league Las Vegas summer league averaging 16 and a half points on 54% shooting 48% from three he’s really had it going on from long range if you’re not familiar with the player that’s why you’re probably watching this video we got you 66 guard Wing hybrid at a Bowling Green he went undrafted in 2022 played with the New Orleans Pelicans Oklahoma City Thunder summer league teams prior to latching on with golden state and then played for the Pelicans g-league during the 2022 2023 campaign and then the magic g-league squad for 2023 a well-traveled player who is making most of his opportunities during the NBA Summer League and I have to be honest he’s looked really good producer Smitty did a YouTube short on him yesterday saying the Warriors need to sign dayquon plow and that’s exactly what they went out and did we have foresight on this program during the summer league C Las Vegas 16 1 12 points per game three and a half rebounds more than a block per night so what he’s been doing on the defensive then has really impressed this Warriors brass probably going a long way and then giving him this two-way contract of course what he’s doing offensively turning some heads there against the Heat 26 points 10 of 14 shooting six of nine from three he was a plus 41 then against the Lakers still efficient 14 points eight rebounds two blocks four7 from the field he was a plus 13 against Sacramento 103 and a block against Phoenix 19 points 8 of 12 from the deck three of four from three he was a plus seven and then against the Chicago Bulls most recently 14 points three boards four of 10 from the field two a four from three just a couple of takeaways there the defense and blocking shots at that size of him being a guard Wing but also being able to knock down some three-pointers and when you’re showing in the summer league that you might have a couple of elite traits that could really translate to you being an impactful player whether it be for the Santa Cruz Warriors or Golden State it’s worthwhile to sign a player of this caliber to two-way contract considering what he’s been able to do with the Warriors and the impression that he’s been able to put called for him to do the dirty things and the small things he is showing that he can play a role at the NBA level now of course we know that the NBA Summer League whether it be California Salt Lake Las Vegas the level of competition isn’t spectacular you’re going up against a minimal amount of players who are going to be impact players at the NBA level in the grand scheme of things a lot of these players are international guys who are trying to live out their dreams of playing in the NBA of course you’re going to take on your share of first and second round picks both current and former but for him to do what he’s been able to do that’s why Golden State assigning him to that two-way deal to at least see if he could be a part of this team to impact the dubs in 2024 2025 I thought what Smitty did in putting together his player comp for plow him was interesting and he kind of compared him to a pascal seakan type of player seak a little bit longer you know a little bit taller a little bit lankier skinnier maybe but but a long athlete who can defend multiple positions put the ball on the floor at least a little bit and then shoot from deep and SE yakum the three-point shot has certainly been jackn Hyde but he ended up getting that huge contract from Indiana because he played well there helped the Toronto win uh Raptors win an NBA championship back during that 201819 season and he can get it done on both ends and that versatility always important to have at the NBA level here plen himself said after the summer league win over Phoenix I feel like the way I eat is within the flow of everything and tonight we were just flowing I love that quote right there because he’s been eating and his game has been flowing and that has helped the Warriors flow as a team moving forward they’re not going to have Brandon psky Trace Jackson Davis they already proved that they don’t need to be playing any more summer league ball going into year two for those players respectively for like done leave he said plow and has been really impressive he’s a guy we like he’s picked up things quickly and obviously is shooting the ball well here and then he said that before of course the warrior signed him and then they did it to that deal and for me I think for him to be a viable player on an NBA roster has to be willing to play a role unselfishly he has to show that he can guard a couple of different positions he’s going to have to be able to knock down the three whether he’s playing playing at the g-league level or at the NBA level and everything that I was kind of hoping that he’d be able to accomplish check check check he’s really checking off those boxes what could stand in the way of him seeing consistent NBA minutes or being on the Warriors roster consistently without having to like go back and forth between the dubs and the g- league I think he’s going to be more of a g- league guy some of the wings that are already on this team and guards you know you have John kaminga you have Moses Moody DeAnthony Melton buddy heeld and Andrew Wiggins so golden state has some players in front of him there that obviously are going to stand in the way of this success story
