@Golden State Warriors

The most objective, level-headed, and realistic analysis (read: not overly optimistic nor pessimistic) on the current state of the Warriors, the pros and cons of their options to improve, and their available path(s) going forward that I’ve heard to date.

This is a segment from The Ringer’s Group Chat podcast episode from July 5th (which means some of the guys they mention as being on the market aren’t anymore, but those outdated comments aren’t relevant to the Warriors anyway so it doesn’t change the content or relevancy of their analysis.

Link to the full episode is here.

  1. Setting aside several pieces of old/misinformation I do like where they are with this. I particularly like how they spoke about Kuminga in relation to trades and roster construction. Several times they made the point that Kuminga is integral to the possibility of success if we are bringing in other bigger names. Many fans look at Kuminga as simply expendable to bringing in another *star*. But a point I have made in here many times and what they speak to is that selling all of our assets with Kuminga for someone like Lauri, doesn’t move the needle too much. But if you can bring in Lauri WITH Kuminga. Now you could really have something. So yea I agree with the main premise here for sure.

    I generally like these guys and list from time to time.

    The one thing I disagree with them on is how Lauri would move the needle for our playmaking / shot creation.

    Yes, he’s not a guy that you throw the ball to and he creates stuff off the dribble. But with the warriors’ offense, a movement shooter like Lauri absolutely translates to playmaking
