4 Free Agents The Pistons Should Consider | Karsch and Anderson
and Amari Sano for the Free Press who covers the Pistons uh in today’s U column has uh he focuses on on some free agents that are still available he says four players who fill needs and I want Kang to get your opinion on these players and the people as well at 248 539 9797 the first name is Malik Beasley shooting guard from Milwaukee Bucks 28 years old averaged 11.3 points last season uh sh 41.3% from three and averaged uh just under 30 minutes a game how do you feel about Malik Beasley 6’4 I like mil Beasley for for this team I like they said he’s a shooter that’s what you bring him in to do um you just need to Pro provide Kade and this team with some consistent shooting from the outside you can never have enough shooting uh does that mean Tim Hardway Jr doesn’t play as much as we think sure I mean whoever the best shooter is play that guy right I just want a better rotation a more consistent rotation is and I think Beasley would provide that is this a player that you would give a long-term deal to no one one and done uh one twoyear deal but I think right now we’re in those the obviously we’re in the very early stages of TR traan langan’s uh you know uh career here hopefully a long career in the front office but yeah this is just part of developing the rest of the roster and I think Beasley he’s he’s a known shooter in the league and uh that’s what he’s been brought around to do I me I think that’s what he you know the Pistons need of course sticking with shooting guards the other shooting guard he mentions is Gary Trent Jr from Toronto 6 foot5 average just under 14 points uh a game last year shot 39.3 from three-point land and played 28 minutes a game maybe defense is uh he’s not the the best defender but as sofa says he’s long been among the NBA’s top players at producing steals I like Trent Jr more than Beasley so I mean I don’t want both of them so if you made me choose between the two I’d go after jary Trent Jr I mean the guy has the ability to score in this league it dipped this past year because his his minutes and playing time went down but I believe he scored a 50o game during his career he he can shoot the three-point shot uh he’s he can be aggressive as a guard uh I like Sasser but he’s young obviously I think you bring in Gary Kint Jr that’s another veteran guy that can you know shoot the ball I like him more than Beasley uh this third player he’s a guard but he’s a point guard not shooting guard 6′ one tus Jones from the Washington Wizards he’s 28 years old averaged 12 points a game last year 7.3 assists uh overall shot 48.9% from the field 41.4 from three-point land do the Pistons really need a point guard well that’s the thing I mean tus Jones has definitely developed into a nice role player in this league for whatever team he ends up on I don’t know if the Pistons need a third point guard like that who’s just I mean because I’m counting on Sasser to develop still and Kate Cunningham although you he’s your point forward essentially and then you also have Jaden Ivy as well right so I think you start Kate at the at essentially the point guard position tus Jones would be second or third but I don’t want to stunt sasser’s growth so that’s why I would probably prefer to stay away from tyus Jones but he’s a he’s a decent player and lastly he a forward tooran Prince from the Lakers 6’6 he’s 30 years old a a nine points a game last year uh and shot 39.6% from three-point range 27 minutes a game but he’s 30 I’m not big on Prince I think you have a a sord Thompson that you were trying to develop into you know that three and D type guy he obviously has the the length and athleticism to and then the effort to play defense he wants to you saw that for the most part you saw the effort from him night in and night out now he’s got to start developing some offensive game and that range that you know Prince obviously can shoot the three better than him but this is almost I’m not trying to be like the Tigers here but I don’t want to block the young guys but I want to add veterans to help the young guys you know yeah and you’ve got a coach who’s good at working with younger players and and see what they can do there so out of these players you like uh Trent Gary Trent Jr the best MH well we’ll see what the Pistons decide to do and because then it gets the whole thing do you sign free agents or do you use that cap space you have to to take on bigger contracts so you can get draft picks in return or are you going to sign these free agents with the thought that maybe you can flip them at the trade deadline and do the same thing no I got like Prince you might sign just to be there and to mentor assur and things and if you know an injury happens whatever you can fill them in but he’s not a high priority free agent for me and and these guys aren’t going to cost a ton like I said the guys left over right now they’re you know they either play their cards wrong or they’re just you know they’re trying to get on a team so they can play for their next cont contract and but uh I mean to be honest with you the Pistons wresters so bad most guys would help right yeah any most guys would help this team even if they’re on the downsides of their career yeah that’s uh that’s how bad this team has been but hopefully they’re digging out of it here they’ve hit rock bottom I don’t know if they’ve hit rock bottom or not they have I mean when you lose 28 in a row and you win 14 games in a season strikes me as that’s hitting rock bottom Unfortunately they didn’t get a whole lot of luck when it comes to uh the the the lottery the draft lottery the last couple of years they haven’t had that luck which they really desperately needed uh last year and they didn’t help they didn’t get any luck this year either um because I don’t think anybody’s really expecting tons uh from the draft picks this year to to really show up that they’re more draft and stash and develop kind of guys but we’ll see None of those guys make sense unless pistons are giving up on one of the young guys or trading some.
Hardaway feels very joe harris to me like he coming here for his career to die
Danny Green will be good addition to this young team. DG is a proven winner, will add veteran voice in that locker room and we all know his lights out from anywhere!
I think Duncan Robinson is the perfect wing for the Pistons get it done 👍
Start Cade at shooting guard and put IVEY at the point watch them take off just try it….
If Ron Holland is ready Day 1 start him next to Cade with duren Tobias and tech
