Why do so many people dont understand that a trade has to make sense for both teams…why on earth would the Lakers do this. Why would even Brooklyn do this. It doesnt make sense at all bro.

Bro. Lay off the pipe. The lakers trying to win this season, why the hell would they trade for another Bronny James?

No one is rescuing us from Ben’s contract. Stop dreaming y’all.

Put AD on top and we have something cooking.
Anywho, stop with these

Nobody is taking on Benâs contract

Good idea, you can have Ben be a mentor for Bronny

Thereâs no reason to trade Ben when weâre trying to tank unless weâre offered a 1st and a bad contract thatâs 2 or maybe 3 years long (and they canât be a good player on a bad contract either). Even then I think weâre better off just playing young guys and developing. If Ben gets 20-25 games heâll be a good facilitator and help set guys up and build their confidence if anything.

This makes zero sense for the lakers do you watch basketball?

The Lakers only agree to a trade for Ben Simmons if the time comes where they arenât looking to compete this season. That may happen, or it may not.
But, for the sake of discussion, letâs say the Lakers are out of a playoff spot come late January, 2025.
1-) The Lakers wonât move Hood-Schifino.
2-) The Lakers wonât âthrow a couple seconds our wayâ in any deal that includes Hood-Schifino. Thereâs no âNets save $7 million in cap space this seasonâ when trading with a capped 1st apron team.
3-) The Lakers will want to move off salary in order to acquire Simmonsâ large expiring deal.
4-) The Lakers will need to include a future 1st if they want to shed salaries for a massive expiring like Simmonsâ $40.3m deal.
5-) The deal will be the combined salaries of DâAngelo Russell ($18.6m), Gabe Vincent ($11m), and Jarred Vanderbilt ($10.7m), which adds up to $40.3m for Simmonsâ $40.3m expiring.
6-) The negative with the Nets with the above is that Vincent has $11m in 2026 salary, and Vanderbilt has $11.5m in 2026, $12.4m in 2027 and a $13.2m PO in 2028.
7-) The positive for the Lakers, conversely, is that this will give them significant cap space in 2025 to make a move.
đ What is the going rate for $22.5m (Vincent and Vanderbiltâs combined salaries) in cap relief in 2026? A future Lakers unprotected 1st.

Ben literally had the worst contract in the NBA. We gotta let it expire. There’s now other way out.
