I could see him coming back in 2 years depending on how things play out. I wish him well when he’s not against us.

  2. Again, Isaiah thanks for your service but man I don’t want to hear it. Enjoy Oklahoma

  3. Teenageboy69

Totally reasonable business decision. No feelings need to be hurt.

  4. dennishitchjr

I hope we win a chip without him.

Then we win some more with him.

Nothing surprising. You have a shot at the bag when you’ve been a journeyman, you take it. Another shot is not guaranteed.

Reasonable. I don’t think any Knicks fan should dislike him. The fact that turning down millions was on the table at all is pretty nuts. I wouldn’t turn down 20 bucks for us bozos lol

    I love I-Hart, but

You ain’t winning in bumfuck OKC, we winning in NYC

  9. Johns_spagetti

Because the 18-19 million he would have made you New York would not have e changes his life

yeah, anyone who mentioned detroit maxing him and him taking the bag were confused. he went from a 2 seed to a 1 seed with a raise.

I fully believe if we were within 4 or 5 mil a year of OKCs offer he wouldve stayed.

But the man got a giant bag and has the possibility to still play a decent amount of games at MSG this season when its a knicks/thunder nba finals.

IHart will forever be a knick. Maybe one day he comes back.

  12. Time to turn the page, wish him personal success.

  13. It is what it is, he now has a family to take care of. Good for him, all the best. That is a super bag that nobody would have turned down.

  14. We would all do the same for ourselves and our family, let’s be honest. When a team offers you a bag that could secure generations to come, you take it, and worry about everything else after.

Can’t fault him at all. Hope we meet in the finals and take the W

Makes perfect sense. Big money + the perfect team fit for him to continue developing his offense. Can’t be mad at all.

  17. HueyWasRight1

Bro I appreciate you playing hard while you was with us. Good luck on your future.

  18. LeftyMode

You can’t be mad at the guy. He was one more season away from being a journeyman. Thibs unlocked his potential and set him for life.

I wonder if OKC will end up picking up the third year player option and eventually offering him an extension. If they do both of those things, he will make way more money than we could have given him. If they let him go after two years, then it depends on how well he has played and who his suitors are at that point. He will only need to make 6 mil a year for the next two years for it to even out with our offer, but if not a lot of teams have cap space or are in need of a center than the amount that he made going to OKC over us might not be that much.

In that third year they will need to give both JDub and Chet rookie max extensions or close to that, and SGA a supermax one year after that. The third year team option was definitely designed with that in mind so it will all depend on how much value he has brought to the team over those two years and what the rest of their roster looks like. It sucks that they stole him from us and aren’t even willing to commit to him long term.

OKC is really good. It’s hard to blame him. I knew they were a really strong candidate to sign him and would ultimately succeed if they were willing to make a strong offer that we were unable to match.

I hope we give him the applause that he deserves and then boo.

He did mention that he lost potential millions when rumors that his knees were not good in the draft. That caused him to slip to the 2nd round and end up bouncing around for a few years. I could imagine the ordeal was not something he wanted for his family.
