Stop Sleeping on the Memphis Grizzlies…

recency buys the strongest drug someone can take people are completely riding off the Memphis Grizzlies even though they were 50- win team in two of the last three years they lose John Morant for 73 games this year they lose Desmond Bane for half the season they lose a majority of their starting lineup for over half the season jiren missed 16 games Marcus Smart the new acquisition missed 62 games Brandon Clark even missed 70 plus games all these guys are missing crazy amounts of time and people just completely write the Grizzlies off for this year like they’re not going to be another 50- win team um they got to develop some young pieces last year in Vince Williams Jr Scotty Pippen Jr GG Jackson and still be able to bring in a top 10 pick in the draft and Zach Edy will’ll see what happens with Luke Canard but Edy I think is going to be a day one impact guy I think I was a little bit wrong about him in the summer league he was showing out he’s just a massive individual in the middle of that paint good screen Setter good roller I mean he can finish around the rim 14 15 rebounds and four blocks in the summer league debut including the one to sended into overtime there’s a nice Rim rum right there just causing Havoc at The Rim uh 7 fo4 with a 7 fo1 inch wingspan so obviously it’s about impossible to get a shot up off on him uh he’s he’s a great at running the rim as well I was a little bit wrong when I said he was unathletic at Purdue he can get down the court and when he gets you on the Block it’s pretty much over he had a nice counter move right there usually he likes to drop step and go over that left shoulder this time he drop stepped and then spun back the other way um nice little left-handed finish there even though my OBS decided to cut out and that’s Walker Kessler that’s no slob he averaged a he’s a really really good young defensive Center this year goes to the little right-handed hook right there he loves to do that and then um slips the screen rolls to the basket and dunks all over Walker Kessler yes he got sent back the first time but he got it back and he didn’t miss twice um and Walker Kessler again a 2.4 blocks per game last year so that is not a random guy they found off the street to come play center in the summer league there he is sending it to OT even though he just missed the game-winning dunk um and like I said just a force in the middle of the paint at 7 foot4 with a 7 foot1 inch wingspan now in college he was an absolute monster 25 points a game 12 rebounds 2.4 blocks on 63% shooting from the field and that go-to move of his that drop step over his left shoulder is just about unsto able he’s got great position here drop step little right-handed hook shot money um you’re just going to watch him do it over and over here another one money uh or actually that was a replay and then against Michigan right here um fakes like he’s going left and then gets right back to that left shoulder for the right hook um once again just overpowering he was too big too strong too good for the guys in college and now he’s going to go to the professional level and I think he’s you know maybe has a little bit of trouble adjusting but I think he’s going to fit right in I mean he’s 7 foot4 we may have misjudged this one he might just be too big to not be good at the next level if that makes sense I mean 7 fo4 absolute monster of a man he’s close to 300 lb he is an absolute unit out there um that could have been a travel but he gets it to go I don’t know what the starting five will be this is a good guess uh but if you play John Mor and Marcus Smart together that causes issues from the three-point line neither one of those guys can really shoot it um the only the three for sure starters are jaw Bane and jiren Jackson Jr we’ll see who they bring Off the Bench there is a whole cast of guys that they could start Marcus Smart last year averaged 14.5 points per game 4.3 assists 2.7 rebounds and 2.1 blocks obviously he’s still a great defender um only shot 43% from the field though and then 31% from three own 6.7 attempts in 30 minutes per game that is not good whatsoever get downhill here on Kevin Durant yes he’s always been very strong but he’s got to be better than 31% from Beyond the three-point line that is not good at all little back to the basket game here A Little Fall away and one over dbook so Marcus SM definitely could be a starter we’ll see what happens so the 45th pick in last year’s draft GG Jackson is also in contention to be a starter um last year he kind of shocked everybody came on and average close to 15 points a game 4.1 rebounds 1.2 assist in 26 minutes a game for an abysmal Grizzlies team but still he gave them a big spark last year only shot 43% from the field but 36% from three on 5.7 attempts for a rookie is not bad and as a wing you know there are expected to be growing pains he’s got good mechanics on his three-point jump shot um operates to pick and pick and roll very well get into that left-handed scoop layup um slithering off that screen there Aaron Gordon’s a really good Defender as well nice seal there by the big but he gets to that left hand and finishes video and with that being said let’s get back to the video now a couple guys that I think could lowkey be really really nice rotation pieces for the Grizzlies this year first Vince Williams Jr I mean he is a grown man 6 foot five uh and and can really shoot it with the left 10 points per game 5.6 rebounds 3.4 assist and one steal per game while shooting it about 38% from three so very good from Beyond The Arc four attempts 45% shooting from the field and know Vince another second round steal that the Grizzlies have gotten very nice value pick I like Vince a lot longterm Scotty Pippen Jr another guy another value pick for this Grizzlies team uh he can get a bucket averaged about 13 points a game last year 4.7 assists 3.2 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game so active on the defensive side of the ball um shot 49% from the field and 41% from three as a rookie guard in just 26 minutes a game very very impressive I think Scotty pipman Jr definitely has a spot maybe taking tus Jones place as that backup point guard in this rotation now where do yall have Jah in your top 10 point guard rankings because people have forgotten how good jar really is I mean he is a top fiveo guard in the league I think no doubt looking back at his numbers from 2022 2023 he averaged 26 points eight assists six rebounds and a steal per game while being the most freakishly athletic point guard in the league 47% shooting from the field 31% from three on five attempts in 31 minutes a game and I mean just watch this play this Taylor Jenkins genius right here where they run the Spanish pick and roll but they have J set the screen and run desban to the corner Xavier Tilman zy Williams are just chilling in the corner but nice pass here from Santo dama and Jah hammer at home that that is a beautiful play right there also getting jaah here the ball in the mid post little turnaround Fade Away ridiculously hard shot he’s absolutely dynamic in open space if you didn’t know that already I mean kind of hard not to know that um and then he takes it right to the rim on herb Jones here herb Jones not a pushover on the defensive side of the ball he is a very very good Defender one of the best in the NBA and J just took it right at him for game now Dez Bay averaged about 23.7 points a game 5.5 assists 4.4 rebounds and one Steel perk game as you know the right-hand man to JW usually last year he got a lot of time with this being his own team 47% from the field 38% from three on 8.6 attempts a game so pretty good season for Dez Bane last year even though he only played about 40 games obviously really really good shooter still um and then jiren Jackson Jr who had a bit of a Down year I mean yes he averaged more points coming at about 22.5 points a game 5.5 rebounds 2.3 assists and 1.2 blocks blocks were way down I don’t know what happened after that scandal with the score keeper we’ll see what happens there but he only shot 44% from the field and 32% from three on 5 and a half attempts so need to step that up but overall I mean still a ridiculously good rim protector um give me that Giannis I think you know the Grizzlies should be a another 50- win team this year this is a really really good team headed up by a really really good player we’ll see if they get Canard back that’ll be huge but with that being said that’s going to be it for today’s video thank you so much for
