Here are the trades that involved the Nets:

Brooklyn Nets: Dorian Finney-Smith to the Sacramento Kings for Kevin Huerter, a 2025 second-round pick (via POR) and a 2026 second-round pick

Cleveland Cavaliers: Isaac Okoro (sign-and-trade) to the Brooklyn Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith

Dallas Mavericks: Maxi Kleber and a 2025 first-round pick (top-10-protected) to the Brooklyn Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith

Detroit Pistons: Jaden Ivey to the Brooklyn Nets for Cam Thomas

Phildelphia 76ers: KJ Martin (sign-and-trade) and a 2026 first-round pick (top-four-protected) to the Brooklyn Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith

Sacramento kings: Kevin Huerter, Colby Jones, a 2025 second-round pick (via POR) and a 2028 first-round pick (lottery-protected) to the Brooklyn Nets for Cameron Johnson

The Ivey-Thomas swap is the most retarded thing I’ve ever seen

Other than the pistons trade I would be fine with any of these TBH

I think I read somewhere that 76ers can’t trade KJ Martin until Jan 25 so it would be a stretch for DFS at that point.

I’d take a gamble on Okoro for DFS imo and would do the Mavs trade for another 25 pick. We could use another 25 pick to combine with our others and move up in the lottery.

CJ I feel like will get traded later down the year but I’m hoping DFS gets traded soon.

    The Detroit trade you can

  5. Best one is the Mavs deal – as long as Doncic is healthy, they won’t be top-10.

I actually don’t hate the Ivey trade, I love Cam but I feel like Ivey has shown flashes of a higher ceiling

Thanks for posting and organizing this.

    Here’s my thoughts:

    > Brooklyn Nets: **Dorian Finney-Smith to the Sacramento Kings for Kevin Huerter, a 2025 second-round pick (via POR) and a 2026 second-round pick**

SAC can keep their future 2nds. Huerter makes $16.8m this season and $17.9m next season. If SAC is going to send a guy under contract for another season (thereby renting 2026 cap space) and get DFS in return, they have to make it worth Brooklyn’s while. Send back a future 1st.

    > Cleveland Cavaliers: **Isaac Okoro (sign-and-trade) to the Brooklyn Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith**

Sure, but this makes Brooklyn better. I don’t want to be better. And, I don’t want to pay average players their bag. I want 1) future draft capital and 2) cheap, young good players.

    > Dallas Mavericks: **Maxi Kleber and a 2025 first-round pick (top-10-protected) to the Brooklyn Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith**

    I would do this today.

I don’t like Kleber’s $11m in 2026, but it’s worth it for another bite at the 2025 draft apple. I would push for better protections, but this is a very good offer.

    > Detroit Pistons: **Jaden Ivey to the Brooklyn Nets for Cam Thomas**

    Dumbest shit I’ve ever seen.

    > Phildelphia 76ers: **KJ Martin (sign-and-trade) and a 2026 first-round pick (top-four-protected) to the Brooklyn Nets for Dorian Finney-Smith**

Martin has already been signed. This deal can’t occur.

    > Sacramento kings: **Kevin Huerter, Colby Jones, a 2025 second-round pick (via POR) and a 2028 first-round pick (lottery-protected) to the Brooklyn Nets for Cameron Johnson**

This is a good framework, but it can be improved (for both sides)

    > SAC can keep Colby Jones ($2.1m) and the 2025 2nd via POR.

Send the Nets Kevin Huerter ($16.8m) and Trey Lyles ($8m expiring) for Cam Johnson ($23.6m), and then loosen the protections on the lottery protected SAC 2028 1st.

The Nets get a better 2028 pick and SAC gets some salary relief in 2025.

  8. Hell yeah, bring Huerter back home to NY! Would be awesome to root for a fellow Upstate NYer!
