    That’s awesome but uh rehab?

    Wtf happened to this man?

  2. I love seeing JJ praise Vando. If he can stay healthy all year, I bet he changes a lot of people’s opinions about him. Before he got injured, you could see the growth in his game from working with Handy over the summer. It’s now all about becoming consistent on offense and if he ever figures that out, watch out. If Rob doesn’t make any moves and this is the team we have, then I’m starting Vando and let Rui be the 6th man. You can’t have 3 poor defenders in your starting rotation and expect to compete every night.

We sorely missed Vando and Vincent last year for their willingness to do the dirty/hustle work

And for his part, Hayes has potential to do that too and showed some flashes of it late in the season

Is this dude even gonna be ready for the regular season. Or is he gonna start off the year hurt again 🙄

I like vando and he’s a good player when he can play but one of the problems with vando is the injury concerns. I think I read that he missed his junior year of high school due to foot surgery, his senior year due to another foot surgery, and then he missed a year at Kentucky due to foot surgery. I think I read he has had 2-3 surgeries on his left foot and 1-2 on his right. He was out this year with another foot injury, I’m not sure if he had surgery or not, but it’s not a good thing when guys have an extensive history of feet injuries. They usually end up dealing with feet injuries their whole career and sometimes other injuries start to happen due to the feet injuries. Hopefully vando can get healthy and stay healthy since I do think he’s a good player to have for the team and its depth.

Move him tbh u need two way guys not one way. I wish there was a way to shift Rui and Vando into one player.

Hopefully. We’ll see if JJ can resist the urge to bench him. I have a feeling that, as with all his previous coaches, there will be times when Vando doesn’t play due to spacing and turnover issues. Vando averages only 20 minutes per game for his career, and this trend might continue this season.

Vando has that X-factor/lightning in a bottle potential for the Lakers, we all know how good he is on defense, top tier motor, effective PoA, but also bouncy and range-y and can devastate on the switch.

The 2 keys are health and offense. Offense I think we’ll see a much better Vando next season. JJ has already spilled the secret sauce in his interview with Hurley a few months back. Use non-shooters in screens and motion and it’ll mitigate some of their inability to shoot.

Would like for them to find a way to start him, because his defense and rebounding is ultimately better than a guy who brings some offense and nothing else. Lakers have too many guys who need the ball to be effective and you don’t need 3 of those guys next to AD and LeBron. It’s not like OG is on the roster to start instead.

Vando also balances playing D’Lo, but for the playoffs they need a lineup w/out D’Lo. The best case scenario would be Reaves becoming 3rd scorer and handling the ball a bit more, LeBron taking the ball more in the playoffs, and another guy who doesn’t need the ball to be effective, spaces the floor, and can take the other team’s best guard on defense. Christie if he can take the leap? I think he has the tools for it.

Vando is our glue guy. He was brought in to solve a lot of the weaknesses on our team. Last year with him out we went from a top contender to mediocre because we had horrible rebounding and perimeter defense. Vando immediately solves both of those problems. Also in the like 10 games where he was healthy he was shooting over 40 percent from 3, which he worked on all summer with TP. This guy is gonna boost us big time and become one of the best 3nD guys in the league.

  11. Requires him to be healthy otherwise he’s worthless

  12. Yuph! And he also talked about how non-shooter can be used as screener to have more space within half court. To win, we needed someone who is willing to do the dirty work, Vando and Max are those players.
