That makes 14 on the heat roster. One of Highsmith or Martin isn’t re-signing. Sixers have a good shot at either.

The Knicks are no longer contenders. They just lost their GOAT.

EB traded for him at the deadline in 2020 and the following offseason Morey didn’t re-sign him. That C’s series was brutal for him.

I’m struggling to decide who I want more between Martin and Highsmith.

Feel like we desperately need Highsmith to come in and guard wings or athletic forwards.

But also Martin feels like a perfect blend of size, defense, play making and enough shooting pairing next to Maxey.

Based on the fact that I think we are getting Lowry back I’d lean Highsmith I guess even tho I feel Martin is the better player.

  5. Burks trying to rival Ish Smith in having a closet of team issued gear that resembles the NBA Store

Never forget Alec (and GR3) taking the covered wagon route to report to the Sixers upon being traded from GSW

For me, it’s Martin > Highsmith, though it’s close. Highsmith has improved offensively, but isn’t above replacement level on that end of the floor. He does, however, come with elite level defense, which, on a team with plenty of scoring, could be more valuable. That said, when you look at Martin’s playoff track record, you’ll see a much more valuable player (I encourage everyone to look at his stats against Boston in the 2023 ECF). It’s also worth to note that the Heat play great team defense, so Highsmith’s stats could be helped by Spoelstra’s defensive scheme.

I know this sounds crazy, but I think we get Ben at the deadline or better as a buyout.
