Zach Ed looked absolutely awesome like that is precisely what you wanted to see from Zach Edy and summer league is all for being wildly hyperbolic after one Summer League game but you watch last night’s game and you think to yourself man the Grizzlies they got a steal with the number nine pick in this year’s draft look at the Finish look at the oh the MDG and the poster on Walker Kessler on actual young good big NBA player Walker Kessler I know some people wanted to see a little Zack Edy Kenneth Lofton Jr action going into last night instead you saw Zack Edy uh work his way around Walker Kessler look dominant on both sides of the court and he finishes with a double double we talked about it last week he can be the kind of player who rolls out of bed and gets himself a double double but you’re watching him and you’re like that Zack Kim’s done it again that’s the most fun response that you can have from game one of Summer league for a team is when all of that hope that you have convinced yourself that you have wrapped up into a player you see the first glimpse of it and the main thing that we will remember is yes the double double of 14 points 15 rebounds yes the blocks yes the dunk on Walker Kessler but you have the end of that game where Zach EDI gets the ultimate Redemption moment because he could have put the Grizzlies ahead with a potential game-winning putb dunk on the Scotti Pippen Jr Miss he misses the dunk Utah goes and gets a pair of free throws from Isaiah CER they foul up three smart move except the Grizzlies have Zach EDI and they have Jake laravia who makes the first free throw has the most perfect Miss of a second free throw that you could ask for and Zach Edy is there he’s ready to box out and he’s ready for the tip and suddenly we’re going to overtime and Zach Ed getting the game tying tip minutes after he had missed the potential game-winning dunk is an immediate like forget the bad moment move on to the good you see it you see all of the NBA conversation everybody within the NBA was tuned into this game because Zach is one of the most hyped players going into the summer league period because people want to see how he looks is he just big tall guy or is he actually a fit for the Memphis Grizzlies and to have the touch and the tip in that moment um that is what I will remember from Zach’s summer league debut amongst other pieces of his game that obviously stand out but like you had the signature moment you had the signature play the play that makes Sports Center zachi was the Second Story on every single Sports show this morning and that’s a cool place to be if you’re the Memphis Grizzlies the Jessica Benson show with CJ HT live every weekday at 8:00 a.m.
