welcome back to another episode on the ml balls page in today’s video we’re going to be talking about how scary the Memphis Grizzlies are going to be next season [Music] man all right so the Memphis Grizzlies last year they were not your typical 13th seed they were the team I believe last year they had the most players that were ever on a roster throughout a calendar year because D this team was the most unlucky team throughout everything I mean let’s just talk about the last time we saw a healthy Memphis Grizzlies that was in the playoffs against the Lakers where Dylan Brooks was poking Bears you know Dyan Dylan Brooks was out there poking Bears John Mar was out there dropping 40 and jiren Jackson was blocking having a block party I think that’s when jiren Jackson won DPO so that that Memphis Grizzlies team when they were they had a lot of Promise Desmond Bane didn’t even mention him now that team has has had a gap year where a lot has changed but the core is still intact so now you have GG Jackson who’s going to be in that core you have Zack e who’s going to be in that core and those are two great pieces that fit this team perfectly GG Jackson is going to be that small forward that they’ve been missing and Jack Zack Eed is going to be that that paint presence because they needed a legit five and hey it don’t get I ain’t saying there’s a lot there’s not a lot of people more legitimate at the five position than Zack Edy and he’s a rookie and I’m pretty confidently saying that Zack Edy um people are lying about him can’t get down the court understanding it was just a summer league game he was getting down the court and in college he wasn’t doing that bad either people talking about like Zack ‘s gam isn’t going to translate in the NBA he does all post Hooks and stuff like that and then people complain that Rudy Gober can’t do simple stuff like post hooks you know it doesn’t make any sense to me of course Zack Ed isn’t going to play like that in the NBA y’all complain Rudy gobear can’t do that so Zack Edy having that in his bag to if anything should impress you you know because that means like in a playoff game you’re not GNA be able to put a small ball Center on Zack he because he’s gonna punish that he’s gonna punish any small ball lineup so that’s a good thing that Zack Edy has post game I don’t know how people could look at him having a post game and looking that negatively I I don’t get that either way Zack Ed is one of the best screen Setters and one thing that John Mor loves him that boy John Mor love him a screen Setter and if you know about Stephen Adams you know him and John Mor they that was a nice duo in the pick and roll game because of how good of a screener Stephen Adams is watching Zack Edy he is creating so much separations on screens for Scotty Pippen Jr and that boy have so much work work so much room to work with I can’t I could imagine what John Mor’s going to do with that you know a guy who gonna be averaging multiple rebounds or I said multiple double digit rebounds he gonna be get he gonna be having a block party some games and he gonna be able to just finish in the paint there’s no problem with that Zack Ed also has shown promise as a shooter he is a decent shooter I believe I I will double check that just to see what his free throw shooting stats is that’s some that I personally like to look at to see how much promise somebody has as a free throw shooter it kind of shows like you know what what your the basics of your form you know but Zack Edy man that that that that was an amazing draft pick and Home Run pick by the Grizzlies because he could have legitimately been one of the best college players of all time people don’t understand what Zack Ed just did at Purdue he averaged 25 points 12 rebounds how many blocks two blocks that that is super impressive man on 62% from the field dude that that is super impressive his free throw percentage was 71 and it was 73 last year 71 his rookie year at Purdue rookie year is a funny thing to say but 71 his first year and he did have a year where he shot 65 but you know his his his shooting is mid and as a 74 Center that’s cool to have a mid form you know he’s a mid shooter which is a good thing as a center 300 lbs he’s going to be most games Zack Ed on the court he’s going to be the biggest player on the court he’s 74 300 PB he’s going to be the biggest player on the court a lot of the times and jiren Jackson is gonna be right next to that and when we look at jiren Jackson his biggest weakness is being the biggest guy on the court yeah he’s super he’s super good defensively like as a rer and as a helps side Defender but when it comes to being the the drop player you know he fouls a lot and he doesn’t grab rebounds hey Zach Ed he he’s gonna grab rebounds and he’s gonna also be a ve very big presence with block shots so you’re gonna have two of those guys that’s nice that’s nice and jiren Jackson he also he improved as an individual player because of the Gap year he was asked to have the ball in his hands more you know he had a higher usage rate he also he’s shown that he’s not a number one option of course but he gotten better at playmaking slightly I’m not saying that like jiren Jackson is going to be this seven assist guy no no no but he’ll be three you know cool he’s a power forward let him be um GG Jackson I don’t really I would prefer GG on the bench and trading Marcus Smart for like the perfect fit at small forward so I could just make this the best starting five in the NBA but you know up to the Grizzlies because Marcus Smart him starting at small forward and then being a backup point guard throughout the game that’s also cool you know you you have your first rotation be like johnar on the bench you put in Marcus Smart at point guard then you slide GG to small forward that’s not terrible it’s not terrible at all you you could still be a top you could be a playoff team with that and when I say playoff team I mean top six seed I think they’ll be higher than that but you could be a playoff team with that rotation uh talk about like how they could improve this roster they have a player like Marcus Smart who’s super valuable they have a lot of young players like GG Jackson who I Nam and they have all of their first round picks that that is super duper important having a all of your picks is man that’s a nice thing for the Grizzlies because they could have went out and got them a Mel Bridges you know they could have went out and got them somebody nice so hey they Grizz these man I’m so scared on what this team could literally only get better from last year you know last year was the lowest of the lows everybody’s back like I said this team last year probably had the most players on a roster of all time because of how many injuries was going on that that’s a real that’s a real like dark place to be you know if you were a Grizzlies fan and you watched games last year shout out to you man shout out to you because I know that was hard because last last year I was watching some games man I’m like who is on the court for the Grizzlies right now but one thing I do like about it is their bench players who’s going to be on their bench this year a lot of those guys are starting last year against starting caliber players you know John coar Santi Alama Brandon Clark GG Jackson like I name Jake Laria those guys are nice bench players Vince Williams who were playing against starting level players so now they’re going to go onto the bench and be playing against bench players you know they’re they’re going to be a little more sharp you know and and they’re G to be on point because those guys were playing a lot of minutes last year you know their minutes are going to go down they’re their usage rate is going to go down but I think their productivity is going to go up because now you’re going to have a guy like John Morant who’s going to be creating so much play for these guys going downhill creating so much space that these guys are going to get open shots last year they weren’t generating open shots like I said jiren Jackson he would be operating the offense sometimes and that is not jiren Jackson’s game you know they were just unfortunate team and you know everything went wrong this team though John Mor got him mature got him mature I do I’m we’re just going to blindly believe in you know he’s 25 he’s 24 years old he turns 25 next month so you know just young and young and doing young things he he ain’t even in my opinion bro johnan didn’t do do nothing that crazy though he it it was just the injury also that that ruined everything because he did come back after 25 games it ain’t like he was suspended the whole season for real he actually got hurt after just unlucky so yeah this year johnar last year where the Grizzlies did terrible it was all your fault all your fault so this year all you could do is come back with vengeance and I do think he’s going to come back pissed off I think John Mar is going to come back and be an all NBA player BR johnar is that good and the Memphis Grizzlies is that good and to all those people when tyus Jones and the Memphis Grizzlies would win games when johnar was on the bench because johnar used to rest against Bad teams and y’all used to say that John Mor isn’t a good player that narrative is going to change a lot because if you were there when tus Jones would start for the Grizzlies at times tyus Jones is a great player by the way and it’s still in free agency somehow I don’t know how but when tyus Jones would start for the Grizzlies they they would have a nice win record and people would be like John Mar’s overrated because of is even though people looked at the context like they they were playing against like the Pistons and stuff and johnar would just rest but who cares who who cares to defeat the purpose he’s about to degate all of those allegations this season because johnar like I said he gonna come with all Vengeance and be a all NBA player this year y’all believe me on this Zack Edy I’m really high on on him and the core of this roster they fit well together the only questionable piece is Marcus Smart and no matter what he has a floor because Marcus Smart can play small forward he is one of those guards he doesn’t guard on the perimeter Marcus Smart is very much a post Defender and a wing Defender so it’s not crazy that he’s playing small forward I could see it I dislike it because he’s 63 but you know he could be a three and D small forward for sure not crazy at all I can see the vision but you know I would rather you know get some so you know you got margus SM who’s valuable in all your picks dude the Grizzlies could get scary real quick and they already are scary this is their floor right now this team that they have is the worst it’s gonna be this season because they could only get better because I think Zack Ed is only going to improve and I think with all the assets that they have they could only improve as a team and trust me when the Memphis Grizzlies start this season and are on fire with all of their picks they’re going to buy into the season a little bit and they’re going to do something that’s going to shock us and they’re going to do something that can make them a legit finals Contender you know they could open up their window this year it’s not open yet because they’re one piece away but they have all of their picks and valuable assets on this team they could find that piece I don’t know what it
