Woj BREAKING: Warriors acquire Buddy Hield from 76ers on sign-and-trade deal for 2-yr/$21M | ESPN SC

the Splash Brothers when Klay Thompson decided on the MAV so they had a big need at shooter and they acquired buddy hee from the Sixers in assign and trade for a second round pick in 2031 the 31-year-old heeld agreed to a two-year deal that will guarantee him $21 million although he’s not a splash brother heeld has made 1600 threes over the last six seasons that second behind is new backcourt running mate in Steph Curry the Warriors ranked seventh in three-point percentage last season and made the second most threes of any team senior NBA Insider Adrien wowski joining us now how does this Warriors trade now uh when you bring in buddy heel kind of fill the void of Klay Thompson going to the Mavericks well you’re seeing the Warriors do it by committee and Buddy heeld was a free agent Philly just facilitated his signing they get a 2031 second round pick you know but for buddy heeld this is a very Team friendly contract essentially two years guaranteed at about $21 million and hee listen only Steph Curry has made more three-pointers in the NBA since hee came in the league 2016 2017 you add in Kyle Anderson who we reported uh that they are signing in a sign in trade with Minnesota and DeAnthony Melton another ex sixer who’s coming over in free agency you’ve seen them fill out their roster with some more veteran depth and obviously you know buddy heeld is a shooter who’s going to probably come off the bench for this Warriors team uh listen they’ve recovered pretty well from Klay Thompson and you know you’ll see the growth of you know their first year players of Brandon p psky in his second year usually you see a jump I think the Warriors are happy with what they’ve able to do in this postseason they’re really high on kaminga too and the growth of that young team around Steph Curry okay free agency you’re still working you’re working hard a notable name that’s still out there what’s the latest on Miles bridges in the market yeah I think Miles Bridges is probably the best available free agent uh unrestricted in the marketplace Charlotte wants to bring him back you know they’ve made him an offer their new GM Jeff Peterson their new coach Charles Lee they’ve spent time with him and they’re allowing him to go out in the marketplace there are not teams necessarily with cap space for him Charlotte would have to facilitate a sign and trade and if they could get value back for Bridges they’re willing to listen if there’s a deal he’d like to take somewhere else but Charlotte would like to bring him back at a number in a number of years that they’re comfortable with you saw the emergence last year of Brandon Miller they hope the m ball is healthier this season and that’s a very good um uh Cornerstone for a young team and they’re still hopeful they’ll get miles Bridges back um but I think this is going to be a negotiation this one may play out a little bit into the month Miller a fantastic rookie season Melo has to stay healthy on the floor this past season bridger’s averaged a career-high 21 points and seven rebounds for the Hornets W thank you thanks Kevin still to come on Sports Center how the bills are rebuilding their their offense to stay in the hunt for Super Bowl after the departure of Stefan digs Adam Sher explains a heck plus the biggest free agency fireworks that are lighting up the NBA’s off season and the Duds that could leave teams disappointed are you a big firework person I love Fireworks love I’m from the south Kev oh you’re all in that you cross the border and load up and go back in your state and out of the form let’s take a look at some fireworks from a busy NBA offseason the Thunder strengthening their roster adding big man Isaiah hartenstein from the Knicks and then trading for defensive stalard Alex Caruso OKC won the West last year just got harder to beat plenty of fireworks in the home of the Liberty Bell freedom in Philly the Sixers signing the top free agent in nine-time All-Star Paul George just hours later they gave Tyrese Maxi a Max extension after a breakout season Nick’s trying to catch the Celtics in the east as part of a massive deal they sent four unprotected first round picks of the Nets from Mel Bridges and then they signed OG an anobi to a big extension entering free agency the Celtics niick Sixers and Bucks were the top four favorites to win the East according to ESPN bet as of today well it’s the defending champs Who Remain the favorites while the Sixers I mean they take a pass in front of the Knicks with the signing of Paul George we are all holding our breath we’ll see you know for all those great fireworks though there are always Duds too right these would be your ground Spinners your Roman candles your snake oh I hate the snakes yeah they’re so whack all right you can’t talk Duds without mentioning the Clippers they let Paul George walk didn’t get anything in return keep James Harden on a 2-year $70 million deal he will by the way be 35 when the season starts and then you look at the Warriors Dynasty and it’s officially fizzled out Golden State lost longtime Splash Brother playay Thompson to the Mavs he was test running mate for 13 years they also waved Chris Paul we go back to LA where the Lakers offseason has also been a bit of a dud I mean they do have the feel-good story after drafting bronnie James that was just a sparkler LeBron did resign for two years but they didn’t get any bigname help to go after another title in his 22nd season six time Allstar Demar D rozan remains a free agent after being linked to multiple teams going into the off season including the Lakers D rozan led the NBA minutes per game last season and averaged 24 points per his 11th straight season scoring more than 20 per game he’ll be 35 years old entering next season after d rozan uh we talked about it earlier in the program to discuss we bring in our good friend Sportsline betting analyst Alex selnik better known as prop Stars who’s going to help us sort of look at how the basketball landscape is changing probably we’re going to start with the East because the East has always felt like the little brother to the rest to the West I should say always competing but never quite there but when you look at the moves that have been made so far where are you seeing the best value from the Eastern Conference yeah haly first and foremost I got to talk about the Philadelphia 76ers uh the acquisition of Paul George I really think that he is the optimal second or third option and really what this Philadelphia 76ers team has been missing instantaneously he’s going to create a tremendous amount of spacing and the Sixers biggest weakness really since embiid has been uh their franchise Cornerstone has been spacing so he’s going to just being on the court really open things up for MB for tyres Maxi so I absolutely love the addition he’s also very good in the clutch in high leverage situations scoring in the fourth quarter that’s something else that’s plagued uh this Joel embid Le 76ers team so I really think he’s going to just have a seamless transition as that second or third option he’s very good without the ball plays excellent defense as well a lot will hinge on the health of these guys they’ve had some durability concerns but I look at the other moves the 76ers have made and I absolutely love haly I love Eric Gordon as a guy who can give you 15 to 20 minutes also creat space as well because he’s still a very good three-point shooter and then the signing of Andre Drummond I think it’s one of the better more underrated moves of any team in the offseason thus far we know Joel embiid is almost a lock to miss 10 to 15 games even just from a load management perspective if he stays healthy uh and Andre drumin has proven to be a very good big man Off the Bench more than capable of making a a spot start here and there so I think the 76 years team has had just a terrific off season if they stay healthy I really believe they have a legitimate chance uh to win the Eastern Conference and even compete for an NBA title I also want to mention the Orlando Magic very quickly as well uh their offseason have been a bit more under the radar they added kcp cavius cobwell pope from the Denver Nuggets a very good perimeter Defender but I just look at this Orlando team they had a tremendous season last year they finished 47 and 35 this roster is just full of young Talent reminds me a lot of the Oklahoma City Thunder but the Eastern Conference version I look at a guy like Paulo banero uh the Rookie of the Year from two years ago had a tremendous sophomore season I can see him making a big leap bronze Wagner as well uh Jaylen Suggs they have just such a young talented core I could see this magic team potentially winning 50 games uh and really causing a headache for whoever they end up playing much like Oklahoma City Thunder uh did this year almost winning the Western Conference so that’s another team if we’re looking for a long shot in the East I’ve got my eye on as well Haley the magic were so much fun to watch it was hard to decide between them and the Cavs in that uh series there in the postseason it was a lot of fun three of the last five or excuse me three of the top five shortest odds I should say are coming from the East so they’re kind of on the climb but if we look at history propy five of the last eight Champions have come from the Western Conference which is kind of what I alluded to at the beginning the West is kind of still the top dog we’ve seen some moves as well so where are you seeing value on that side of the association yeah so the West is absolutely stacked but I like two teams in particular uh that have some real long shot value I’m going to start with New Orleans Pelicans you can find them at plus 2200 to win the West I love what the Pelicans have done in the off seon this trade they did with the Atlanta Hawks where they added to Jon Murray they absolutely Le Atlanta this was a tremendous move a real upgrade to this Pelicans back Court dejonte Murray has really proven to be a very good two-way player capable of running an offense I also love that he’s going to allow CJ McCollum to play at his natural position at shooting guard I really think Zion Williamson proved that he’s a viable MVP caliber player had a tremendous year last year I also love just the young players as well if you look at guys like Herbert Jones Trey Murphy this team is loaded with a ton of talent uh they’re very versatile roster as well I even think Jonas Valen chunis leaving the team is almost an addition by subtraction uh they were much better team with him off the floor so I was glad they didn’t resign him so I think this Pelicans team has a real chance to be a team that wins 50 games out west and it wouldn’t surprise me at all they made a deep playoff run and then another team I want to mention is the Memphis Grizzlies you can find them at around plus 15 to1 odds or 15 to1 odds to win the Western Conference it was only two years ago that this Grizzlies team uh finished 51 and 31 that was the second best record in the Western Conference no team was more injured last year than Memphis John Morant Desmond Bane uh all the pretty much their entire starting roster Marcus Smart all these guys were hurt Jared Jackson junor played the majority of the Season that was it as far as their starters were concerned uh they will be healthy they have a very talented roster obviously led by John Moran who is an MVP caliber player what we saw last year though this Grizzly’s teams continued to compete throughout even despite all the numerous injuries you got guys like GG Jackson uh you got Vince Williams who look like they’ve proven to be rotational players uh Marcus Smart I think will be a very good veteran presence they go out and they draft Zach Edy as well so I look at this Memphis team if they’re able to stay healthy I think they have a great roster construction I certainly think they can also compete in a stacked and loaded Western Conference so I love the value that they provide at 15 to1 odds we’re going to stick in the Western Conference for your best bet here because the Sacramento Kings have been a theme this week about who they’re going to bring in to help dear speee foree foreign fore spee come you for for yeah foree spee oh my go fore around for for spe speech speech speech fore speee for foreign speech speech [Music] spe

  1. pretty sure Pods will start over him tho. and i'm sure after the year Kuminga had he's starting as well. they prolly wanna trade Wiggins but can't cuz of the contract.

  2. That's a bullshit narrative. 3/5 of the championships have been won by the East. Boston, Milwaukee, Toronto

  3. Sixers both have injury prone star players. 2nd round exit is their ceiling. Still hasn't changed.

  4. This is all fine and everything but the Warriors still needs a big man who can rebound the ball, and protect the paint

  5. So i can see three team bron getting ball and robinson mia getting dmar and bulls get jovic and both a pick from mia and pick from bron
