[Charania] Denver Nuggets No. 22 overall pick DaRon Holmes II has suffered a torn right Achilles tendon, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium. He’s expected to miss the 2024-25 season. Devastating blow for one of the Nuggets’ promising young pieces.

Nuggets bros do not deserve this. Prayers to Holmes!

  4. Nooooooo! One of my favorite prospects, was thinking he’d get some immediate minutes off that Denver bench. Awful news, hope he recovers quickly.

Man, I really liked him coming into the draft. This fucking sucks. Hope he’s able to get back to 100%.

  6. ImTheBestNerd

That’s so unfortunate. Thought he was a perfect fit for Denver, really liked the pick. Tearing your Achilles this early is so fucked.

  7. fastlikeanascar

Fuck man, I thought he was going to a really solid player.

  8. gigantism

Awful and surprising news. It didn’t seem that serious to me live.

  9. That sucks. Hopefully he can make a full recovery.

Really hoped it wasn’t going to be a tear but didn’t look good at all during the game. Hate seeing injuries during any game but especially during summer league rookie year.

Damn that’s already the second rookie out for the season if i’m correct. This class lowkey cursed already.

God damn that sucks. Really rough offseason for Denver

devastating man, he had a real role as a backup big, i was praying the nuggets drafted him and now this, the backup big rotation is now saric, deandre jordan and zeke nnaji

Holmes was already considered by many to be in danger of being too much of a tweener on defense and if tearing his Achilles causes him to lose some athleticism that might already be curtains for his NBA career before it even properly began. Really hoping that isn’t the case for him.

Mother. Fucker. I was insanely hyped to see DaRon play and that is a nasty injury. Rest up big guy.

Just brutal brutal luck for the Nuggets, but more importantly for Holmes himself.

Achilles aren’t the death sentence they used to be, but that’s gonna wipe out at least a year and possibly more.

    Fuck this sucks.

  19. WholeWideHeart

You hate to see it. Such an awful way to start his career. Poor kid.

  20. Son_of_Atreus

Holy shit. They traded up for this guy as he was a NEEDED player for this squad.

I guess all the Zeke Nnaji slander needs to be shelved.

Kroenke: ah crap. I have to pay this guy?

Week 18 post-op for my own Achilles repair. I’m still unable to walk on my tip-toes or do 3 full calf-raises on that leg. It’s not the most painful injury I’ve ever had, but the slow recovery grinds you down hard.

Background: Mine happened jogging in a straight line at a moderate pace. No twisting/jumping/cutting. Just felt like someone kicked me in the back of the calf and I went down. Suddenly unable to point my toes. Surgery 5 days later because they didn’t want to risk it retracting.

Much love to the big guy. It’s a long road back.

Feel bad for the Nugs and fans. Sucks for the rook. Hope he can come.back strong.

Damn 🙁 He was looking so good too 💔

Feel bad for the Nuggets, they really needed him to give Jokic some rest
