Current roster is easily too good for bottom 3.. we need to move Simons and Grant for picks

For the upcoming seasons, for tanking teams it’ll be mission “Capture The Flagg” (The idea is not my own I saw it elsewhere but liked it a lot)

This last season (and even the season before that) showed that even if we’re the worst team in the league there’s no guarantee of picking top 3. We’ll probably be last in the West again this year unless the Jazz really lean in to tanking. We’ll have a good chance at top 3 but even then just a 14% chance picking at #1.
But none of that matters cause Flagg would look good in red and black

Tank for Flagg. If we don’t get him, it is still supposed to be a good draft otherwise. We can then focus on winning the following season.

I think this year is more important to tank than any other year. Cooper obviously being the big fish but its a stacked draft class and we need THE guy. Scoot or Shaedon could become that but I don’t know. I think Sharpe has all star potential. Scoot I will wait to see this next season to determine that. Either way, we absolutely need a top 4 pick in this next draft

The league would probably be against him getting drafted by the Trailblazers
eh_Im_Not_Impressed
I think we should tank for the next two years to get a real shot at Flagg and AJ. Both are gonna be studs.

We could really use some luck. Flagg is going to be great and getting #1 would finally be some good luck for this franchise
Which is why you can basically guarantee it won’t happen

The west is gonna be a battle ground, I don’t see a single team that will have a worse record besides Utah if they trade Lauri.
The east on the other hand, will probably have 4 maybe 5 teams with worse records. Pistons, Bulls, Nets, Wizards, hornets but at the same time, top odds are only 14.5%, if our team lands at in the top 3 odds.
Portland might be more competitive, but I doubt our record hits 30 considering how many strong teams we play.
AGentleSeacow
This is most important season to tank maybe in blazers history. Getting a top pick could change our history for the better. I like sharp and scoot but we need an MVP level talent to compete and this draft most likely has it

Yeah I think we’re probably problematically mediocre. People forget how much injuries and utter lack of chemistry affected the season last year, yet we were still on pace for 26 wins at the end of January and required some shameless “injuries” to hit that 21 win mark. We’re not going to be a play in threat, but having the 6th-9th best odds would not be ideal.
Losing Brog should help but continued development from Scoot, Shae, Bari, Tou, and Kris plus the additions of Deni and Clingan is likely making up for it.
Would really like to see one of JG or Ant moved prior to the season start. More to open up the rotation and prioritize developmental minutes (gotta give Chauncey less vets to lean on) than to encourage losses but likely accomplishing both.
