So can we still sign Gary Trent to a minimum deal this season??

Thought this would be a bigger contract. Does this take us out of the running for Lauri?
secretlypooping
more or less the official nail in the coffin for the last tiny speck of a Lauri dream and guys like Kuzma are mostly out of range.
A lot of useful players to be had in the $5-12M range though. Gives us plenty of room to make a trade deadline improvement.

unironically love this deal. obviously it’s flexibility for a midseason trade, but would be amazing if KJ developed a bit. a springy 24 y/o with a bit of size would be awesome addition to our relatively old team.

Hell yes, let’s go!

Cool 👍🏿

Why is it two years? Team option on the second?

A little bit disappointed that the ballon is not as big I hope it would be (Lauri dream is officially dead).
But if my calculation is correct, we will be just right below the first apron after we fill out rest of our roster with vet min.
Staying below the first apron have some benefits. The most important one are:
1. Can take in more salaries than sending out in a trade
2. Can basically sign anyone from the buyout market
Edit: Bobby Marks and other reputable sources just said we will be right at the first apron

Does this mean KJ Martin and Ricky Council IV going to battle for backup 4 spot in training camp/preseason?

Getting paid an extra 5 or so mill to be a trade piece must be so nice lmao

*whispers* I think he’s a useful player, especially for this roster, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if this “balloon deal” is considered perfectly reasonable by the trade deadline

Written into his contract is how must lose a few high stakes poker hands to Caleb Martin every week.

Not bad. I thought it was gonna be a big balloon. Like 99 Big Balloons.

If it’s front loaded, say 12 this year then i think they could do Martin and the rookies plus picks for markkanen.
I don’t personally think they should trading picks honestly, I think they are set up nicely to win now and still get the post embiid era started nicely with the clippers picks. I would much rather Martin be moved later for a quality pf and maybe they can also attach McCain and one or two of the sixers picks more than I would like to see them empty the vault for LM. Don’t get me wrong, I won’t be mad if it is LM and they are just gonna go for it now. It’s just not what I would do.

Alright so who are some guys that make 8m that may be dealt at the deadline due to being on a bad team or having 1 year left and team won’t extend?
GOAT_Redditor
Can we aggregate him with another contract at the deadline?

Fits for Charlotte for Cody Martin
