I personally think Tristan Newton didn’t receive near enough minutes. We drafted him in the second round, and he had imo a very impressive draft resume, winning many big east awards and not to mention 2 national championships.
This picture clearly shows that while he did pick up 3 fouls within 7 minutes, Newton recorded 4 assists, a rebound, and only missed his one single attempt. I hope he gets the minutes he deserves to show his worth in this summer league, I think he’ll really be the steal of the draft with the right coaching.
Besides that, Tshiebwe had an amazing game! 17 points and 19 rebounds with 4 assists and only one turnover? Though his defensive stats weren’t very impressive, he only had 2 fouls, and still got 1 steal.

Newtons has been underrated for years. Guards win games, especially in college and he helped deliver back to back championships. This is all just one summer league game tho so hard to take away much
I too have no idea why he didn’t get a significant amount of minutes considering Jacksons play. He’s too seasoned to make the kind of turnovers we were seeing tonight. This one left me scratching my head.
Someone else mentioned in the game thread that he got hit in the head and didn’t come back.
