you feel what are your thoughts uh do you think that the Lakers land Tomar do you think that they don’t I still lean towards I think dear will be a Laker I really do I again I could be wrong but he’s kind of the guy that I just feel like if if it’s not him I don’t know who who right like that’s kind of where the the Dilemma lies but we’ll see anyway let me know your thoughts and opinions down in the comments that being said if you haven’t liked this video hit that like button help me a lot me enjoy these types of videos and I truly appreciate it not subscribe Channel hit that subscribe button turn on the Bell notifications appreciate y’all see you in the next one thank you

Lakers have been trying to land NBA Free agent Demar Derozan. Lakers Trade for Demar Derozan is likely the only route to landing him but Lakers News has came out that this maybe a bit more complicated. The Miami Heat want Demar and could swoop in and land him instead of Lakers Nation.

  1. The lakers are not able to "Force" DeMar DeRozan's hand. Who else will the lakers trade for if Derozan doesnt sign in a week, or even a month? The lakers dont have the assets to pull off a serious trade, no one wants to trade with the lakers even if they did have assets, and no free agent wants to sign with the lakers for the money they're offering.

In reality, if the lakers dont land DeMar DeRozan, the lakers will likely be forced to run it back with the same, pathetic team, and Demar Derozan knows that.

Also, the whole "Going back home" thing is overrated as im sure Klay Thompson, who is also an LA native, was pitched that nonsense by the lakers as well before choosing the Mavs over the lakers for the lack of a state income tax and a much better chance to win a ring than if he sign with the lakers.

DeMar DeRozan aint coming to the lakers for a 12.9m MLE, which will likely be just $5 million after taxes.

  2. Maybe it doesn’t look good on paper, but you have to see how it goes in the regular season with the players and the coaching

  3. Demar in Lakers will lock up all his good traits. You won’t get the last-year version of him. Fit is more important than ppl think.

  4. Pat is so out for LBJ…
Dude still butt hurt because he left miami…most coaches/owners are…they will do are pay to keep him from winning ships…they know he get real help .
    They have no chance.

  5. Demar is not a good fit for the lakers. We don't need a sg or small forward. Lakers need a big first and then a 3 an D guy which is not Demar. It better be a smoke screen

  6. Austin Reeves is not a starting level of sg yet. The people in here saying we don't need a certified bucket getter(sg) are crazy 😂

  7. The best trade senarios is to trade rui, reveas, jhs, hayes and some pick for john collins, and kessler. Trade dlo, vincent, wood and some pick for cameron johnson, DFS from brooklyn.

    Starting line up
    Lebron, Christie, johnson, Collins, AD

    Bench
Tyus jones, DK, vando, DFs, kessler

  8. Man, this dude had a chance to join us before, but didn't. He said he could never live up to Kobe, so he wouldn't join the Lakers. He won't join us, he is just using us for leverage.

  9. I heard that the Lakers offered Klay Thompson 4 years 80M. If that's true, I don't blame Demar for not accepting the MLE. It's an insult. Plus I heard that Lebron is giving the Lakers 1 week before he leaves for Team USA training camp. And if they haven't signed anyone by then he's taking the max. The Lakers are screwed. 😂

  10. Why is no one reporting on the fact that no one wants to come play with LeBron because if the team loses it’s the teams fault. However if they win it’s Al because of LeBron

  11. Demar gives off Russ PTSD vibes: can’t shoot and needs the ball in his hands. This ain’t it please don’t do this just because he’s a big name. I’d rather keep our guys than sign this guy

  12. He’ll be a heat in a few days Rob is to dumb to make a trade Rob sometimes doesn’t even know how to open a door and just walks right into it

  13. Nuggets will not be as dominant and can be had. Nuggets won’t be a problem for the lakers so

    “We good in the west”
