  1. Still have to be careful with the picks. There is no guarantee that 30y/o Lauri will return any meaningful asset when it’s time to tank

I can do top 3 protected in 25 but anything past 26 has to be top 10 protected

Right answer. They need to maximize Stephs career. We’re not sniffing a finals appearance for years after he retires.

Other stars at 36 = At best, getting washed. Most of the time, washed.

Steph at 36 = Yeah we’re trying to maximize **the rest** of his prime.

Steph isn’t in his prime. He’s getting worse. Not better. Not holding steady. Hopefully the front office is not delusional enough to believe otherwise.

  5. I hope his performance at the Olympics will show just how good he still is and open the eyes of both fans Worldwide as well as players. That’ll also help our own FO remember just how big of an asset he is and perhaps even increase the chances of some good to great star players wanting to come.

And it wasn’t the past 2 seasons? LOL come on man

  7. Dunleavy can say one thing but his opinion is not the most important. What does Joey, the true GM, think?

I’ll believe when I see it because this org and front office has a habit of saying one thing and operating with a different mindset since Lacob and his sons have increased their influence in basketball decisions.

Maximizing the rest of stephs prime should have been this organizations only priority for the past 5 seasons but it hasn’t. You would argue that it should’ve been even more so the past few years but it wasn’t. They half assed it because they prioritized things that aren’t important until steph is gone. It wasn’t top priority when steph was 32-34 but it will he now that he’s 36-37? Yeah right.

“Steph at 38 has lost a step. But we love curry. We want him to be with us a very long time. He’s a legend so we hope to retain him”. When have I heard this before?
