oh my goodness San Antonio Spurs fans so much has happened in the last 24 hours not one but two Spurs trades and well there was a summer league game last [Music] night what is up San Antonio Spurs fans wel TSR Sports we have so much to cover so much has happened in the last 24 hours we’re just going to go in chronological order starting off with this the San Antonio Spurs have traded guard Devonte Graham and a second round pick to the Charlotte Hornets we knew he was going to be on the rock after July 8th and he’s not the Hornets then immediately waved Graham who’s 29 to allow to become a free agent the second round pick in the deal is a 2025 New Orleans Pelicans picked at the spur Zone we have a million second round picks over the next five years so fine whatever sh also sent back our favorite on this channel cast considerations in the deal the Spurs will be approximately 26 million below the salary cap before the execution of the Chris Paul Contract Signing Time Out so CP3 signing for 11 million the Harrison Bens Trad that we’re going to talk about next he has owed 18 million so our cap space is now gone and from what I’m reading the Spurs may end up losing a combination of one or more of Julian champeny sanro melli or Charles Bassie to get under that cap bass certainly makes sense with his injury history I haven’t been the biggest fan of Julian champagne on this channel but he’s a young player on a friendly contract I don’t want to see him or Mom go so hopefully they’re here to say as far as V Graham’s concerned barely played 23 games played at the million s and trade deal the kings are trading forward Harrison Burns that’s like saying his name like that in an unprotected 2031 pick swap to the San Antonio Spurs angard Chris tote two second round draft picks and cash to the Chicago buvs my words are English just fail me today Sacramento preserved d r roen to partner with an All-Star guard with All-Star guard dearn Fox All-Star Center damont sabonis and promising young forward King and Murray in a bid to become a more explosive offensive team in the Western Conference and yes they will mean so we’ve been talking about this Channel How the West keeps getting better the kings are now I assume going to be better let’s skip all the stuff about D rozan no disres to D rozan if you’re a San Antonio Spurs fan he played for us for three years we don’t have to go over what he’s done in the league we know we saw him for three years as far as our Spurs are concerned the Spurs bring on Barnes 32 to join free agent arrival Chris Paul Barnes averaged 12 points three rebounds for the Kings last season shooting about 47% from the field and about 39% from three-point range on 4.7 ATT attempts per game I forgot this he won an NBA title in 2015 with the Golden State Warriors so he is an NBA champion his career averages are 14 points and five rebounds since being taken with the seventh pick in 2012 by The Warriors the Spurs will take Barnes into the remaining cap space to make the deal work so again reiterating we’re at a cap and now that’s where I got to draw or I to talk about my two cents course drop your two cents down below love to read your comments your thoughts on the Devonte Graham thing and your thoughts on Harrison Barnes becoming a there’s a lot to unpack here so I’m going to go over my my my whole Spiel first off this is a vet for one Iranian has a great reputation he’s going to be a mentor probably to soan maybe to just a lot of the guys on the team we’ve been talking about how the team needs vets we have them Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes one be one and some vets in we got them he’s going to help our floor spacing he can shoot and score and that’s about it at this point of his career he’s not a great defender he’s not a great rebounder and he is absolutely not a great passer or playmaker as evidenced by his 1.8 assists per game career average if he gets the ball he’s looking to shoot and the second option is going to be to shoot the third option going to be to shoot he’s going to take the shot he has in the books next year for1 million as well I do have a slight concern there because we have a lot of picks in next year’s draft and if we end up hitting a home run and getting the first overall pick we might have some cap issues is this a player though the Spurs could look to like Chris Paul could this be a situation where we have him right now and then when the trade denline comes up is this a player that we can maybe try to move to a a team that needs shooting I I don’t know um I see these are the these are clearly especially chis Paul these are shortterm fixes if you will but they’re good fixes they’re going to help Mentor all our young guys and speaking of all our young guys this is what I really wanted to address and really I really wanted to get from you guys guys what happens with our depth chart the starting lineup appears to be in looking around online and I assume Barnes is going to start looks like the starting lineup is wemy soan Barnes vasel and Chris Paul so we’re going to have a nice mix of young and I don’t say old vet the primary bench looks like it’ll be in Collins probably Mamu obviously kelman Trey and Castle is got coming off the bench with us getting these two vets I can’t see any way shape or form now that he starts unless he kills it in summer leag preseason which we’re going to talk about him in just a few moments but with that being the depth chart what happens to the young guys we’re developing City Soko is he going to see any minutes now or is he just going to ride the pine Julian champeny I didn’t like him in the starting lineup I certainly think he be assed Off the Bench and then our picks from a couple years ago Malachi brandom and Blake wesling are we done developing them are they going to get any time whats ever Charles bass is also on my list but he might not even be on the roster by season start so I think that’s my biggest issue with these moves is we needed shooting so bad SP fans we know we know we know we needed shooting we got it but what happens with the development of our young guys or is it just on pause for a year is this going to be a hey you’ve been struggling you know you’re going to get less minutes is there a chance that Malachi Bren with Blake Wesley could go to the G link champeny to Soko to I’m very curious to see what the Spurs rotation is going to Bean now that we’ve added Chris Paul and Harrison Barnes And as far as the summer league we have to talk about the summer league because the debut was last night or the the first game for the Spurs we had a lot of debuts and so we’re starting off with a way too early impressions in regards to the summer league but I want to talk about it because it happened yes we got blown out the defense sucked but there were some takeaways and my takeaways I want to start with is Stefon Castle looked really good at times his shot from Beyond The Arc couple of them looked not worried about his mechanics let me just say that if somebody can’t shoot you need to fix their shooting and you have to fix their mechanics that could take years the mechanics look good he was two four from Beyond The Arc fired away with confidence and one of them was probably what six feet behind the line so that’s a good thing played solid defense sure there were some mistakes here and there is expected he’s a rookie and he missed a lot of shots in the paint which is kind of OD I don’t know if he’s been practicing with Jeremy soan but he had Jeremy soan itis if you remember Jeremy he was fin at finishing the at the rim with dunks last year but everything else in the paint seemed to just get on the rim and then roll off Ste Stefon Castle had that last night just for whatever reason whatever he thrown up around the rim in the paint mostly was not going in his assist numbers don’t look good on paper that’s not his fault he made some darn good passes last night problem is none of our guys could hit a shot I think we shot as a team under 25% from the field it was abysmal it was close to 25 whatever it was it was bad but I like what I’m seeing I saw a few Spurs fans say that he looked slow out there didn’t seem slow to me he got where he wanted to on the floor and that’s an important thing he used his abilities use his strength to get to the points he needed to Luka donic isn’t a fast player by any stretch in imagination but when I watch him play he always goes where he wants to doesn’t matter he just he just finds his spot whatever so I like what I saw from Castle I want to see more of course the Spurs are playing the playing somebody tonight I’m playing the Kings tonight it’s a 10 o’cl game eastern time late we’ll be live as far as other players City Soko please take this to gra of salts for fans he didn’t look good but he also does not look healthy he had a scope on his knee recently I don’t think he’s 100% he does not look like the player that we saw finish the season last year I don’t even know if maybe he shouldn’t even be out there if he’s not 100% but he clearly looked off he also lost a lot of weight so that might be affecting his game right now Harrison Ingram he rebounded well was sloppy at times maybe there’s just nerves not a great debut but also just the debut so let’s let’s temp our expectations and and disappointing news for myself and some of you Riley Min went out with an injury only a minute and 19 I think to the game or play time for him a minute 19 an early report I saw said possible dislocated shoulder I hope that’s not the case because it dislocated shoulder obviously it hurts to get it popped back in but if he needs surgery that could keep him out for an extended period of Miss he would miss all summer league that would be it so best of luck to him I hope he’s okay I hope that’s not the case but that I was looking forward to seeing him play and he was in and then he was out and I didn’t even I didn’t even see what happened to him as far as some other takeaways that are not so positive for our summer league guys and you guys have mentioned this jir Nelson Jr and Seth Milner Jr were awful last night granted it’s just one game but my goodness I’m pretty sure I read maybe it was yesterday’s video that Jamir Nelson uh he likes much shoot first shoot first shoot first and he was taking a lot of shots he finished I think three of 10 from the field turn the ball over a few times it did not look good and as far as coach Kenny Treno is concerned you know he like Castle play gave him some minutes this I believe this was his first time ever coaching so got to temper his expectations I got to temper everything but as Spurs fans what we didn’t want to see is a blowout we didn’t want to see our guys get blown out because we had so many huge losses last year the 18 game losing streak and it just you’re you’re coming of this season and it’s it’s this isn’t this game doesn’t count per se but you wanted to see more than I think it was a 32 blowout last night so hopefully play better tonight we’ll be live for every game for those of you that don’t know the games are on NBA TV and ESPN 2 or all games I believe are being televised on ESPN plus so that’s all I got hope to see in the chat tonight drop a comment Down Below on anything we talked about devont
