be there from the beginning guys are warming up we’ve got the Rockets and the Wizards both winners on Wizards had three First Night round selections and we will see that his final game of Summer League getting two in and I guess the Rockets have probably seen enough you mentioned that double double already to get get to S tan George feeding in the corner to Johnny Davis who’s really felt and looked comfortable feels so much more comfortable in his skin this year yeah you’re talking about a guy that was a sometime it takes a little bit longer but they definitely have noticed a difference in Big East freshman of the year a couple years ago now see and fly Dante defending on the perimeter on Kean Geor so he can get that shot off Kean an outstanding perimeter shooter 40% at Miami going left that was a s side step going right that that’s not that shot that was not considered a good shot when when my guys were playing but now you have to have it in Your Arsenal and it seems also in the inter these guys work out this summer and a lot of them have most guys in the league have their own personal right Jason tat I mean these are guys that they rely on that shot like it on the left side better than the right side well when you go to your left your right hip and and shooting arm with the Panthers from Baltimore really was impressive last year as a freshman this time goes to his left Kean George 6’7 209 and Will Dawkins it is length it is versatility and that’s the way the NBA at the end of last season that’s the building blocks in the NBA right now is length and skill and Washington pu here certainly for the Wizards a year ago and they’re trying to add some an infusion and really nice Patience by Robinson player at the end of the bench for the Miami Heat and was waved and picked up Alex s the number two pick from France and with that length able to get over Robinson on the you have the luxury of being able to gather once you come to a stop before you go up for your release as Rob will end up playing five and a turn over Houston the other way cam Whitmore fouled able to muscle it up toward the rim 235 and by all accounts the leader of perfect guy to uh be here as like a mentor for reach effort going through this as a high drafter despite being the 20th pick and then went on to have a very good rookie year BB Carrington the 14th pick kind of remind me of and I look at at Jordan Clarkson as a guy that bu Carrington kind of reminds me of Mr Carrington got to Pittsburgh first game with the pit Panthers triple double and off he went oh great feed he read that from the right corner as Reed Shepard came up the floor that he could cut Baseline as Shepard would find him Griffin the steel evidence here’s Carrington stepping into a three missing it but fortunate that Johnny Davis was right there to cash in lesser playing time in Atlanta looking forward to this second opportunity in Houston Williams hits the three at least that he was still leaning back with his upper body and it just never really looked comfortable as he released the basketball it’s going to be shots right now are going to be comfortable for him at this level with this level of Defense 12-2 Houston run on that Griffin make and a nice not an easy shot at all turnover shamp Penney tried to push it ahead tipped fortunately toar and champeny 14 for the Rockets Whitmore with George ending up on the deck connects on the fade really nice deliveries in this game with difficult angles not a great sight line to be able to find the recipient but crazy talking about that uh before the game he’s you know he’s quiet by nature and was played well on the offensive end nice seal that time couldn’t get the basket from Nate Hinton and the rebuild is on under Brian Keith long NBA assistant who takes over permanently three first round picks in total so it it’s definitely a time of Hope in Washington that that could be George drives and kicks and a three-pointer is good for Cher capital city so very familiar with each other Whitmore coming off the screen gets fouled by he’s got such a knock for drawing contact and getting to the foul line bich to just lean a little bit and that’s exactly like we got a great organization really thankful to be part of it and decided to be out here in Vegas it’s summer Le coach you had every uh he’s got a good floor game understands sees the pictures and passing so we think there’s tremendous upside for him we’re thrilled to have guard all positions uh he’s learning and growing it developing it uh rather than force it something off balance he gathered took his extra half guys experience with guys of his size and his length uh we don’t ever want to put a limit on any of our guys um so we’re going to play so we’re going to open it up and see where he goes and see where he grows but we think he has a bright future as a guy who can kind of make all plays at allity um you can feel him on the court but he just he makes the right play on both ends you saw the first game the passing the rebound game some after this just cu the guy’s just a Hooper uh and talk about Kean Georgia 24th pick uh we’re excited about the opportunities to help them develop so as you take the end of last season the moves that were made some of the young our guys are we’re going to play Fast we’re going to play open court and we’re going to you just want to start climbing rungs in the ladder but how do you define success I asked him the same thing what well it sounds crazy but we want to get better every day and and that’s focusing on the process of how you do that your work ethic how you break to kind of get into coaching so always thankful for that and had had a great career with a lot of great mentors and coaches with PJs right at the top of the L watching his summer league guys going at it right now and a foul that time as right the state of your organization and where you’re at time so it’s it’s the culture and change just the mentality even if if it doesn’t necessarily train think that’s the first step in getting this thing turned around late shot clock for cam Whitmore was online not there great not only in the offensive glass they’re hurting him with their Cuts they’re hurting him in transition Reed Shephard with the free throw line jumper short pullup jumper Shephard the steel three onone trying to get it to Robinson who’s able to do a nice job year you played in summer league for the second time we were about I don’t know about 25 30 ft away and you hit a game winner do we all know we where we want to be and everybody just focus on that so at the end of the year I feel like everybody just so together and and the main thing the amount of talent we have and um I feel like it’s it’s one thing that I can say about all of them that will let that’ll make them fit in with us is they’re going to play hard georgeanna with Jabari Smith Jr right in front of us hit that three-pointer at the buzzer to open Summer League last year resembles him it would be shenon um just the way that he plays the pace he’s not overly athletic in terms of getting off the floor offensively to get what he wants and playing at a certain speed and Pace that’s what reminds me the most of yish re veteran players last year it’ll be the second year for Fred Van vet and Dylan Brooks as champen Euros for the bucket 90 seconds to go in the half Wizards down 10 trying to get something going and Johnny Davis tough shot to shoot soft when you’re going full speed to your left from that distance 57% and he hit north of 50% from the corner so if you were tracking that and keeping an eye on it you had a good an inch caught it and shot it right in the Cradle Whitmore with the steel you know he’s going to do something special rock yesterday between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics both teams scoring in triple digits to match the temperatures out here in B play against your child and Nerf ball he kind of that seconde guy uh dealt with injuries a little bit about halfway through but came back and finished strong League record of 120 as you pointed out that’s tough to do in 40 minutes Whitmore Griffin 5 Seconds To four for four from two Point Lane the first half and our second half getting underway here between a couple of teams that won their openers and a floater goes down for age a guy uh had a handful of games at the Rockets a year ago maybe he’s going to find himself a little bit more time this year champ peny on the offensive end it’s funny when he said that I was watching uh dayquon plen who’s playing on the Golden State Warriors summer league team and in Las Vegas throughout this 11-day adventure and they’ll be watching Reed Shepard with the steel that bounce Rockets extending the lead to 19 and a big hit by wide open look for keesan George and he splashes it created that opportunity for the corner three Wizards were four for 13 from three in the first half had four triples in his summer league opener now defending in a great wound by Davis no but Reed shepher putting together a nice little highlight package here in this quarter Rockets folks that we talked to and Garrett Jackson there summerly of Reed Sheard Sheard 16 points is when you talk about creating opportunities George on the kick pass will get called for bench last season saw a little cup of coffee with Portland a few years ago and now how high he just got off the ground on that pullup and that’s why he was so comfortable the he had a defender in front of him he can get that shot off and here again the advaned pass to Whitmore and re Shepard and cam Whit establishing some great chemistry a few minutes with us uh Reed Shepard your number three pick I figur we might as well start there cuz he’s starting to feel it right now he looks very traffic and then just separates cuz he’s got a burst or he gets off the ground just walk us through what you guys were looking at in evaluating it’s feel for the game as Elite he’s a really good passer um he’s a you you know actually the the day before I met I met him than that player did about Reed and um you know it obviously it told me a lot about Reed and also his teammate and so um it was a lot of people felt like was just a blessing to fall in your lap of 20 a year ago and yeah I mean cam is you know he’s obviously physically just you know blessed he was awesome um and he’s continuing it this year of all the things with him I think I’m most excited about is his uh season I I thought a couple of uh the position of AJ Griffin’s playing here played really well for Miami last couple years and we just like him as a as a as it’s a really good fit with our group of players and with me um and uh you know and and I I just I can’t wait to see what Alie looks like this year and uh you know and Jaylen you know really reback uh adding stepen Adams we you know we’re yeah we just we like our team and you know kind of can’t wait to team how important was that as part of their development and growth moving forward no I thought was great like it first of all it’s an honor to be asked save by Houston but that puts them at disadvantage five on four and cashed in by Johnny Davis and they got um be above 500 that’s going to put you in that category and uh they’ve got to love the future right now how it looks green is coming toward his prime Jabari Smith’s a young guy shenon amen Thompson and that guy can’t wh margin for error on those lobs to cam Whitmore he’s going to go get it no matter where it is Whitmore with 21 points and looking like two and done at the summer league for Camp he was selected number three you’ve seen virtually all of that on display some of the veteran depth as well with Jeff Green who’s had so much experience in the NBA and Rafel mention casually like oh don’t forget about Steven Adams like that’s a pretty big addition nuggets at 9:30 eastern time and then tomorrow starting at 6:30 Easter Reed Shepard will make a run at Alex SAR couldn’t hand gets it to the wing and a big three I think a little more involvement for Alex sawar today so he could finish on a positive note it’s a very quiet offensively nice finish Robinson who couldn’t finish tipped out to George had a good idea but turns it over and Whitmore will find Kean George sure to write kesan and didn’t put the last name there so Johnson rolled up my 22 points make it 23 as The Rock and you can see Washington coaches little bit frustrated right there because the ball just didn’t move at all you is the case when you take a force shot on one end you give up something easy on the other little easier basket straight line dribble drive to the rim that’s a much higher percentage shotton double figures with 13 great look great look player this young trying to get his feet GL at the NBA level Zar got the contest there and on the other end gets an easy Deuce two and three picks going head-to-head here in the fourth quarter offensive rebound Robinson double covered play really well I mean Houston’s had four guys really just show out here AJ [Music] Griffin boy the Wizards just can’t come up with a rebound blocked shot underneath champeny got a hand on it but boys Orlando Rob finishing everything he gets his hands on around the basket carington another very difficult great feel for the game um you know we’re not winning this one right now but but also them being patient with themselves and understanding you know this is a process be the starting back court for the Wizards to open up yeah Malcolm Brogden is is a great addition too for for a young team some young pieces in 12 game that dunk was his 20th point of the night oh Whitmore behind the back on the S look at his production in the minutes he’s played 19 minutes he’s got 20 points at 14 boards three point him down too after this game they just wanted to give those guys as much run as possible only sitting on 30 minutes for the game as AJ and oar could not convert from outside oh elevation sees the shot clock at five oh great moving to his right against anybody including a much bigger Defender as was the case there how about the big man with the pass and Robinson gets it back and what fight two play but it’s not always your choice when you’re a third pick in the draft 22 points it is kind of chilly here the air conditioning is cranking today and he’s been sitting there the whole time I was going to say he’s been frozen on the bench he been frozen his hands probably are you can’t uncor one of those hey Wednesday is the last
