‘The Jazz are “conducting their business” with a 10% chance of trading Markannen

Pretty sure this Lauri hype will amount to nothing and the Warriors will have to pivot fast for a notable second option

  1. That means lavine… not opposed but he better come cheap

  2. ScaredPresent3758

10% seems arbitrary but whatever. If there was a Kuminga for Markannen deal on the table, I say take it because this addresses an immediate need at center.

I like Kuminga but the Warriors’ goal right now isn’t developing talent but maximizing Steph’s remaining years.

The only thing that comes after a dynasty is nothing so it’s important to maximize the championship window while it’s still open.

If we can’t land Lauri I feel we should go get kuzma he should be a lot cheaper to obtain. He has playoff and championship experience as well.

  4. CenCalPancho

We should he trying to steal ingram from the kings

  5. ColeUnderPresh

I’m sure MDJ knows Ainge is just doing his due diligence. Plan B is probably Ingram. Plan C is roll with Kuminga taking a step forward and seeing where it goes.

You cannot win with Danny Ainge I’m telling you it’s literally impossible. If this were any other GM you could but him no

  7. 222thedome

It’s fine we can take the team we have into the season and look for a deal at the deadline

  8. hoodtalk247

Ainge probably bored af this time of year can’t blame him for entertaining himself

  9. bfolksdiddy

This is just bluster to get his value up.

I think they’ll trade him. It makes quite a bit more sense going with a full rebuild in Utah. Danny Ainge called him a “big game hunter” at times which leaves some room for doubt. Also doubt Lauri wants to spend most the rest of his prime near the bottom of the league which could effect his earning potential. If Utah hit Free agency hard and signed a dude like Demar than perhaps people might think they were serious but why wouldn’t they start stock piling picks. Every rebuilding team has been taking tabs on how it’s paid off for teams like Orlando and OKC.

Lol I hope y’all aren’t holding your breath for the Woj headline that we got Lauri. It’s not gonna happen. Ainge isn’t stupid.

  11. InevitableBudget510

This is negotiating 101. Ainge is trying to drive the price up

  12. This_Cable_5849

The jazz would be idiots to not trade Lauri. If he isn’t traded in the next 3 months, you bet your ass he will be traded by the deadline.

He isn’t going to resign with them. Plain and simple. So they may as well get something for him.

  13. Klonomania

I calculated a 90.302311% chance that chance is made up.

  14. HamsterCapable4118

The Kings already have this locked up.

  15. draymond-

We desperately need shooting and a shot creator.

    Lavine is who we need.

  16. NBAgospel

Wiggins, Moody, and a pick for Jerami Grant. More picks if you want Ingram instead.

  17. Embarrassed-Buy1963

Y’all gonna be mad but you gotta throw kuminga in this trade to make it a real conversation

  18. LogComprehensive8585

At least MDJ is playing it loud enough to make Ainge look like a Pearl clucher. What, we’re all supposed to be in awe of the “genius” of a rich white guy that says no until he gets what he wants?
Ainge can take his 1 ring as an exec and suck it.

  19. I figured this would drag on. In August we’ll know Ainge’s true intentions when Markkanen becomes extension eligible for them.

  20. Suomiballer

I don’t believe what Jake is saying is true. First he says the kings deal was “close to being done,” then he says there’s a 10% chance of them trading him?! How are those two things true? If there was a 10% chance of them trading him there wouldn’t have been a deal that close lol. Sounds like leaks from the jazz side to increase the price. REMEMBER: ANY INFORMATION COMING OUT RIGHT NOW IS FOR A REASON

  21. johnjohnjohn93

Hoping they trade him but I still have this feeling they’ll extend him to give Lauri the extra money he’d get, throw in a trade kicker and then sell him at the deadline. I remember when there were rumors Lauri may even want to keep playing in Utah which was seen as a huge deal because nobody wants to play there long term. So an extension and wait for an overpay like Gobert/Bridges seems like the most likely outcome for me especially if Lauri isn’t dying to get out of there.

After Lauri it’s Ingram and guys like Kuzma, DFS and Cam Johnson who are all valuable but not to the same degree. Also long-term big $ deals like Lavine and Grant. Maybe another stud becomes available but there will still be almost certainly still be more suitors than young stars available.

  22. I mean I remember there was a July 3rd not too long ago where KD had a 90% chance of returning to the Thunder.

    And then July 4th happened.

So I still have hope the trade happens

#Danny Ainge revels in the suffering of others… it is the as important to him as the air he breathes

  24. StinkmeanerIV

There’s been too much noise/hype around this for us lol, this will be another Paul George 😂
