Klay Thompson Has Already Been Replaced

one player that a number of teams have tried to Target Lori marinin of the Utah Jazz I don’t know man I just think the Warriors front office is in a really precarious position but they they have to hit some kind of home run quick like you don’t want to play with fire with him to say that the Golden State Warriors are currently undergoing a major transition would be a gigantic understatement losing one of their franchise cornerstones and Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks of all teams the Mavericks even offered him less than what the warriors were going to offer but apparently Klay Thompson didn’t want to come off the bench that’s the reason why he ended up Jumping Ship but now it seems like the Golden State Warriors officially have a plan to move on from Klay Thompson so we’re going to break down everything for you guys in this video before we get to the content we are less than 45,000 subscribers away from hitting 1 million subscribers I mean ever since I’ve been telling you guys that we’re trying to make this push to 1 million you’ve been so supportive so if you happen to enjoy the content make sure you subscribe and turn on our notific ific to help us get there and now that we get all that out of the way do the [Music] [Music] intro Mike chuck1 212 what’s going on everybody it’s been very emotional ever since Klay Thompson decided to leave I mean Steph Curry posted this onto his Instagram Story the day after Klay Thompson announced his departure going to miss you Klay Thompson even though we won’t finish the journey together what we did will never be done again couldn’t have imagined a better run with you and Draymond Green changed the whole Bay Area change the way the game is played kill a clay at the center of it all thank you for everything bro go enjoy playing basketball and doing what you do Splash Bros for life my guy meanwhile the Golden State Warriors decided to put out this statement on Draymond Green saying words cannot express the anger we have towards this man Draymond Green single-handedly ruined our 9-year Dynasty we could have had 7 to8 banners if this grown man didn’t behave like an unsupervised 2-year-old he’s lucky we aren’t trading him because if we could we would we’re paying this man life-changing money and he still throws tantrums on the court like come on man grow up okay this is not a real statement it’s from NBA sentel but Jokes Aside Draymond Green finally had the opportunity to react to this entire situation and what he have to say would even infuriate Golden State Warriors fans even more first he mentioned how he almost left the Warriors a year ago to join the Memphis Grizzlies he called me on the phone she’s like stop and she’s like I’m about to cry and she said it reminded her of last year so last year during free agency I called clay and I C the separate calls and Steve and I was just telling them like yo I’m leaving I’m going to Memphis then shortly after he commented on the controversial Paul George no trade you see originally the theory was that the Golden State Warriors were pursuing Paul George you can make an argument that Paul George would have been an upgrade over Klay Thompson it was a brilliant pivot at this point but the Los Angeles Clippers decided that they didn’t want to trade Paul George to the Golden State Warriors and originally we thought this was 100% out of pettiness and here’s what Draymond Green had to say on his podcast about it I mean there were other free agency moves and Paul georgees the biggest of the summer is planning to sign a 4-year deal with the 76ers also a little salty about that because Paul George was going to come to the Warriors and we wanted Paul George to come to the Warriors for us to give Paul Georgia would have taken a sign trade and the Clippers didn’t really want to play ball um didn’t really want to help him get to where he wanted to go and so in turn they get nothing back and you know whereas you could have gotten something back for Paul George walking they get absolutely nothing back so that didn’t quite pan out for us which would have been nice now originally we thought that the real reason was because the Los Angeles Clippers just didn’t want to help the Golden State Warriors I mean Clipper fans hate the Warriors and the Warriors hate the clippers but to the point where you’re willing to let one of your stars walk away for free it just doesn’t make any sense the original theory was Jonathan kaminga Moses Moody and multiple unprotected first round picks were being offered for Paul George but then we heard this she’s reporting today on ESPN that the Warriors did not offer Jonathan kaminga in any of the um scenarios in which they tried to get Paul George the Warriors and the Clippers were trying to make a move but the Warriors did not want to offer Jonathan kaminga what’s your thoughts on that brutal I I mean I think it’s an absolute whiff by The Warriors and yeah Ramona wrote The Warriors offered multiple combinations of expiring contracts young players an unprotected 2027 first round pick according to her sources the Clippers countered by asking for Jonathan kaminga and the Warriors resisted Ramona rights because kaminga is so important to their own future they were also worried George wouldn’t be as interested in joining them if they gave up too much to get them you can’t be all in and then act like you’re unwilling to to give up really the most valuable chip that you have and it wasn’t only John Dickinson that would say this but also Ramona shelburn echoed this saying that the warriors were unwilling to trade Jonathan kaminga for Paul George the Warriors offered multiple combinations of expiring contracts Young players and an unprotected 2027 first round pick the Clippers countered by asking for prized youngster Jonathan kaminga the Warriors resisted because kaminga is so important to their own future but also because they worry George wouldn’t be as interested in joining them if they gave up to much to get him it’s just so interesting because Jonathan kaminga has already had a lot of controversy with the Warriors this past year he famously said that he didn’t feel like he would be able to fulfill his potential with the Golden State Warriors because of lack of playing time and although you could easily draw parallels to when the Los Angeles Lakers wanted to hold on to Talon Horton Tucker and didn’t trade him for Kyle Lowry I don’t think this is the same thing I mean if you take a look at Jonathan kaminga splits since his rookie year till now he’s on a Giannis andeta kmo like trajectory and no I’m not saying he’s going to be the next coming of Yannis andak kmo but when Yannis andak kmo was drafted in the NBA he was relatively raw his first season he averaged 6.8 points per game and then in his second season he averaged 12 seven points per game then in his third he averaged 16.9 points per game before finally turning into a budding star from 2016 to 2017 averaging over 20 points per game before winning an MVP 2 years later and Jonathan kaminga seems to be on the right track averaging nine points per game during his first two seasons in the NBA before making an explosion to 16 points per game over this past year so maybe the Golden State Warriors think that Jonathan kaminga is going to develop into a superstar and I don’t think it’s that crazy to suggest that but this is going to be one of those trades that we are going to be revisiting in the future so if you’re a Golden State Warriors fan you should let me know in the comment section down below do you think they made a horrific Mistake by not trading Jonathan kaminga in order to get Paul George because you can make an argument for and against it you could say that it’s way too trigger happy trading the 21-year-old Jonathan kaminga for the 34-year-old Paul George when Paul George is also going to take up $48 million in salary and then is going to expect a Max contract extension from the Golden State Warriors that could possibly take him until his age 38 or 39 season so I could understand why the Warriors didn’t do that at the same time Paul George would have been an upgrade over Klay Thompson the trade would have been good enough to at least have the Warriors somewhat competitive but they wouldn’t be the top team in the Western Conference for sure so I don’t know let me know in the comment section if this was a good no trade but this still leaves a huge gaping hole at the two position next to Steph Curry I mean Klay Thompson reportedly told stephh Curry not to demand that the front office pays him I was told that Klay requested of Steph don’t exert your influence don’t demand that they do right by me financially I want them to and I want them to do that on their own so melodramatic don’t you think I mean look you guys already know how I feel about the Klay Thompson situation I feel like the Warriors did right by Klay Thompson by giving him a Max contract extension despite him tearing his ACL and then on top of that he tore his Achilles tendon 3 days before the 2020 the NBA draft the Warriors could have selected lamelo ball then but they opted to select James wisman instead it’s just there are so many times where the Warriors showed Klay Thompson that they’re loyal to him and I absolutely love Jason Dumis he follows us on Twitter I kind of believe Jason dumas’s report when he says that Klay Thompson’s Antics behind the scenes have been as equally exhausting as Draymond Green’s saying clay has been equally as exhausting behind the scenes it’s just not as loud it’s not as loud because it’s not you stomping on someone’s chest if he’s slamming stuff on the bench and sulking and doing that on the court how do you think it is in practice how do you think it is in the locker room it has been uncomfortable it has it just doesn’t come out as loudly as Draymond Green and I could see that because clay really doesn’t seem to be that thankful for the sacrifices the Warriors made in order to show him that they’re devoted to him and dedicated to him look man Brandon Pensky was better in the starting five it’s not their fault that you were better coming off the bench Klay Thompson’s points per game averages improved when he came off the bench but I know what you guys might be thinking at this point Mike you’ve been talking way too much about the behind the scenes aspect of the Golden State Warriors losing clay and I understand I like to bring you guys as much info about what’s going on behind the scenes as humanly possible so you might be thinking Mike how are the Warriors going to fill the gaping hole next to Steph Curry who’s going to be the new Splash brother and believe it or not I think the Warriors are doing the right things here yes it sucks to let go of Chris Paul and get nothing yes it’s sucks to lose Klay Thompson yes it sucks to miss out on Paul George but it seems like the Warriors are being very calculated you only have so many assets to build around Steph Curry and you can’t just be Reckless with the remaining assets that you have otherwise you turn into the Phoenix Suns or the LA Clippers so the very first thing we heard is that the Warriors are interested in trading for Lori marinin one player that a number of teams have tried to Target Lori Markin of the Utah Jazz and a lot of the teams who lost out of Mel Bridges from Brooklyn have transfer it over to trying to see if they can uh land Lori marinin out of Utah golden state is one of those teams I’ve already said previously that Lori Markin would be an incredible get for the Golden State Warriors I mean the man averaged 23 points per game and shot 40% from three he has an offensive box plus minus of a 5.1 and a value over replacement player of a 2.6 I mean the guy is a stud he hasn’t even entered his age 27 season which is what many people assume a player’s Prime is but that’s not the only individual that the Golden State Warriors were looking into as a matter of fact they may have found the perfect person to be the new Splash brother a man that shot 39% from three this past year and has shot 40% from Beyond The Arc for his entire career according to Shams channa coming to us at midnight eastern time the Warriors are in serious talks on a sign and trade deal to acquire buddy field the Warriors in the 76ers have been in deep discussions working to finalize the deal for one of the NBA’s best three-point Shooters buddy heeld is the perfect replacement for Klay Thompson statistically he shot 40% from Beyond The Arc for the entirety of his career but he hasn’t been as prolific as Klay Thompson has been at the same time buddy heeld hasn’t had the luxury of playing with the greatest three-point shooter in NBA history for the entirety of his career so I really like what the Warriors are doing here they’re just trying to find find another three-point shooter that can convert at the same rate that Klay Thompson could convert but they’re hoping to do it at a fraction of the price and of course buddy heeld is a little younger than Klay Thompson so according to wge free agent buddy heeld is joining Golden State on a sign and trade deal guaranteed for2 years and $21 million he’ll gets $18 million in his first two years and a $3 million partial guarantee in his third year and a player option on a non-g guaranteed fourth year the Warriors send the Sixers a 2031 second round pick via Dallas the signning trade has to be 3 years but small guarantee on third year gives Golden State real flexibility on the deal for Buddy hee so so far the Warriors added DeAnthony Melton Kyle Anderson and Buddy heeld in the wake of Klay Thompson’s departure I think the contract for buddy heeld is what makes this so significant Klay Thompson got about $16.5 million per year from the Dallas Mavericks and he wanted a a little bit more than $20 million per year from the Golden State Warriors in order to stay on Golden State the Warriors are essentially replacing that with another three-point shooter that can convert at just as high of a clip but obviously throughout his career buddy heeld hasn’t averaged as many points per game as Klay Thompson did Buddy heal throughout his career averaged about 15 points per game whereas Klay averaged about 19.6 points per game I think this was a remarkable replacement for Klay Thompson and it’s going to be a very interesting experiment as well I mean is Buddy heeld going to be able to fully fill the void that Klay Thompson Left Behind is Buddy heeld an upgrade over Clay Thompson or is he a downgrade over Klay Thompson how is Clay going to perform now that he’s no longer Steph Curry’s teammate well I think Klay is still going to have a lot of success on the Dallas Mavericks at the end of the day when you’re flanking Luca donish and Kyrie Irving you should have a lot of wide openen attempts for three and the same could be said for buddy heeld I wonder if we’re going to see a career high from buddy heeld this season now the Warriors are ALS big game hunting with Lori marinin and if they’re able to swing a trade for Lori marinin which the Jazz are currently deliberating between the Sacramento Kings the San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors offers for Lori Markin and whether or not they even want to trade Lori to begin with but if the Warriors are able to swing a trade for him as well then I’d say that they even improve throughout the off season I give a Warriors a B+ for the sign in trade I mean it’s not an absolute home run but it’s an intelligent replacement for Klay Thompson and at least they didn’t stand Pat if you’re a Warriors fan let me know in the comments section down below what do you guys think about this move and what do you guys think about your off season so far aside from that I’m your boy Mike and I’m dropping our mic until our next upload

The Golden State Warriors agreed to a sign and trade with the Philadelphia 76ers for Buddy Hield in hopes to replace Klay Thompson

  1. That was HORRIFIC not giving up Kuminga for PG13. Steph needs a #2 next to him in a BAD way. Now if we don’t get Markannan we can all forget about a deep playoff run

  2. Trading Kuminga would set back the franchise a decade. We won’t be able to compete for another chip with Steph without JK, unless we trade him for Giannis type player

  3. I hate it when people say that klay mainly left due to money or because he was gonna be benched next season. He's a franchise legend who's remained with the same team for 13 years and won 4 rings with. I don't think he left cause he was offered less money or even a lesser role. Just think about it – last season he accepted and even flourished on the bench. And now he accepted even less money to play with dallas. If you watched draymond's podcast or read steph's post, you'll realize that the reason they didn't hold klay back from leaving, is because he just wasn't happy playing with the warriors. Draymond mentioned how much joy klay has for the game, but last season that wasn't the case. Last season was really rough for him. And to fans who actually watched the games, its clear that he was unhappy. Real fans will understand his reasoning and support his decision.

  4. Pau George is constantly injured, old, and too expensive. Kuminga is young and only getting better

  5. The Klay disrespect from actual Warrior fans is crazy. Don't forget who stepped up big to keep GS alive in all those pivotal playoff moments. It was Klay not Steph.

AND he went to a team in your conference that just made the finals. Buddy at his best can't replace Klay at his worst. Sorry not sorry.

Oh and it's officially over. âœŒđŸœ

  6. Paul George is a star right now, but we would have to mortgage our entire future for him. I get we have steph still, but also don't want the warriors to be trash after he retires. I think in the NBA you need backup plans like young talent and picks to reset your team for future success.

  7. You guys are crazy, Kuminga is out of table we dont care…
We will take our chances with Kuminga even if it means no Championships short term

  8. Kuminga's the prime replacement for Draymond once he's done.

Remember when Dray ignored KD and lost the ball on his way to the basket in that one game cuz he was jealous of him?
Now imagine PG being there- he's gonna become Wavedoff P.

GS made the right choice imo.

  9. well for the paul george and jonathan kuminga situation its like would u rather have a growing apple tree (kumiga) or an apple tree which is very productive but is gonna die in like 4 5 years (george)
i would rather have a growing apple tree but thats an opinion

  10. Great no trade. Paul George is not getting any better and his skill set is well known. Kuminga is a budding talent that could go in multiple directions.

  11. NO there was no mistake from a GSW fans pespective in trying to get Paul George and giving up Kuminga, as great as George is he isn't doing everything on his own and hes injury prone. Kuminga is a potential star as you said and the type of lengthy star that GS kinda needs for a balanced team instead of just small shooters. The Clippers had plenty in that offer and the one thing that wasn't on the table was Kuminga, so they chose nothing it's still petty it's still stupid and the Clippers still take the L not the Warriors and not the 76ers. (which btw the 76ers offloaded Hield to the Warriors so again its literally just the Clippers getting rawdogged over here for nothing)

  12. i think keeping kuminga is the correct play and how crazy is it that the warriors now have the 2 best college 3pt shooters of all time in steph and buddy hield

  13. As a Warrior fan, Although I want more championships in the bay , and maybe Klay isn’t going to help us get over the edge to get another chip, I think we keep klay no matter what , and retire dray, Steph, and klay all on the same team , because that’s the dynasty , that’s the boys , and the deserve to stay together. And it’s sad to lose klay. We got amazing results with them over the years, and they should stay together. Klay will be missed. But yeah I understand, we still trying to win and that’s the point anyway to win , so can’t be too mad.

  14. I actually thinks it’s a pretty good fit both Buddy and Kyle Anderson pose a pretty significant threat from three reminiscent of previous warriors teams even though they are a bit worse it’ll open up the floor for Steph next season much more than the last. Even Kuminga could benefit and become the warriors second option and cross that 20 ppg mark

  15. Clown chose warriors over lakers for a “better chance at winning “ as if the lakers didn’t dispose of them in 2023 and make it further than them again in 2024😂😂😂😂warriors are trash 😂😂

  16. Kuminga might be the warriors version of the sga trade from the clipps if they move him. I would keep him.

  17. Jonathan Dominguez only the most valuable is chip that the Warriors have because of the media keeps saying that he’s actually not moody a better shooter
