I was surprised to see him referred to the Nuggets as a "three-headed" snake with him, Jokic and Jamal at the forefront instead of MPJ. Even though he was clearly the 2nd best player in the playoffs.

The conspiracy theorist in me wants to say that this means MPJ is getting traded, but the reality is that its just debatable who is the real 3rd option on the Nuggets, between MPJ and AG.
AG does a lot of little things that go unnoticed on the team.
He also can at times take over in a game and do star like things.
If he could do that more consistently, then of course hed be the 3rd option on the team.
MPJ on the other hand has a lot of room to develope, especially now that hes seemingly healthier than ever. That Lakers series really showed how good he can be, but he dissapeared in the Timberwolves series.
AG has the higher floor, while MPJ has the higher ceiling.
Nust depends on what you value more.

MPJ is a spot up role player. Not nearly consistent to be called an option on offense
Knowing your role and thriving within it is an underrated ability. Especially in a league where even the 15th man on the roster was probably seen as “the man” during much of their careers.
They just need one of Strawther/Braun to get consistent and give them either a good replacement for KCP or a bench scoring option. My delusional ass thinks Strawther gonna score 40 a night after seeing what he did yesterday in the summer league

The thing that makes the Nuggets tough isn’t that AG this or MPJ that. What makes them tough is the combination of the two – both are huge at 6’9 or 6’10 and very versatile, so any kind of slight mismatch leaves you exposed and always on the defensive. Frankly, I’m surprised the nuggets don’t use MPJ kind of like Klay in terms of running off screens and more back cuts because he’s huge, so if your contest is slightly late he gets an open shot even if you’re running at him. And then with AG we know about how dangerous he is in the dunker spot. So all this rambling is to say I don’t think AG or MPJ are the 3rd option. I think they’re both 3A and 3B.
I didn’t know his brother passed away – car accident and left behind his wife and three kids. From memory (YouTube) they were close too.
