Ryan Dunn Summer League Practice Media Availability | Phoenix Suns
how you guys doing how about you good how have the summer league practice has been so far it’s been good um highly competitive which I really enjoy um beginning up a down Le you know just learning a little about the offense and just playing with these guys and learning so overall it’s been good I’ve been enjoying my time this is good to Good Pete now after going through kind of the pre-draft process grind and then the draft now you’re finally getting close to actually being able to play in the sun I’m excited man like you said it’s been a long process with this prev dra and you know going from City to city and hearing my name get called and having a chance to play with the Suns I’m I’m forever grateful and thank you for the opportunity so you know just keep working in this game right for Vegas and like you said when that first step comes up maybe a little nervous maybe a little jous but excited to get on that for play kind of sticks up from the just first time I think it’s just well compete the harder we can this summer league you know just going out just you doing what we do um play hard play tough don’t don’t try TOA basic go out and feel like real uh it hasn’t really hit yet I think I think we on it might will or maybe this weekend but you know it’s I’m starting to realize it now like hey I’m here but it hasn’t really fated your appro what you want to show you know just just going on just you know just playing as hard as I can competing um offensively you know just being the same person was from college um are the best players in defending and know offensively just taking the shots that need to take um being able to do a lot lot more um but you know the biggest thing is just compete our can that can play hard I was talking to Tony Bennett he was telling me about your recruiting process and know you were willing to forego a scholarship to go there you end up getting one what was Virginia able to do for you in terms I don’t think I’ll be here without Virginia um in my honest opinion I think Co benett and and that coach staff did a great job pushing me um I think defensively really got me here and that’s what that’s something they doing me since day one um going down and competing and know guarding the best players and taking those matchups and using my athleticism you know disrup the offense um so I feel like that’s kind of something that the Suns saw on me and you know I give all I praise to co for that sounds like you hang your hat on defense any particular Defenders you had in your game after or um I watched a lot of guys like herb Jones o noi um guys that F my res um a little bit of like J McDaniels guys that are long athletic and then offensively what sort of steps you take especially you know obviously you know getting rep like shooting thre and getting putting on the ball on the floor um being able to run out and transition and Sh I can do there um and just getting reps you know just making plays off the D and you know making the right plays and just learning from mistakes over time in summer league how important is the screening and rolling and cutting element of your game on the offensive end I think I think it’s pretty big um in the summer in the summer fall you know we had a lot of great players and people might start ball watching so I think my ability just you know seeing them tur their back of their heads and you know just being able to cut some R more rebound offensive rebounding and finishing game extra possessions it can help a lot you get a chance to talk to the bets here on the team um talked a little bit talked to Rody a lot especially in the summer league um he’s been helping me a lot me alsoo and Jaylen a lot just you know learning how to be a pro learning a little little in and out of you know playing you know lot of lot lots of tips and tricks sorry a lot of people say defense is mostly effort then other people say it’s technique involved too here’s where you stand on that kind of balance I think it’s a little bit of both I think it’s more effort I mean you want you have to want to guard um you know just try to do your best to defend but I think a lot of technique as well um but I think mostly these times just you know that motor inside of you thank you guys

Ryan Dunn has the opportunity to change the future of this franchise.
All he needs to do is average 10 ppg. 3-4 rebounds and be a monster of defense. This suns team will win a championship.
In those 10 ppgs, he would have to make two 3s at 35 odd percent
