Westbrook back to OKC?

The idea is actually mentioned in the above video on YouTube. I've always hoped Russ would come back before he retired. It would be great to see him coming off the bench as a well respected vet in this league behind Shai and the rest of our young guys. Russ has always deserved a ring for how hard he has played, no matter the team. (You can argue effectiveness but the man travels 110mph every play)Him winning a ring here in OKC would be the icing on the cake for me as a Westbrook fan. What say the rest of you?

Doesn’t fit into current timeline but I still want him here for his last years.

Westbrook has at least five more seasons in the tank, is still better than half the leagues reserve point guards, and doesn’t give a fuck about money anymore

    1. He’s going to Denver
    2. He’s not coming back here

  3. Nay, sir! I say nay! It’s not going to happen anytime soon for many reasons.

For one, cohesion — we have team that is great at flowing and passing the ball selflessly. That’s not Russ’s game.

Two, ego — Shai is our top star, and Russ would grab a large part of that share with local media and fans. Stealing deserved attention by the undeserving hurts morale. Thunder org has to keep Shai happy and wanting to be here.

Three, skill — our young team is getting better quickly. Russ is a wildcard. He doesn’t seem like the best example for a young team learning control. He works hard, but in this business, results are all that matter.

Lastly, no one simply deserves a ring. It’s not a participation trophy. It’s not an award for who works hardest. It’s for who ultimately wins, and to achieve that is a complicated formula.

I don’t see how RW fits, at all, with OKC’s timeline or where there is even playing time with how this team is built. Outside of nostalgia, it makes no sense.

The only time he should be back in an OKC uniform is part of a retirement ceremony. We can be thankful for his loyalty and what he meant to this fanbase along with the city without forcing a square peg into a round hole.

This shouldn’t even be a discussion.

  5. Timeline this, fit that, I don’t care. He always has a place reserved in OKC

I think Russ will come back when he’s ready. He wouldn’t make us trade for him.

Sign him as a free agent, I wouldn’t hate it, wouldn’t love it.
    Trade for him, absolutely not.

Unless it was something stupid like 2 2nd rounders.
