uh so we followed up a little bit again not exactly sure what Mark Spears said on NBA TV as a or uh NBA today excuse me as it pertains to the Sacramento Kings and Demar de rozan uh but we followed up with a few people including some very very well-placed sources as it pertains to demard De Rosen uh and the exact quote I got back was yeah but I don’t see it going anywhere that’s as it pertains to the Sacramento Kings um so the Sacramento Kings and Demar de rozan have talked but again the the response we got back was uh they’ve talked but I don’t see it going any so okay just as quickly as that one started and ended couldn’t even get 30 minutes of content out of it grand opening Grand closing we got we got four minutes of content out of that tune in DLo on KC though if you want to know what’s going on that’s a shoot that’s for real for real that’s a shoot hey um nothing to it real real quick as we go back to tradeland um um how expensive are those tickets is it I hope it’s not as expensive as Disneyland nothing’s more expensive than Disneyland that that’s a lot going on Sor sorry will Z he just put together his Demar D Ro yeah you could store that one for later pal um so you know there been a lot of talk about Brandon Ingram uh and the Kings making a trade for for Brandon Ingram and all this other stuff um I decided to go to the streets I decided to go to the streets to New Orleans shout out to the no you know what it is Daddy Uptown Third Ward Magnolia I was like you know because a lot of times people like you know I’m hearing de fox wants out of there well well and then they’re you know they’re in Atlanta somewhere saying this and DLo and casy are like what this guy talking Scott so these guys talking about couldn’t be further from the truth I don’t want to be that guy so that’s why it’s happening with the streets of New Orleans and I heard some stuff last night from a couple podcasts and even the lock on uh New Orleans guy Pelicans guy they’re actually actually down with the trade like the reported Barnes herder draft capital for Brandon Ingram okay they’ve kind of gotten to the point where like we’re kind of we’re not getting what you would think for Brandon Ingram in this situation like another star or something like that um but like we want their thought process is getting draft capital in assets will prepare them for the next move which is supposed to be the big move that’s their that’s their thought process like okay we don’t really we’re not crazy about Harrison not crazy about herder but their contracts are such and if we can get draft Capital that’ll be what we can use to go get I’m just throwing out name go get cat or something like that and like all right fine fine go ahead yeah do it yeah do it they had one guy on there they said uh if if you’re calling you you gotta ask about Keegan right and then you go oh yeah yeah you gotta ask about Keegan you gotta do that now now look you gotta ask because because you know the Kings you know get some get some liquor get some liquor in front of them boys they might make they don’t make good trades they don’t make good trades so you got to ask them you got to ask them and do he’s like he’s like you know uh we got we got Alvin over there Alvin might might have him make a deal you gotta ask him about it it’s like all right settled it that’s enough okay well well done that’s good um always love that impression let’s get Manny in here uh Manny’s tapped into uh different streets what’s up Manny I mean I had a hold the Rosen thing going and then you just crushed it so I mean there’s that well I didn’t crush it I was I was just telling you what we heard my sources could have at least called me before your sources called you and then that would have alleviated the phone call but okay but I still think like I still think like it’s I still think they should pursue him though like I don’t know what his deal is as far as what he’s looking for I would assume some of it is maybe wanting to go back home be closer to La maybe um but I do think he fits perfectly in Sacramento there’s a lot of things that he brings to the table even at his age he’s got a he’s clutch he he plays really good health defense he he rarely makes many mistakes like he’s very poised out out there he’s got a good eye he like every part of the game that he he’s good at a little bit of everything and especially on a team where I think where we see Keegan where we’re waiting to see what he does next he’s not the kind of guy that you would bring in that’s gonna like overtake him you know what I’m saying like where he’s not going to intimidate like Keegan will still be able to do what he does even if it’s at a higher level and D rozan will find a way to mesh with that so he’s still gonna bring you what he brings you and not stunt anything that keeg would need to be so I know like you say he’s it’s probably a dark horse thing but I I would love to see him on the Kings right on Minnie he’ll be with the heat by the end of the day the one the the the thing I would say about the fit is I’m I’m worried about spreading the floor that’s that’s what I really I don’t want this team to lose that I think that is where they play the best and where they’re most dangerous and I I I wonder if de Demar D rozan would would be able to be able to get that done I’m not exactly sure how this clip was recorded but I think we finally have it in the rain exactly what Mark Spears said will be back technically they in the post season this year yeah postseason and playoffs two different things let’s return that doesn’t why if that if that’s the case why why do teams do that to Sacramento like Sacramento seems to be the only franchise that that happens to I don’t know why but yeah I don’t think it’s faret I think that these teams like like that’s where it fell off because I don’t think Mon oh yeah I can’t give you an extra first round pick or whatever I don’t think Washington asked for Keegan Murray what might have happened they might have wanted the Third pick and the Kings might have liked Devin Carter and they might have been like hey let’s try to figure something else out you know well let’s let’s let’s figure out different draft C and maybe they just haven’t gotten there maybe they just haven’t figured it out I’m not really sure I have no idea but we all as kings fans know the noise around Kyle kosma on draft night was loud yeah it it was not make believe like there was something happening and again the deal was super close I don’t know what happened I don’t I don’t need I don’t know so so this is this is just this is like funny and I’m not I’m not trying to be a jerk or nothing like that but this is this is how rumors get started this is how uh uh just hysteria happens right on Matthews mattress chatty house I’m not gonna read all of it because it can’t but he says Zack Benn says is the Rosen stuff legit Mark Spears apparently said the kings are closest assigning him on ESPN that’s not what he said like everyone is leaving it’s funny everyone is leaving out uh a particular word that uh he used oh no no thanks for the update we’re not doing shocked absolutely flabbergasted if the Kings left this summer without making some time of type of move free agency or trade I think a trade is going to happen more than free agency but well free agency I don’t even know what’s left at this point I mean Ian I think Buddy’s coming back like I don’t know what we’re know talking even though like we said you know was said and everything else like that that salary might be needed for right trade that you’re well that and that’s that’s what we talked about yesterday the the free agency I think is like the I want to say last resort but that’s if no deals can get done all right let’s see what’s in in free agency and and try to add that way or something like that but I think there’s if they have the white board in in Mon’s office there’s probably about three four five potential trades that they’re weighing out just just my opinion I don’t I haven’t talked to anybody but just my opinion there’s like three or four or five different trades that they’re weighing out the possibilities of if they can get them done or not the trade that that is where their focus is weighing paths is that what you’re saying weighing paths the trade is what they’re focus on though the trade is where they look like they feel they can improve the roster before free agency well Dr David says just wait till December 15th well yeah that’s always a big the Kings let’s let’s let’s let’s go like worst case scenario I guess let’s say nothing happens to start the season can the Kings can the Kings manipulate their current roster to be more effective can shrey L start and Harrison Barnes come off the bench and the Kings be more effective can Malik start and Keon Ellis comes off the bench and the Kings be like can can you take what you have and go okay it didn’t work the way we wanted it to last year how can we take roughly the same group of individuals and make it a more effective unit is that realistic or is that just dumbass you really stopped believing in anything haven’t you I I think I think it is realistic I think it is I think because I do believe worst case scenario nobody new comes in outside of Devin Carter they resign Malik Monk and they you know they get to play in I still think that’s a playoff team I still think that’s a team that’s better than the play in what they had last year I I I felt that way I felt they should have made the playoffs last year um their margin for error is very very very thin in that particular case but consistent with that I think I think they can still make the playoffs if nothing else happen now what you would do in that situation is maybe um changing the the rotation and everything up and changing the starting lineup might be the answer Malik monk maybe your starting two guard in that case as opposed to Kevin hert or you know dwarte or or even Keon in that case um and maybe that’s how you change some stuff up Keon will be there it feels like for the whole season and yeah maybe Kevin plays a different role and he’s a more of a three or part of a three guard lineup Off the Bench or something like that can we talk about him for a second absolutely like is he’s I I know I know fans might be kind of fed up with herter kind of on and off and even in the the first year like he went through a streak that was pretty cold he went through a streak that was white hot too but he he did go through a cold streak that first year the second one was just it was was just bad it was just an awful year for Kevin herder I don’t think that’s who he is as a player last year I don’t think that’s Kevin hurder he’s I maybe he’s not quite what he was the first year but I don’t think it’s what he was last year either is it naive dumb to think that’s that’s just a it’s just a rough stretch for Kevin herder he’s been doing yoga he’s been using the con map he’s got his mind right his body’s healthy he’s ready to go out there he’s going to be he’s going to be better than he was last year is that is that ridiculous to think I don’t I don’t think so I I really don’t think so I think that you know you look at Kevin herder and what what he did last year it was the worst year of his career so I’m I’m of the belief he’s not going to have another season that bad right like it may not be what it was two years ago but it’s going to be better than what it was last year and and we I think we all kind of feel like if he would have just been okay last year instead of just like a a a negative that might have been enough like everything went bad for yeah everything went bad man he got hurt even confidence all this other stuff to The Bitter End everything was going bad for Kevin herder last year yeah yeah so I I I do think that he can um that he can be better and the Kings can be better with him if he was on the roster maybe I’m being too optimistic or whatever but I I I just look at you know the thing we always talk about um and all the they have averages for a reason right well he was below his averages he he may be a little better next year to get above the average so the average you know balances out um but last year I don’t think was indicative of of the player he is I don’t believe the team itself last year I feel like we spent a lot of time talking about allseason like their identity going into the season do they have one do you think like are they still going to be searching for that yeah no they no no no so that’s that that’s a great question because I think that’s a low-key really important part to training camp they need to know what it is going in and they don’t need a a meeting they don’t they don’t need a talking to from damont sabonis or dearon fox or anybody this year they need to go in with the offense as their top priority again and what they’re able to do on the defensive end is a plus I actually think this might be again I might be full of stupid thoughts here uh at this point in in in free agency but I I I I think that I think that if their offense is where it’s supposed to be it might take a little bit off of it might take a little bit of the pressure off of the way that they feel about how they’re playing on the defensive end and it felt like at some point they got in their own head with stuff and I know what Mike wants but I also know he this might be the first step Jesse we’re I don’t think we’re reaching but Monty and Mike need to make sure they’re on the same page because there were times Monty would say stuff and Mike would say stuff and they didn’t contradict each other but it felt like they were saying battling words out loud right and defense defense defense from Mike Brown and M would be like yeah I want the defense to be better but not at the expense of the offense and that’s the number one thing that cannot happen to go back to the old Kenny carway phrase from two years ago they have a superpower you’ve got to utilize it and allow what you do on the offensive end to accentuate what you do on the defensive end because that’s what you do best don’t make it the other way around right and that needs to be established as Jess he’s pointing out that has to be established the second you step on the floor for the first day of training camp I agree 100% man I agree 100% And they they I think that’s what they need to get back to and I understand Mike I’ve always understood Mike Brown and um how he feels about defense and and preaching defense and you know even to be a good team you know in this league an elite team in this league you got to be able to defend I get all that but I I thought I thought that first year they got to that point in the playoffs I know it’s Steph Curry at 50 in the game seven I understand that but I always go back to those first two games of the Season even or of the series even in game four and I would even say definitely in game six they were physical on the defensive end they were out there uh dictating the pace and dictating the physicality to the point like I continue to mention the Warriors had to write a memo to the leagues it’s getting too physical and all this other stuff but Mike Brown trusted his coaching and what he had been preparing those guys for and let them get there it feels like the second season he said this is where we have to be first like he didn’t allow it to progress naturally and it just kind of threw everything off it it wasn’t and still not that he’s wrong in what he’s saying fundamentally basketball-wise I understand and a lot of it I agree with but you also got to look at your personnel and you’re trying to what they say fit a a square hole into a round Peg or something like that like you don’t have those type of individuals and yeah he’s probably saying go get me those type of individuals well it’s easier said than done and I don’t even know if that’s going to be the answer to your solution look at what you have look what you may have coming into the roster and see what you can do with that and use their strengths moving forward and then like kind of um like you did the first year get them to morph into something as the season goes along or take bits and pieces where they can survive on the defensive end while still having that superpower so to speak as the offensive end so yeah I I I think that I think establishing that from jump um is one of the most important things they can do headed into the off season and truth be told that applies now today with the way the roster is constructed at this second and if the roster changes in an hour or tomorrow or in a month the same thing needs to apply then yes uh if you go get you know a couple of defensive minded Wings if you go get you know someone who’s great at shot blocking whatever it it should not change the way you approach the season because your pillars Malik dearen Keegan domas are all very very good on the offensive end yes 100% M so I I I’m I’m with you uh Jesse has a great Point as far as you know establishing an identity from the jump and I think that identity should go back to being an uptempo offensive team and when it gets down to it they’ll defend but we we getting the point we getting the points up that’s what we doing when you when you play the Sacramento Kings you know get your track shoes on make sure you’re scoring because you know they getting a 110 115 120 and you got to be able to keep up and you got to hope that they’re not willing to play defense that day because if they’re willing to play defense that day man it might be an uphill battle that’s I think that’s that’s the mindset yeah okay next we’ll talk about why buddy hee makes sense for for this version of the Sacramento Kings buddy heal buddy heal if we changed his name to just shyano and didn’t call him buddy mhm would that
