Houston Rockets Sign Kira Lewis Jr. My Thoughts!!

yo what’s going on guys this Houston Sports Talk Back another video day and today the Houston Rockets have signed Kyra Lewis Jr to their summer league um as the Rockets aren’t really officially signing Kyra Lewis Jr to a contract but Kyra Lewis Jr will be joining the Houston Rockets for the summer league when the Houston Rockets play their first game on Friday July 12th against the Los Angeles Lakers the Rocket summer league team already before Kyra Lewis Jr was announced to be joining the team is already you know not not full but um has you know has a couple guys on the roster seven players already on the roster before Kyra Lewis Jr was announced to be joining this Rockets 202 2024 summer league team or more League I think it’s called the 2K 25 summer league uh Reed Shepard cam Whitmore uh Nate Williams AJ Griffin Nepali Dante Nate Hinton and Germaine Samuels are the guys that have been announced to be playing the Rockets summer league team already now Kyra Lewis Jr is added to the list Kyra Lewis Jr was the 13th overall pick in the 2020 NBA draft he played 28 games in the 23 24 season with the Pelicans Raptors and Jazz averaging 10 minutes per game shooting 37% from the floor averaging 3.2 points per game 1.3 assists per game in the 2223 season with the Pelicans he played 25 games with 9.4 minutes per game shoot shooting 45% from three sorry 45% from the floor 44% from three he averaged five points per game with 1.3 rebounds per game and one assist per game the 2122 season with the Pelicans he played 24 games of 14.4 minutes per game shooting 40% from the floor and terrible from three average six points per game with two rebounds per game and two assists per game and a half a steal per game his rookie season he played 54 games he averaged 17 minutes per game shooting 38% from the floor and 34% from three he averaged 6.4 points per game 2.3 assists per game and one steal per game now I want to go over what he did in the g-league this season in the G League this season um he played 10 total games in the g- league averaging 32 minutes per game 15.2 points per game he also averaged um he also averaged with with his with his um 15.2 points per game this season in the G League he shot 32% from three uh his field goal percentage was 43.2% he averaged 2.4 rebounds per game and 5.2 assists per game with two steals per game uh you know I not not minding this addition for the rockets at all in the summer league he’s a very solid point guard um you know I’m excited to see what lineups the Rockets potentially uh might use in the summer league going into you know um you know against the Lakers on Friday obviously think guys that cam Whitmore AJ Griffin and Reed Shepard of course are going to be in the starting lineup but I think the two other starters could be interesting uh because look Cyra Lewis Jr who we’re talking about right now could be a starter nefale Dante who’s an unsigned free agent for the Rockets could be a starter one of the best Rockets uh two-way contract guys Nate Williams could be a a starter uh a lineup I’d like to see for this Rockets team in the summer league uh would probably in my opinion would be as much as I like Kye Lewis Jr I think my favorite lineup for this Rocket summer league team would be Nate Williams starting at point guard Reed she sorry sorry Reed Shepard starting at point guard Nate Williams starting at shooting guard cam Whitmore at the three AJ Griffin at the four and nefale Dante at the five and then Off the Bench you have Germaine Samuels you have Nate Hinton and you have Kye Lewis Jr and whoever else might be on the team let me know your thoughts on the Rockets the Rockets having KY Le Jr join their summer league team in the comment section and peace out go Rockets
