he guys what’s going on welcome back to Top Line it’s your boy Chris and uh well well well ladies and gentlemen hope everybody’s having a great great great great great great great Wednesday man um hold on all right now let’s talk about it man the Toronto Raptors with the 45th pick select Jamal she make sure I’m pronouncing his name right Jamal Jamal Sheed she I I don’t know I keep I keep want to say sne for some reason um but he to me it just your prototypical Raptor point guard for some reason they love the undersized um guards um now she is a little different because he he’s not the shooter of a Fred Van Fleet um you know he he he he he’s more of a facilitator um he can’t score the ball um but he it’s not I think that’s something they’re going to have to work with him on I think that’s something but we all know one of the biggest thing to rap The Pride himself on this Player Development looking at looking at um looking at she man I’m thinking more along the lines of like I want to say Pat Beverly but if you Pat Beverly if you take away the Antics like a a a a a a dog on defense a dog on defense man um I think I love I love when when players come that are known for their defense because it allowed the offense to come Remember When when when when kawh Leonard came into the league it was only about his defense it was his defense defense defense and then the offense came together and when the player come in they’re known it’s it’s like when a player come in and he’s known for his offense let’s say you’re three-point shooting people people looking at it hey you hey they not it it’s a little more pressure on them um but when they’re known for defense this shooting could come you feel like man hey he come in he BL his roll on defense whatever he give you on the offensive end know that just butter baby that just butter and I think that she is one of those guys who offensive game is going to get better and better and better and better and then then you got to think um now again we’re I I think he’s he’s your two he um maybe your backup um may make it you know as your backup but I think he going to see some playing time um I don’t know if it’ll be as Ricky year I I definitely don’t think it’ be early but I think he will see some playing time and I think that his his defense will get him on the court his if if if it’s hard to find especially in this NBA where everybody want to jack up threes and everybody want to shoot shots and all of that that R run a score up when you find someone that’s committed on the defensive end and can really impact the game on the defensive end you got to get them playing time you if they can prove that they could impact the game on the defensive end I think he averaged uh last year averaged two steals a game you know that’s that’s and you bring that you you bring that intensity because this is the thing about this in my opinion when it comes to to to defense hold on this is my thing when it comes to defense I really believe that it’s infectious if you got one guy out there busting his butt on defense I think it forced a lot of other guys be like all right come on all right all right come on bro let’s get it you know what I’m saying it’s more like all right I a’t going to let him do it by itself let me get out here and get it with him you know what I’m saying it it picks up um it picks Pi up the energy and I actually think when when a team defensive energy pick up the offense comes easier if you’re hustling bustling grinding trying to get your steals trying to make every shot hard trying to do trying to do whatever it takes to get a shot I mean to stop a shot a create a a steal or whatever and you go they it’s going to lead to easy buckets um it’s going to be interesting to see how this season play out for the raps it’s going to be a very very very interesting season coming up because this is a Scotty Barn year this is Scotty B they got the keys they say here you go young fell it’s your boat now this this this is your team now sir do what you got to do it’s got it be do what you got to do you got the keys you got your money now go out there and get us something um now do I say am I saying oh they Championship contenders this year no but I think that they’re putting the right piece is around cuz even though as much as I’m I’m I’m I’m estatic that this is Scotty Barnes team right cuz I I want to see him in his position shout out to the a85 baby shout out to FSU you know what it is FL all day anyway um but as as excited as I am Scotty Barnes I’mma say this and I do not want y’all to take this out of out of context Scotty bars to me is more of a LeBron James type of player not saying he’s LeBron then he is a Kobe or Mike meaning he is a willing passer Kobe and Mike are forced to pass like all right all right all right the whole team on me okay they five of them on me the benches on me the the referees is guard everybody all right I guess I’ll pass it where Scotty Barnes and he has the ability to what I want to see from Scotty Barn though is to be a lot more aggressive and those those passes will come easier sometimes watching Scotty it felt like they knew he wanted to pass so that defense they didn’t come off of the the three-point guy they didn’t come off of come off of their man because they know Scotty wanted to pass well if Scotty Bor come in and set the tone that I’m going score early and that forc the defense to suck it in and then he kicks it out boom kick it out boom you look at the the people they putting putting around they’re putting Shooters around now obviously um um she is not a shooter um but I can see a a a point in time where you can have a a Sheed and Scotty Barnes on the court at the same time especially when you need that D when you need defense um you got Scotty BS who can play some play his butt off on defense you you can have out there that can play his butt off on defense you got Perle that’s a protector you see what I’m saying it can boost your defensive prowers just from that standpoint that that that giv she a lot of value man um but we’ll see how it all plays out um I’m I’m loving watching the re build um I it hey y’all know me I I said hey man keep keep SE yakum and barns and just build around those guys um Messiah Jer say shut up Chris I know how to run a team not you I said okay and then so you know it’s the Scotty B show now but I I love I love the the the addition of she I think you got to still at the 45th pit just from a defensive from a defensive perspective cuz the offense will
