We really had a perfect off season if we are being honest. The Hawks upgraded the defense and depth tenfold by adding DD, Nance, and Risacher.
Risacher is going to take all of those Wes Matthews minutes we were subjected to last year. Can’t emphasize this enough that he will bring much needed shooting and length to the second unit. Now you have another wing to invest in longtem and aren’t married to Hunter any longer.
You replace Bey’s minutes off the bench with a savoy veteran like Nance who shot 41.5% from three last year. He also will catch an insane amount of lobs from Trae, Bogi, JJ, and Bufkin.
DD provides the defensive hound dog who can fill in the gaps on offense when Trae and JJ create.
Then you throw in that Lakers pick on top of that which I bet will turn into a top 10 pick in next years deep draft. Plus the Sac pick which will convey because ain’t no way they don’t make the playoffs after adding Derozan and basically bringing back their entire team. That’s two more cost controlled young players to fill out the roster after we have a ton of money coming off the books to possibly make a play in free agency next offseason.
We’ll be a lot more fun to watch next year and I’m here for it

I mean we are/were… the DJ trade was talked about everywhere. Not a day goes by there isn’t speculation where Trae could be traded (for better or worse). We had the #1 overall pick.
I’m not a big fan of “making moves” just to make them.
