“Moody would be the #1 player in the league I’d be trying to trade for right now” – Pelton

Not because he’s the best player available in the league (duh) but because there might not be anyone else in the league as undervalued with as high an upside.

Once Klay left, I was really excited to see Moody finally get an opportunity this season. With the signings of Melton/Hield/Anderson it seems like they have a planned trade sending Moody out. It’s a bittersweet feeling because a lot of us really love and believe in Moses, but we are just happy he will hopefully find a team that gives him a chance. Whoever gets him (Utah🙏🏼) is getting a gem.

I’ll root for Moody wherever he lands. Had more than enough justifiable reason to complain about his lack of playing time or the way he’s been yoyo’d in and out of the rotation but he’s been a professional about it through and through. Always gonna be a fan

Can we actually play him season for fucks sake

I don’t buy this mystical upside with Moody. I buy that he’s going to be a great rotation player someday, but I see his ceiling as like a 5th starter, not a third guy. He’s a great rebounder, good defender, doesn’t make a lot of mistakes, I believe one day he will be a very good shooter, maybe a bit of movement shooting even in the vein of a Divicenzo, right now he’s been pretty good shooting the ball and the environment hasn’t been ideal however his release to this point is slow and he hasn’t been that accurate (again I understand his opportunities are inconsistent). He doesn’t have real creation or playmaking upside to me though, but I would expect his play finishing to improve overtime, even his slashing which right now is not good.

  5. I’m just glad we got Poole, moody, wiseman, and kuminga a chip.

    Two timelines was successful.

What do they see in practice that makes them not believe in him? Usually he performed when put in.

  7. This is a game of assets, Kuminga is fairly valued, if not overrated with his extension. Moody has yet to showcase what level player he is because he was stuck deep in the rotation on a contender. Just like Lauri has become a far more valuable asset that could net the Jazz multiple first round picks, Moody could have a similar glow up, likely not to the same extent, but enough to create value.

It really depends on how much they believe in Kuminga. If the Jazz think Kuminga will be the next Kawhi, then he is worth it, but that is a bigger risk than Moody becoming a starting level role player. Do they really want their cornerstone player from trade bait? Or would they rather roll the dice and try to land a generational player in the draft that they can reliably build around. They keep pushing their assets to increase value until they hit gold. They luck into Cooper Flagg and they have to prioritize him over Kuminga. That that could lead to chemistry issues.

Podz is another cheap player that is overperforming his contract, that is the more likely upgrade over Moody if they are not sold on his potential. He has a few years before he will get paid, which will endure the tanking years or hold value for a future trade.

I guarantee you it’s Kerr who wants him traded too, they’ve never been on the greatest of terms and that’s part of why Moody hasn’t played the kind of minutes he should have so far in his career

  9. bayareacollection

I mean yea he’s good and he gets dogged every year

  10. bucketjunky

If moody doesn’t start and get absurd minutes this season i hope he goes somewhere where a team knows how to use him. He’s exceptional and gives so much effort on both ends

I’d like to see Moody get 30-35 minutes a game and see wassup with him up till at least trade deadline.

It’s nearly impossible for his trade value to go lower and at the same time, I think he could be a 15+ ppg with ~3 assists, 4-5 rebounds sorta guy if we gave him the minutes.

Moody’s one of those scrappy + hungry players who plays with a drive you wish your stars had.

  12. Kerr is stubborn enough that he won’t change his preference to certain types of player (like Podz). On the other hand, he just can’t stand the weaknesses of Moody and he won’t change, since we have extended Kerr, I think it’s time to part ways with the player he doesn’t like.

  13. Frankly if Moody was that good he would had showed more by now. JK and Podz have had more impact on the team than him. He has never been able to force his way into the rotation. I rather let him go somewhere else to grow and have an NBA career. He already has a ring so he doesn’t have much pressure anymore. We need players who can have a bigger impact than him.

Good. Sell high on Moody right now. If the Jazz feel this way we can keep Kuminga in a Lauri trade.

  15. RustyShackleford925

If Moody gets starter minutes he’s averaging 18PPG easy

  16. Call me crazy but there is another universe where Moses Moody is Mikal Bridges

  17. Kerr is a jackass. Praises him in public and then sits him for weeks.

My spurs have wanted him for 2 years now, I wonder if we get evolved for him in any potential 3 team deals.
